My most challenging trip of 2019, The Obabika Loop, 6 Days Alone in the Wilderness, Crippling Creek is up and I am so excited! I had been wanting to check out Obabika Lake in Temagami, Ontario for quite a while now and go on another solo canoe camping trip there. Over the August long weekend, I finally had enough days off where I could do a loop of the area, and could not wait. I spent 6 days exploring, got to spend some time with native elder Alex Mathias, visited a historical place Wakimika Beach, did some gnarly portages, spent a lot of time pulling myself and my fully loaded canoe over downed trees and beaver dams on Nasmith Creek and climbed and overcame some massive log jams and obstacles on the Obabika River. I was definitely put through some serious challenges on this trip and experienced a lot of things I never have before. Once again Temagami gave as good as I got and it was the best backcountry loop ever.
