Dude, did this on my 6.0L before I sold it. Very nice upgrade! Honestly my 6.0 was sweet. Swapped out the coolant early on and did the EGR delete/MBRP exhaust/tune. Ran like a champ!
@@rocko8153 I dunno about now since innovative diesel changed names but I had mine custom tuned by innovative back about 9 years ago, they will send ya a blank programmer and have you pull ur specific strategy code from ur ecm and u send that code to them via email and they will build you tunes and email them back and all ya do is download the software and move the tunes to ur programmer and ur good to go
I don't work on ford's often. I'm a master gm technician and ase, but I love this channel and the quality of work you show, and I can tell your definitely a thorough tech means alot keep up the good work and tips !
I am a proud owner of a 2003 6.0 Ishe has over 500,000 thousand and she still runs great been through 8sets of good Rich A/T Tires A few batteries and regular maintenance she has been good to me !!!!
So you always have 1 to drive while you work on the others. Just kidding. I'm a big fan of the vgt turbo on 6.0s, not a big fan of the the 7.3/6.0 injector setup using engine oil, and ease of repair compared to cummins. My favorite 1 ton diesel would be mechanical injection cummins, vgt turbo, gm ifs front suspension, and ford interior, built by toyota haha.
6.0 is one of the worst diesel motors ford has ever built. That's why there's a million of them out there for sale. Nothing but garbage and nothing but problems.
@SavageWhiteTailhunter that's called a diesel truck in the modern era. Cummins has a million issues. Duramax no better. 6.0 needed a couple more head bolts. They get a bad wrap but 6.7 and 7.3 have their issues as well.
@@Mr.Brightside8810 if you say so, my 24 valve has no motor issues a s I have 300,000 Miles. Cummins is known for reliability and how long they last. Can't really say that same for the 6.0 that Ford makes. Everyone knows to stay away from the 6.0. Everyone knows they are garbage.
@@LynxStarAuto You can buy the OEM kit with new O rings for less than $30Cdn. No need for that other anodized blue part that does nothing except look pretty.
I think only real men drive 6.0’s it’s a right of passage to become a true man. It helps you become a better mechanic, save money and learn financial responsibility. No need to say anymore.
Brother you know deep down 6.0s are badass. It’s just the emissions..you build a 6.0 right and it’s the best sounding diesel on the road besides a Peterbilt lol
I have a f350 that has 250 thousand miles on it bone stock other than exhaust and the only problem I have had is the ficum box went out 2 times . But other than that it has worked it's ass off on a farm it's whole life. And I worked for a sawmill that had 2 of those trucks and they worked hard every day with minor problems. Maintenance goes a long way
We had a 6oh in a tow fleet that went 600k or more before teardown . The whole lower end had no issues all smooth and no play. We then studded it. Yes egr delete was done at about 560k
I've owned 3 6.0 and I think they are a good motors u just need to upgrade some things before you start working them and I know 3 guys in my town that have 6.7s and there no better than the 6.0 thay have a shit load of problems
I don't get why the 6.0 get so much hate. Yes they have problems but the parts are pretty cheap and can be done for under 5k with labor. I've been a diesel mechanic for 20yrs. The 6.4 is far worse and the 6.7 is very expensive when it breaks
Ford offers a fuel pressure regulator upgrade with a "blue spring" as well. Not sure what the spring tension difference is. I've installed several of them at the dealership, just don't get the shiny housing.
I was wondering what year f250 diesel you would recommend. I am looking for one with an exracab and an 8 ft bed. Correct me if I am wrong, but I want the 38 gallon fuel tank which is only in the 8ft bed model. I was thinking 75,000 to 90,000 miles. Maybe 2011 to 2016 model year.
@@johnshuler1396might check f250 vs f350. Now. Fords 1 ton super dutys get a 48 gallon fuel tank. The f250s only get 34. Theres no factory option to upsize the tank size on a f250 iirc. I dunno bout the 6.0s tho
@cole schmitt who is trash talking I love my 6.0 that I have dumped a lot of money on!! Deleted, studded , air dog pump, Stage 2 turbo along with SD air intake rim’s tires and the list goes on!!!😄
@cole schmitt wow you got a whole team ha?? Not I , I am a Lone Ranger!! Not sure if y’all are Bible readers but if you Read Ecclesiastic 7:9 it says that if we are quick to be offended than we are not very bright! 🧐
@cole schmitt correct 👍 I do appreciate the Bible research you provided I too have plenty of research guides! I also like psalm 37:8 . These scriptures helped me control my attitude during my 15 year Incarceration!😉
@@hankclingingsmith8707 motors are electric engines are not. The fact that you call it a motor tells me everything I need to know about your “mechanic” skills….
