Currently, things appear to be odd. Inflation is reducing the value of the US dollar, but it is strengthening in comparison to other currencies and commodities like real estate and gold. People are switching to the dollar because they believe it is safer. I worry that the rising cost of living may cause the value of my retirement savings to decline. We could put our cash right now.

Prioritizing effective personal finance management holds greater significance than the sheer amount saved, irrespective of income source. Consulting a certified financial advisor can offer tailored strategies to optimize financial results by reducing expenses and enhancing income, regardless of whether it's earned through employment or investments.

As an investment enthusiast, I often wonder how top level investors are able to become millionaires off investing. I do have a significant amount of capital that is required to start up but I have no idea what strategies and direction I need to approach to help me make over $400k like some people are this season.
@kevinmarten

I believe the safest approach is to diversify investments especially under professional; guide. You can mitigate the effects of a market meltdown by diversifying their investments across different asset classes such as stocks, etfs etc It is important to seek the advice of an expert.

Review your portfolio with a professional and don't make the same mistakes again. Diversify, as in your stock portfolio, and hopefully consult a professional. The key to building wealth is long term. I learned 30 years ago that you have to keep emotions (rookie) out of your investment decisions at all cost. Now, i've made over 800k in profits from my 350k investment.

I like your list of habits. However, one thing about you, Shelby, which doesn't apply to everyone is that you have always had a supportive family. You had that as a cushion, especially when you started out as a teenager on YT. I would say that all very successful "high net worth" people have supportive family and/or friends they can count on. Connections. Many people out there who want to make money and be successful don't have that kind of support and may even come from very tough or abusive backgrounds. Or have experienced homelessness. It's super hard to dig oneself out of a bad situation or get anywhere in the world when you're alone and have no safety net.

I agree but let's say the obvious, her beauty has a lot to do with it as well. This is not a shot against her, but I have seen better content creators with no where near the beauty she has and they struggle. She's a great creator but to act like her beauty and sex appeal has not contributed to it would be dishonest at best. Point is the beautiful people have more of a head start for success than those without.

@@gregap8282 Understood and agree for the most part. I am just pointing out for those without the attractive looks, it is much harder to get viewers no matter how engaging and informative the content is. Having beauty certainly helps just as much as working hard and establishing good content creation habits. Again, it is not a shot at Shelby or her fans at all. People are naturally drawn to beauty and that helps a lot.

BTC can disregard techincals when in a bull, did that in 2020 when it crossed previous ATH... stayed there a few weeks and continued pumping like crazy to 60k. Also, there is one constant... when around 90 on monthly RSI, the end is near. And don't expect crazy price targets of 500k... expect around 100k at most and be happy if there's more after that. If you believe big boys and CEO's of big invesment firms saying targets like 1M this cycle.. you deserve to be their exit liquidity..It's not about guessing the market's next move; it's about playing it smart and steady during trading...managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3B'tc to a decent 21B'tc in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Linda Wilburn, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

Would you rather be rich, or happy? Is being content the goal? If you feel content, you're satisfied,THAT is true wealth. For some, the money is never enough and they remain unhappy. Much of what you spoke about is true; discipline, a "stick to it" attitude, acceptance of failure being part of the journey to success, but don't confuse wealth with happiness, they don't necessarily correlate. While this was a well done video and congratulations on that, you missed something really important: True abundance is not measured by what you have, it is measured by what you give.
@johnpoldo8817
@johnpoldo8817 2 месяца назад
No, wealthy vs happy is not an either or situation. You can have wealth and be happy or sad. Similarly, you can be poor and have either feelings. You would be surprised how many lower income families are very happy. If you are materialistic and want lots of nice things, you better find a way to make enough money to buy them or expect a very disappointing life. Unearned wealth such as winning the lottery or a big inheritance brings long term sadness in 75% of the situations.
@murraypollard
@murraypollard 2 месяца назад
@@johnpoldo8817 The point is money for the sake of money does not mean happiness in all cases despite what marketing sells us, large amounts of unearned money can and does bring problems on it's own. Lotteries, amongst other things, well, most people know how to spend money, its what we are taught, not a lot know how to make money.

