great vid Captain ! loved the Science fair jenky rig ;) explanation ! I put in a new IPR but I think theconnectiziod pigtail needs replacing as well ;(
I just had to change my ipr valve on my 6.0 .I was driving along and my truck just stopped running was running good before the valve went bad. And i know first hand that the IPR valve will leave you sitting on side of the road. I didn't have a clue that it was going bad but changed the valve and back on the road again and I'm very thankful i wasn't to far from home. Just food for thought .
This past week mine did the same. First blame went to the FICM as my original 7-pin died. Warrantied out for a new one but still no start & low HPOP pressure. Now suspecting the valve.
So my problem is that I have an 06 F-350 lariat with the 6.0, I got the old IPR out.. well half of it anyways. The one removed appears to be aftermarket and the solenoid head threaded off of the shaft to housing side, it doesn't want to come out easy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Gonna need to change this ipr valve when it comes in at the dealership. With a new ICP, egr and fixum I hope the rig works. Put well over 2gs on it so I'm really praying and not needing any more problems with it.
Dude I'm not calling BS but I guess I am on you being able to remove the IPR without pulling the ficm but if you can do it. Post a video showing it and I'll sit and watch it because I'm changing mine and you can't get your hands in there at all
That’s cool I guess. I was able to do it, but I also do this for a living and know a couple tricks… maybe that’s the difference. Wish I had a 6.0 handy real fast to show more tricks. Some rigs have different ficm brackets on them as a “upgrade or fix” they had issues with heat and vibration in the early days, there are 2 different brackets I know of, possibly more, this may make it harder to get in there.
@@everythingyukon well mine is a 06 and I've damed my soul to hell working on this bastard. I hate the 6.0 I've owned it since 2014 and it's constantly got something wrong with it and hell I don't do anything but drive it. No pulling, mudding, nothing rough at all
Me and the old guy down the way changed his IPR and left then specialized socket on it because the wire to the connector plug was running across the back side of the socket and I didn't want to damage the wiring or plug or IPR valve.
I think that I have that problem with my truck it won't star I had watch several videos on this won't start problem I really like this video. That's tomorrow I will take off this IPR valve
IPA's are disgusting! Veritas! Do yall EGR delete? Here in southern CA am getting error codes for my ol 2004 f350 6 0l, then chk engine light dissappears. I already had 2 injectors replaced,(shop said got error codes) was working good for a 2000 mile trip, now getting revving & cold/ hot no starts & just got a stall few days ago. Seems if go under 50 -55mph, truck runs normal... been using starter fluid to get truck turned over, only when glo plugs on for 2min+, sometimes will start right up w/o?
@@everythingyukon hear ya, diesel garage I go in NW Arkansas, had thousands of fines, had a lawyer in Louisiana help get reduced fines, and probationary period. Talked to guy here in high desert & he had egr sealed, but then egr mounted on top so looked like still there.
Help! I’m getting 14.8% koeo, as soon as I crank it shoots to 84.7% along with only 280 icp. I already changed dummies, stand pipes, nipple seals and injector seals. I air tested thru IPR port and find no leaks. System held 160 psi air for 1 hour! Is this symptoms of a bad IPR?
Helppp!!! Took my 05 350 dually for oil change yesterday and now it runs awful! I can find in forums that it has happened to other 6.0’s but I’ve never found an answer. Only thing that’s different was I added a qt of Prolube
Was you getting a 0psi I was getting 300. I took the ipr out cleaned it and changed the filter and o rings. And I was getting around 25psi. Then the next time I checked it was 0
I done the ipr valve on my 6.0 the same way as this and it didnt make any sound or anything. So does that mean its bad cause my truck wont start at all
Good Vid. My 6.p will stop, then start..on & off. Got a code from one of my 3 scanners.."C0700". Wasn't very specific..but it had to do with "oil pressure and injection", so I'm changing IPR and IPC.. 👍🏽
Please I need your favour,I have a 2004 Ford F 350 Superduty 6.0 engine and it has just about 125,000 miles on it,I don't really drive it always most of the time it is just sitting down but I run it once in a while.Recently that I tried to run it,I discovered that the rpm does not go beyond 2200 and I have been having this truck for about 12 years now and nothing like this has ever happened,as a matter of fact I bought it from the original owner.I have the regular obd2 scanner and when I used that to check it gave me P0621 code. What does this translate into and what is it that I have to do to get it fixed.I will appreciate response also from others that might have gotten this type of experience or people that knows what can be done to get this problem resolved. Thanks and I look forward to a helpful feedback.
Hopefully you have an answer for my situation. To start it would throw white smoke out for a lil bit then stop. Sometimes it would be so much it would look like there was a fire. After driving around I’d shut it off and would be back say 30 minutes later try to start and it would just crank over. I would need to let the truck sit for a few hrs before starting it again. Don’t really know if it could be the ipr or the icp or both. Hopefully you’ve seen something like this and could point me in the right direction.
Sounds like stand pipes and dummy plugs on yours are shot that will cause a hot no start every single time . Also a cracked egr cooler can be the cause of white smoke .
Hey ScanGauge will help you read the percentage of the IPR valve in the pressure at the ICP sensor those little gauges are inexpensive I think 200 bucks from bulletproof diesel already set up for the V8 Ford diesel hey IPR socket is relatively cheap I think about 12 or 15 bucks
The 6.7 powerstroke (I guess that's what you're talking about and not the 6.7 Cummins) is a solid engine, aside from some small issues. Fun fact, the 6.7 powerstroke is the first Diesel engine designed and built completely by Ford.
@@everythingyukon technically speaking its the third. the 6.6L Brazilian i6 Turbo diesel was the first ford Diesel engine the second was the Ford 636 AKA (marketed to cat by the name of) cat 3208. a 10.4 Liter V8 Turbo diesel production of that motor started in 1975.
@@everythingyukon I just inherited one....am hopeful to fix it...runs..(kinda w/miss) and no reverse....5 speed manual....wondering in 5 speeds are fixable....(hint hint)....LOL !!!
Good video. My turbo blew and FICM is bad. Watched DieselTech Ron and the importance of the IPR. Decided to change it out, but want to test both old and new. Your simple setup will work great. Thanks. PS. Will add switch for power control and buy the pigtail. I don't trust my skill with alligator clips.
@@joecorrie1 I tested both old and new. Both work as they should. Very pleased with the outcome. I used a light switch to toggle the power. Worked like a charm.
Having an issue of Hpop low on pressure 1200-1600 psi driving, 0 boost, ipr range solid on start amd idle, but under load driving never reaches over 30 psi. So Im leaning on this being my issue. I have the kit to take it out. Just installed uppipes and rebuilt the turbo. All other numbers look good. Fresh ssnsors on the Maf, Map. EBP, and VGT. 03'
I had e young Machanic look at my 6.0 for hard start. He spent a couple hours then told me I may need another battery like the one I just bought. The ipr may need to be changed so I told him to buy it he called it a sensor. A couple days later showed up with it after I had bought another gel battery and it was starting best it had ever. Told me he had the sensor and I told him to put it on and give me a bill. It took him and a helper all day and with a 1200 plus dollar bill. Now my 6.0 has a very hard start and runs like it should be put down. I found the old ipr valve in my garage with the plug in broken off in it now the truck is at the truck stop with a bad starter I think and will run terrible when I do get it to crank
good advice mine needs changed , thought id learn before breaking or ruining anything . thanks now to get my big hands and arms in that little spot , thanks ford