Had an International part# kit from Clay at RiffRaff on my former 06 6.0L. Seemed to help some considering it was installed around 135K. Ran a SCT canned tune with stock injectors and EGR cooler. Sold at 210K and no issues with head gaskets or EGR cooler. Meticulous maintenance, but my 17 6.7 gets the same service treatment, often and early, my $$$.
Awesome. Need some 6r80 transmission fluid capacity after dropping pan and replaced all cooler lines and coil in front of radiator. Added 8 quarts of mercon lv to start. 13 quarts when done. Drove for a week, checked again at 201°. Can I get the information on how much fluid to fill. Please and ty
If ur gonna buy all that u might as well but the adjustable regulator. Put a crossover hose on the rear of the heads and get rid of the dead head problem or just get a complete regulated fuel return kit.
I guess I'm lucky I have an 06 with no problems other than the regular maintenance of course EGR delete straight pipe 450000 miles still running good 👍
The 6.0, 6.4, and 7.3 were all international engines. Thank god ford decided to build their own true powerstroke the 6.7. While it ain’t perfect I think it’s better than the rest.
I loved the I'm sorry right out the gate I've told 10 people I know when they ask me about this deal of a f250 they found and are going to buy and my first question is what liter motor is it and that's when everyone of them say I'm not sure lol yea u know and then they say 6.0 but it's clean and my answer is NO !!!! U WILL SPEND 10 GRAND AT LEAST IF U BUY IT AND THEY NEVER LISTEN!!!
Mainly because some people don’t know how to properly maintain , diagnose and repair the 6.0 , when you start tuning them the first thing that happens is the head gaskets blow yes but your increasing boost pressures . Everything else is simple maintenance to keep the 6.0 running fine . You don’t need to spend 10k to keep one running . You spend 10k when you have someone who doesn’t know how to diagnose a 6.0 .
Iv owned a 6.0 now for 10 years I have a 07 lariat 4wd and it blew head gaskets and cracked a head the first 6 months of owning it I had the engine built since it was gonna be torn down and had head work done on the new heads and arp hardware in everything and upgraded injectors and deleted egr and all the normal BS and iv had not a single issue with it since of course I know I dumped tons of money into it but I love the truck it will pull a house down after having the engine built and custom tuning done it was a different animal and I’ll keep it til it just can’t go no more
Was wondering if you could help me with any shortcuts for f550 cab removal? We have alot of them at the municipality I work at and obviously we will be required to pull cabs when needed to repair. Thanks in advance.
Kinda like the fuel filter cap that you said was inexpensive right!! Then I look it up from the place you suggested and I find out that it is NOT Inexpensive and costs almost $200.00. That sir is not inexpensive.... But I will give you credit on this item because you did mention the price.
@@danielk6005 Omg. Ok for wealthy people I guess maybe. People living paycheck to Paycheck aren't able to shell out $200.00 like it's nothing! The majority of people in the US live this way. Pfft!
Lol. If you live pay check to p.check ...you def should not own a 6.0l, first of all! 2nd, $1or200 isn't a lot compared to upgrades like turbos, injectors, and the many other thousand plus dollar range things you can buy for a trk like these. Its perspective....
Get rid of the fuel bowl and mechanical pump.put in a electric pump. Look on google powerstroke nation you can build yourself a nice fuel system with the SD pump for cheap.
That engine has made so many shops lots of money, and drained owner’s patience and wallets. And despite all what is reality. There’s still to this day supporters in denial as to its truths. Defending it with every breath. Best of luck. I ditched them long ago. Never to return.
At this point in the diesel truck game, I think the only modification a 6.0 diesel owner needs to do is throw the damn thing in the junkyard. I owned one for about 7 years and it never stopped cleaning out my wallet. What a complete pile of s*** engine.
I lived through 6.0 warranty repairs. I can't believe anyone believes in that engine enough to make spare parts?🤦 my 5.4 triton is still running 21 years later..
I'm not sorry 6.0 diesels a good engine the aftermarket has fixed all the problems Don't waste your time with that blue spring crap Go get a fuel bowl delete that'll save your injectors as well driven diesel sales them
