THAT'S MY AUNT!! She is just amazing! She has been doing renovations, remodels, builds like this for ever. Her creativityand invocation know no bounds. Her work is truly amazing and inspiring.
Man that is an amazing trailer build & Diana is so inspiring. I really like all the recycling, repurposing, & creativity used in Diana's trailer. Thank you for sharing a Super Cool trailer build.
Almost everything in the camper was recycled or repurposed. I tried to not only make it light but affordable. There is so much waste in the world... i needed certain things to travel and I found ways to do that with little to no money. And it’s small enough that it’s isn’t a huge production to just hook up and go. Thank you for the kindness... keep recycling... everything is used once you buy it... right?
The cutest little tiny home I've seen thus far and I've been online researching for about 4years now. This is on a different level of cozy and gorgeous.
@@dianak2348 You are very welcome Diana!! I commend you. Your home is everything. You certainly have a talent and could easily make income helping others to utilize their small spaces with the same coziness, warmth and beauty as you did for yourself. Spread that talent! You are a natural.
@@heartstrings7814 well... I can’t video, I’ve tried and I can’t do it, but Bill has a great talent at it and made me look good. I have disabilities that make doing these things slow and difficult. I stutter and have issues with words, they come out unintelligible...Bill did a great job of helping me through it. But all that said, I would enjoy helping people with their small space living.
Great little trailer. I love the couch and drop down bed. That fireplace is wonderful. So much in such a small space. I love her diy omni oven. I have looked at them. Great idea!
I have even taken the couch on the deck, took off the canopy, close the curtains to watch the stars. The Omni diy was one of my ideas that actually worked LoL so I’m glad Bill and Deb showed it. The table being where it is gives me so much room to cook in that tiny space. Thanks for your kind words.
@@dianak2348 after years of wanting one, i bought a coleman oven that works with my colenan stove. I've done a diy one using 2 dog bowls. Works good, but not real secure. Excited to try your diy as well! You can never have too many ways to bake!!
Wow Bill She really did great fixing that even tho it’s small. Love the fireplace!!! That heat takes the chill off. She really did a great job and made it so homey, a couch, TV, Fireplace, table and a small place to get dress and use potty. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 but I wish I could have one of those cinnamon rolls 😉💕.
If you look you will see a white plastic rail that I hook things on, so I put a hook on the back of fireplace and hangs on the rail. Easy to remove and lay on bed for transport. Thanks so much
I like the stovetop oven hack she showed! I'm going to keep the elastomeric paint in mind for my own build. It looks like her trailer might be all aluminum too, which is what I'm looking for too! Thanks for this interview!
Holy moly, this gal has used that V nose to create a welcoming roomy entrance!! Great spatial arrangement throughout. I’m saving this one for inspiration Thankx
7:30--- AGREED! DEFINITELY THE BEST CHANNEL FOR THIS CONTENT. I have been watching Cargo trailer videos for at least (3-4) years and once I discovered this channel, I don't even watch any others! Great content! It doesn't hurt that Bill and Deb are an absolute DELIGHT! Bill and Deb, you are greatly appreciated and of course I appreciate everyone who shares their Cargo experience! I think this is the new retirement for our generation. 😁 Love this Cargo too. Keep em Coming.
I totally agree with Pamela. I’ve been converting a 7 x 12 for the last couple years and would love one day to show you what I have done. Thanks for the videos will continue to keep watching.
@@billanddeb maybe I’ll try to make it down when you have your next gathering I live in Leavenworth Kansas not terrible far away. Anyways, thanks for the chat. Have a great day.
Really a very cozy & functional space. I love the drill/mixer idea thank you & the pellets for litter or soaking up grey water. I will be rescuing a cat to live in my van with me & I was worried about the usual dusty litter with my asthma & allergies. I will be getting those pellets too so thank you! What a great idea. I also like the shelf cut in half & hinged. Really smart. Never thought of it.
