As someone who’s never worked on a 6.0, it’s amazing to me how “updated” of a design they are over the 7.3s. But this video makes me feel like I could work on one just as easy
Great video. we used stucco mixing pans to drain the coolant from the block the big black bins at home depot. then install fumoto valves atleast on my personal truck i did for the block drain that way you can hook a hose to them and just open the valve
Wow what a job, I can see why they move the engine partially under the firewall but what a pita to work on, I’m learning and really enjoying your videos 😁👍
Thank you! Unfortunately I won’t do them with cab on. I can just do a much better job either pulling engine or cab. I think the key to doing this job correct is being comfortable and relaxed and you won’t be comfortable fighting the heater box and laying on your belly.
@@Atomic_Diesel could you show a video how to test early 03 hpop. One thing you can't find anything how to tell if it's bad just a guess till you get there. Any maybe at way to rebuild one.
Thanks for the video, very informative and thorough. Do you have a particular head supplier you recommend? I have been looking at the UFC o-ring head. Also, how long is that sharpening stone, 10-12"? I am having a very hard time finding one that long.
If i knew a month ago how deep id be into ny 07 f350 id have at min taken the front "clip" off. I spent the better part of the last month basically doing a "plank" across my radiator/motor. And i live in swfl. Its been mid to upper 90s with 80% or more humidity. But ill be dang nabbid iv i ever take her back to the stealership. At this point i have a block connected to a tranny. Ill prob just pull it to put it all back together. What sucks is i didnt do my radiator flush b4 all this. But i did do an oil change literally the day before i started. Theres 100 or more wasted😂
International did a shit job on surface finishes in terms of deck and head surfaces IMO the nicer ther surface the better the seal when it comes to a MLS headgasket. Without pulling the block you can hand lap the deck surface which is super labor intensive and there is a guy on here I believe his channel is "TooManyToys" very informative but dry and drawn out but is worth a watch
I’m getting ready to do a headgasket job and this is my first time working on a 6.0 i’ve watched this video twice already and i’m still nervous to tackle this job for any tips for that?? btw love the vids man!
It’s okay to be nervous! You’ve got it, just take your time with everything! I will try and make a video very soon on block prep and stud instructions. Also if you have any questions while tackling the job don’t hesitate to shoot me a message!
Have you installed or had any experience with the dummy plug/stand pipes from Dieselsite? Looks like they did a complete redesign and they are double o-ringed
I do not have any personal experience with them, but I think it’s a really good design and wouldn’t hesitate to use them. I would just ask where their o rings come from.
