I just had to do this disassembly today, thank you for posting this since I couldn't find much reference to this exact job anywhere. This was such a blunder since none of us in the shop had done this job before, I had done it a little bit differently taking off maybe a little too many things haha But I really appreciate your attention to detail and you mentioned the torque specs as well, that coolant leak on your truck was really bad but under a pressure tester my gaskets were leaking from the passenger's side and FILLED the valley.. assembly tomorrow will report back with results!
Great video, I’m doing this job as part of the fuel disaster prevention kit install. I’ve only seen one other video but it wasn’t as detailed as yours. Thanks for including the torque specs and I like your idea of replacing the thermostat housing even if it’s not leaking.
Thanks for the video. I'm prepping to replace these same gaskets and considering pulling the turbo off so I can replace that gasket while I'm in there. I'm having some coolant intrusion in the exhaust but nothing in the oil. I'm sure fixing this would fix the intrusion (since there isn't coolant where it's not supposed to be) but I should fix everything the first time around.
Wait you have coolant in the exhaust that would most likely be coming from the egr cooler. I appreciate you watching. If you have any further questions message me on Instagram is easier to communicate.
Thanks for video. Have done it twice now. Still had a minor leak in valley and i couldn't find where the leak is. The gaskets are thick my guess is i didnt give it the 90inch lbs. The bolts were pretty rusted and full of crust on the driver side of crossover
First thing is if you did not torque the bolts then it is an iffy thing because that is the first mistake. Second is using rusty bolts. I would make sure that is where your leak is first. If you are sure that is it then get new bolts and torque it down properly. Hit me up on Instagram if you have any further questions. Thank you for watching.
Sorry about that not sure what happened. Thank you for watching and if you need any help hit me up on Instagram. Here is the link. www.amazon.com/shop/nutsboltswithtone
Not that I know of. I just snug it. If I am remembering correctly that is the pipe that connects to the heater hose. has an o ring on the end in the crossover. Just snug the bolt to keep pipe in.
I do not think temperature has anything to do with it. I does not get much colder then 28 degrees and we see it here. Thank you for watching the video.
You can still drive it however you should keep an eye on the coolant level. If the coolant level gets too low you could damage the engine. Thanks for watching.
I am not exactly sure how much time it took me, I would have to look it up on repair info at work. If you message me on my Instagram then I will look it up for you. Thank you for watching.
Either one Mahle is a great quality brand, I've found Mahle actually makes gasket sets for intake manifolds and things where a Ford only sells individual. Thanks for watching.
@@williamtran2187 You found a whole kit that covered everything? Mind if I ask where you found it? I'm putting together my shopping list on Rock Auto right now.