Insulation exposed on ceiling: using Halo charcoal insulation system on ceiling, walls, , struts, reflectix, painted the roof with elastomeric rubber roofing /coating painted 2 coats on ceiling/roof. Futon bed , plywood 1 by 2, cabinets with magnets on doors ( no hinges) Use horse pellets in toilets, sink to soak up water. Laveo Dry toilet with horse pellets, induction cook top ( using frypan with lid , bundt cakepan )
In our vacation home in WV we don't have a septic system. Damp sawdust works beautiful. That's what we use in our Humanure composting system. Read the Humanure Handbook by Joseph Jenkins. We will use this system when we build our camper. We love it. :)
Omgosh, I love this! It is so cozy and welcoming. Everything about it is thoughtful and inventive. I'm saving this video to my On the Road playlist for when I start "Living" too 😊 I'd love to have an update video on pulling and setting up the trailer. That's my only concern. I'm sure I over-think it. New subscriber 👍🏼😃 Thank you all. Edit: Forgot to add how much I loved the fire place. It elevates the feeling of coziness even more. 👏🏼
Hi Kim!!! Nice to see you came to see the video!! Makes me smile. I love this build …. I will be at the rendezvous in MO…but I might be sporting a different rig..maybe…working on a lighter build. :D if I do Bill and Deb will surely made a video of it. We really need to meet in person. :D
OMG SHE IS SOOO ADORABLE !!! And what an inspiration.... I was watching the video, and realized, I can tow something like that with my vehicle.... I have been trying to hit the road, but I had no idea how I was going to be able to get a good older used class A and tow my vehicle, which I discovered can't be flat towed...( much to my dismay ) this way I could actually get on the road and have a great starter package to just get out there and live !! I love your channel and everyone has had such amazing ideas....
Exactly! And towing even if you get less mileage you still get better than a class A. The reason I got a trailer that was 6 ft wide was so I could see around it without special mirrors while towing.and it’s 6 ft tall and v-nosed so I can stand up but have less wind resistance. It’s all aluminum siding also helps with the weight and wind drag...LoL probably more than you wanted to know but had to share.
@@dianak2348 I appreciate the added tidbits !! It certainly gives me some great food for thought !! All of your points are incredibly valid, and perhaps I wouldn't have thought of, so I thank you !!
It is magnet on a roll and I used marine glue to hold it. The garage door is a wood picture I got from hobby lobby that covered the opening. Two of the doors are painting canvas, one black that’s on the coffee bar and the kitchen door is plain with a tea towel stapled to it. So they weigh very little. I have bungie cords held by picture hangers to hold the kitchen one when moving. Sorry such a long winded reply.
Diana thank you for sharing your beautiful camper. The inside is just darling. Seldom do I watch the outside of the camper because it doesn't interest me but yours definitely did. Bill and Deb another great video!
What a nice cozy home! It looks like you have everything you need to be comfortable. I need to get some of those pellets. I heard they were great for kitty litter. Happy travels!
My granddaughter and I live in a 33ft camper and we love it. I love to see other people's tiny houses and how they do what they do with them! Diana seems like a beautiful lady, very crafty, with some awesome but cheap Repurposing! What a beautiful trailer she came up with and it is very inspirational! Thank you for sharing! ❤
hi I JUST SUBSCRIBED TO YOUR CHANNEL on today November 3 / 2022) love your guest Travel Trailer Setup, thumbs up and thanks for sharing the Tour with us.
I use the peletized horse pellets and JUST LOVE THEM. I use a composting toilet and they are perfect. Im going to change my cat liter to this also. One less thing to carry, no nasty messy cat liter!.
Omg i had no idea 😂😂😂😂 i finally have a mixer I've been wanting to buy that i already had in my tool box... I cant wait to mix something up Thank you 🙏🏽❤
Wow talk about turn around when you first started she was so shy by the end she was fantastic she did a great job in that trailer I take my hat off to her and I got some ideas 👍👏👏👏🎅🚌🌻
Diana, nice job! For your ceiling have you considered using fabric / vinyl (like car seat upholstery) and attaching it by magnets, so it could look pulled tight or tufted as you wish and could be cheap and easily removed / changed?
Backsplash? The metal behind the cooktop? I needed some kind of heat protection so I used a ceiling tile tin and have it gapped a little in the back to protect the wall
@@dianak2348 Thx for your reply. I thought that might have been what was used. Great idea. You have so many great little things and ideas, I wanted to see more and closer. :) Thx again. And happy travels.
Thank you. You speak kindly. You appreciate each person's work. Open to others way of doing it, that might help someone else. We had started planning this when he passed suddenly. I still want to go, good to hear encouragement. I think I'll start with a cab on my truck and start camping a few days at a time. Drive further each time. But I can't stop thinking about getting out
I’m so sorry to hear of your loss, I find comfort in the country, in my vehicle driving the old country roads...I would sleep in my Subaru Tribeca in the Colorado mountains and although I would rather do it in my camper, I started just in a car and went to destinations that made me smile...I hope that you find your way and someday our paths might cross while we are not camping... we’re living!
