Busaru.com - Subaru Wiring Harness Video Series Part 6 - so here is a video that many have requested, the pin by pin explanation of the subaru ecu. So this is how I identify and connect the wires using the ECU pinout for a Subaru engine swap into a VW.

Hi Mick, as you pointed out, Pin 81 the Auto/Manual Identification does not exist on an Automatic. The identical code wire is found at PIN 75 and its Black with a Red stripe and a single silver bar. Thanks for your recent chat on the phone.

It's ok I contacted subaru customer service with the vehicle vin number and they emailed the Pinout sheet for 2.0L Impreza 1996 model thank you subaru,I know a lot of forums are struggling to get this info great video's thanks for replying John beavis😀

These videos are super helpful, thank you. Do you ever add a pull up resistor for the new VSS? My ZF/cherry sensor says to install a 2.4 kohm resistor, my ecu is a 03 2.5l single cam.

Hey +Busaru I finally started my engine and harness pull on my 2000 EJ25 NA Outback Legacy, using the pinout on your website I have B136 pin 11 that I cannot locate a meaning for. The donor is an AT car, if that means anything. Any advice? Thanks! Kevin

+Kevin Alberts even the factory service manual pinout don't have every connection. If it doesn't go to the engine plugs and isn't listed on the pinout sheet just coil up for now - it's probably not needed and auto trans related.

My hero! Thanks, I'll do that. I have a few stray wires from the engine plugs harness side to figure out as well. Other than looking for the same color pattern, are there plug related wire harness diagrams I can use as well?

88 renix Xj the wires that go to one of the injectors is mia the one closest to the fire wall on the injector two black i can figure out the ground but i cant find a black wire from the fire wall and on the ecu thers two black wires is one of them for the injector

Your best bet is to grab the wiring diagram and trace it that way. You can find links to the factory service manual on my website. Busaru.com

Hi, I am doing an engine and swap on a Nissan praire M12.upgrading from a qr 20 engine, cvt, to a Qr 25 engine and non cvt automatic transmission. I have some difficulty as both harnesses have some differences.need some help with the diagram for the ecu.
