This man is the best,he did a 50 washer fix on the highway,he haven't tried to find a good fix lmao if it ain't broke no worries 🤣 epitomy of amerrrica ,all the best to him getting those back order parts and finish his motor
I'm sure you've seen what happened to Power Driven Diesel's 5.9 12 valve when they gave it all the spray and it decided 250 psi was just a bit too much for it
@@HotForgeChaos Yes. I have now. I have also had a motor seize and throw parts while under load and at the higher end of its RPM limits. I was at about 60 MPH and started going up a hill. Since it was only a three speed auto, this was normal for the engine, but I had a serious oil leak start and the incline caused the oil pump to be starved. I barely notice the oil pressure drop and before I could react to it, the whole car lurched to the right and twisted in that direction too. Having something like that happen when going 90+ MPH on a drag strip with a motor that was producing 8 time or more the HP would be really frightening, assuming you hadn't gotten used to that sort of event.
It really wasn't the 138psi that broke it. It was the 138psi and low rpm. I think it would have lived if it didn't double shift and pull it down so low.
Keep this trick I devised years ago for the future when you do carbutator work.. Try this... Heat the plastic tube from the carb cleaner spray with a lighter (about 1/4-1/2 inch from the end. Then pull on each end of the tube to stretch it. This makes the outer/inner tube diameter smaller and more of a pin point. When the melted plastic solidifies, use small wire clippers or nail clippers to snip the tube at the smallest diameter that still provides flow when spraying. The cleaner comes out like a pin point pressure washer and the shrunken plastic tube end fits inside whatever port your spaying thru. You can also do the same to create 90 degree angles in the plastic tube to spray sideways inside long venturi tubes. I used to make/keep custom tubes around for these situations. Hope this makes sense. BTW.... Great videos.
Saw him on the 1320 race week event thing they did, what a ripper. I thought by the end that truck was gonna be ripped in half if it ever fully grabbed and went because of how hard it launched. Bad ass dude! 💪
@@jessieharris8204 do you have a RU-vid channel or Facebook that you post on? I love cummins engines and old Chevy trucks so this thing is like the ultimate dream for me
@@leviduff2740 I dont. I work a 45 hour week. Then run a small business. Then race when I can. Just no time for it. My goal is to sleep 3 to 4 hours a night. It never happens lol. I have grown to love the drag and drive events. So what ever media coverage I get will be it for now.
I have watched about all of Rich's videos - and this might be the best yet for a "non-Deboss" unit. Rich looked like his face was going to break he was smiling so hard.
What a driver to keep that lil short wheelbase truck straight. He could probably sip a coffee while doing that. Excellent build WOW I didn't expect that.
This is my dad and his truck and what’s hilarious to me is he loves athe song and says shake hands with danger all the time and the background music is shake hands with danger spot on deboss garage
"They make bolts to do this, but not at Menards or Lowe's" man if that aint me. If its not available same day local pickup I probably dont even need it
Awesome truck, those burnouts are unbelievable! Also love the music in this one, 'Shake Hands With Danger' is such a classic and the second one sounds like Robbie Robertson's 'Somewhere Down the Crazy River' without the words.
@@jessieharris8204 you don't see them around too often....especially up here in Michigan. I had a guy at work that restored one and daily drove it in the summer. I guess I'm just a big fan of the "throw away" cars from the 80's that were all over the place when I was a kid that you just don't see anymore. Thanks to you and your son for keeping one alive.
@@jessieharris8204 they did make diesel Chevettes but definitely not Cummins powered. That would be a riot. Just like a tractor the powertrain weights more than the rest of the car lol.