I made a video just a couple months back with a cargo trailer and the Elastomeric Coating on the roof. I show evidence with surface temp. 50 deg lower temp with the coating vs raw roof. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Very inspiring! I wanted to ask about the large square tile backsplash she has behind the cooking area. Is it metal or another material? Can it be found in a store? I love it!!🥰
It is a tin ceiling tile I had left over from my house. I needed something to be a heat protector so I just used that. Thank you it really is easy for anyone to build
I love the design! Awesome job! I've been weighing the different options of vans or towable and I've pretty much decided I like the towable option best for many reasons. Do you mind sharing the name of the stuff you coasted your roof with? BTW I love this channel 💜
Great build. Wonderful lady. But please do not tell others to use a drill for cooking. If you drill with a bit into metal, you can get metal shavings stuck on the end of the drill. Put that drill over your food and guess where the shavings will end up without you even seeing it.
Thanks for the thought, I guess being mindful of the cleanliness of the tools you using is a must no matter what tool you use. I have used that drill to do pancake batter for years and I make sure it’s clean so no shaving in my batter 😊
🙆🏾♀️Please tell me. When it gets cold (since you all were complaining about how cold it was outside), how do you keep it warm inside your little tiny home?🤷🏽♀️
We have a minisplit. It keeps us warm when it's cold outside and keeps us cool when it's hot outside. It uses minimum power to run and we can run it with our battery bank if necessary.
My tiny house has the fireplace, all walls are insulated and I have 12 v heat blanket as well as a small plug in heater. Even having the back patio down the curtain kept the heat in, wasn’t uncomfortable at all
Yes, it’s a Laveo dry toilet that uses special cartridges. But, the cartridges are expensive, so I lined it with a heavy duty bag and put in the horse pellets. That works way better. The toilet is very much like a standard toilet, and although it’s an expensive bucket I find it comfortable. Maybe someone could find one second hand. They are easily sterilized.
It has 200 watts of solar on roof that powers the 100 ah Bolt silicon salt battery, that runs all 12 volt lights 24/7 as that keeps the battery healthy. There is a 12v refrigerator that runs on battery or plug in electric. I usually plug into the 12v when driving then if I have electric at site will plug it in to shore power. The ref is located on shelf behind the kitchen counter cabinet. I have both 12 v plug and AC. Coming from the surge protectors at the back. The inverter is a 1500 watt inverter with 3000 surge. It can power all my appliances as they are all under 1200 watts. I also have the ecoflow river that also can power most of my appliances if needed. Hope that answers your questions. Thanks for watching and please share it !
I have a huge question 🙋♀️ I know a lot of Rvers have a major problem with mice going in without a huge door opened like yours. How are you handling squirrels and mice from not chewing your wiring?Im loving your recycled material used very wisely.Thank you
I have not had one bit of problem in the two years it has been here. I live in the woods and no problems. I believe it’s that they have no access. There is no holes in the floor or ceiling. The vent where the power goes in is closed as well. I have a solar powered vent that is also sealed, window is sealed. If your talking about while the back gate is opened, I have a few squirrel and a raccoon stories I could tell, but they didn’t do any damage to the camper, just scared the crap outta me thinking Bigfoot was gonna get me LoL
Well... I don’t remember... Wait... I do remember it was bought at tractor supply in 2015 I think. It was too small for my needs in the house so I put it in the camper hanging it on the wall in a makeshift French cleat. Used French cleat picture hanger on a rail I put on both walls. I used plastic lattice trim to make rails on both sides of the camper so I could hang the tv, fireplace etc and move it to where I needed it. However I put the TV on an arm instead to have more room. Hope that answers your question.
I am going to take that as a compliment, however it was simple and no heavy building. I designed it and built it, I just didn’t cut the window out, I installed the window and trimmed it out. The solar is about as easy as you can get, even a newbie could do it. Bills setup is a work of art, him and Marvin are solar geniuses.
Yes I removed all the plywood on walls, I insulated it then I put 1/4 plywood (very light) to reduce weight. I did reuse small pieces of the 1/2 plywood to build the shelf. But the shelf is built to have as little wood possible. Hope that answered your question. Thank you for watching.
@@dianak2348 Thanks so much for answering my question. One other question - where do you usually park - do you have a problem getting into campgrounds since you are in a cargo trailer? Also, you have one of the most beautiful builds I have seen! Thanks for sharing.
@@debbyhodges2588 so far we have camped in state parks, National Forest and corps of engineers, none of which had issues with the cargo. Not tried private campgrounds. So no issues at all.
@@debbyhodges2588 thank you so much for the compliment, it really was not a lot of construction but a lot of playing Tetris with cabinets so they would do what I wanted, LoL
We generally buy a new bag about every 3 weeks at about $6 per bag. We also use it as kitty litter for our kitty cat, Delilah. Of course, Diana doesn't full-time in hers. A bag will last her much longer.
Well I use it at the house too for my cats and I go through about a bag a month or so And I have had to use the camper bathroom in the last 3 months due to construction on the bathrooms in the house. I absolutely believe this is a great solution for a bathroom.
