Tires: Used set of Pirelli Trofeo R (same set as the 7'12 video) Suspension: stock PASM with Manthey setup Gearbox: not ideal (send PDK plz) When: DN Pro track 3/4 July '23
I own a 991.2 GT3, and it’s an awesome car, and I personally think it looks better than a 992. The tough part about official comparisons of Porsche lap times is that it doesn’t take into account the newer tires. This 991 with Cup 2 R’s (like the 992 has when tested) has a very different lap time than testing it in 2018 when these cars came out with way less sticky rubber.
@@brock7405Literally the most pointless comparison you just made there. So a racing car done a 6.48, which was actually not all that good when you consider a GT3rs isn't far off that.
@@weallfollowmanutdLmao the new Gt3 has as much aero as Mclaren lm. You are acting like it does not. Also Porsche lives in Nurburging, Mclaren is an British company so they cant even practise Nurburgring much. Lets say if Porsche tests Gt3 there 4 times a month, Mclaren drives there once, twice every six month.
PDK is for smart people who are not stubborn. The performance of these top level track cars will ALWAYS be hindered by a manual, ALWAYS. No matter who the driver is, they will always be faster in the PDK
Só Nice and impressive. I have done it in video games, Grand Turismo, but the real thing made me nervous even watching. You were one with the machine, man. Only way to run at such a high level.
@@JCviggen1 if there's understeer you handled it well! I wouldn't have the stones to send it like that. The 991 would be my ideal choice of car for the nordschleife for sure though
Fantastic skill, fast lap aided by lack of traffic (two overtakes) and enough circuit knowledge to go around blindfolded, would have liked to see the state of the tyres at the end. Really enjoyed it.
Daumen hoch.
And that is how to drive a Porsche. I'm not just talking about the absolute fearlessness - watch how early he gets on the gas on corner entry. That's the secret to these cars. All these people braking up to the very last second are totally missing the point. These cars need to have the weight on the rear tyres on corner entry - then they're on rails at ridiculous speeds like these. 👏
Driving at the limit requires precise control, anticipation, and quick decision-making. Mastering techniques like heel-toe shifting and understanding your car's dynamics is crucial. Always prioritize safety and adhere to traffic laws when pushing your limits on the road.❤❤❤❤
Very impressive! Great technique and I’m sure left-foot braking and using a clutch at the same time is not easy. You were very smooth on the back third of the track. You had a rhythm down which is what is needed. 🙌🏻
🤩well done! Very nice clean lap, now i have a good reference one for practicing 😎👊🏻 Flugplatz in 4th gear as you did here is much better than me in 5th gear! You kick me easy 2.5secs here, so now i know what to do 🤙🏻
Have fun! Hardest part is always finding a free space on track 🤣 I can see a few places I can do a little better but I don't do many laps in a year and lack a bit of confidence in high speed stuff. Flugplatz I'm happy with though that was always a good corner for me even 15 yrs ago in a Volvo 😄
@@sebastianvittel74 Yeah I know, just an FYI that most people reacting to your stories would have a hard time getting through. A friend of mine was interested in some bits but no biggie anyway
I would crash so hard if I had a delta in my face like that lol. I've done 20 laps or so BTG irl, none of them timed, I know myself. Fantastic lap in any case, you could clearly go over all corners blindfolded beginning to end.
Impressive, it's 30 km/h slower at top speed than the new Taycan and still faster around the track. I never drove a GT3, but it must handle really well!
Pro tip: remove the TPMS sensors on each wheel with high performance light weight valve stems for added performance. And fill up the tires right before you drive on the track.
I’m not sure if the driver is the perfect compliment to the car, or the car is the perfect compliment to the driver? Wow! Sign me up. How couldn’t you want to do that every chance you got?