I missed the part where she said wealth = happiness. The point of the video was how she became a millionaire. Her content never seems to focus on wealth being the essential ingredient to happiness. Great video! A habit that has helped me is to have a “maintenance” mindset. Spend the money to maintain what you already own. It’s costs a lot less to change filters, repair leaks, top off fluids, than it does to buy new. Manage your financial life in the same way - maintain your budget, keep track of your spending, consolidate accounts, etc. Maintenance isn’t as fun as replacing, but it’s how to build a high net worth.

Shelby never listen to the "sure but" people. Jealousy shows it's ugly head in people all the time. One of the first signs is when people say, "Sure she's rich but she's pretty or went to college or is tall or has a rich family or started early in youtube or comes from a good home or blah, blah, blah." These people DREAM of doing great things without ever TRYING to do great things. "SURE BUT' statements are a jealous way to refuse to give credit to those who are willing to persevere to achieve success. True success comes from using what YOU have, not from pointing out what you have not. If you have a hammer and nails maybe it would be difficult to build a skyscraper, then how about a chair to sit in....start there. Thanks for the video and inspiration. Keep up the good work.

all she did in the video was buy 1 share every so often of "VOO" which is a Vanguard fund, which tracks the S&P 500, kinda like a 401K but she is buying shares every so often herself on an app instead of the 'managed' 401K. The S&P often goes up over time, but buying shares (especially when it has gone down) can over time increase the value of your money. Just consistently buying 1 share (or even fractional shares where you can buy a fraction of a share if you dont have the money for 1 share), over time likely increases. Your fund can sometimes loose money- there is always risk (like dips during housing crash and covid) but it usually rebounds. Vangaurd funds that track indexes like (S&P, Nasdaq, Dow) are the safest bets. I WOULD NOT "day trade" if clueless as people often will loose their money and NEVER buy penny stocks. Take it safe and buy parts or 1 share of Vanguard funds every so often is the message she was doing.

Good video! Influencer money (or any other high paying job) does the trick though. I live all of these habits and unfortunately, I still won´t become a millionaire by the time I retire unless the stock market goes super super well. A lot of jobs don´t pay that well as youtube/ influencer jobs do. So you can only invest so much. And not everybody can and wants become an influencer. Luckily, because we need people working all kinds of jobs (low, mid and big salary) for society to work the way it does.

I think it's also important to acknowledge the luck factor. No hate (and I really enjoy these videos!) but it's important to keep the perspective that following these habits and not reaching a goal like "$1m by 29" isn't failure. It's a great achievement (and credit where it's due!) but realistically it takes some luck in addition to good habits. Not that this isn't valuable advice that would certainly improve your odds though. IMO the most important implicit advice here is to follow your passions and define success based on that, not necessarily on a concrete monetary objective.

Having a bias towards action. I love that phrase , well put. I had heard somewhere that a lot of us are net consumers ( watching tv,reading stuff online ,basically taking in or consuming stuff )and that what we should concentrate on is to become net producers. To make or produce rather than always consuming . Not sure where I heard that from but it’s helpful I think. Always love your content Shelby ,even if RU-vid thinks it’s not quite up to whatever , lol. It’s always great IMO. Make Monica post more often! Hahahaha ! Love her too! Oh and congrats to the new couple ! Excited for everybody! Love + peace!

Cooking is such a necessary habit. I am never eating out for as long as I live. I cook all my meals. Increase food storage to bank on pantry items if inflation feels impossible to beat or prefer not to take multiple trips to grocery shop. Turning an entire closet into a pantry can save on grocery bills & invest money for the long term. Also eating is like a lifelong need, so you might as well develop meal prepping and budgeting habits from just that. I'm 23 and my goal networth is 3 million. I'm hopefully gonna manifest that if I invest every month from what I save on cooking from home and groceries.

I sat out to be a Day Trader about 2 years ago, and i've had my share of failures, but i kept at it and developing better habits like exercising has done WONDERS for my discipline which was the real game changer for me. You should totally do a video on your failures and successes over the years!

Shelby, what zipcode were you born in? What was your parents' net worth when you were growing up? For me, and most other people, we're told when to work by our boss. For people who make content for social media platforms, sure these tips are helpful. But for those of us that have to punch in, work, and punch out? "Invest your money" Rent and bills are hard enough to pay. You think $20 a month is enough to invest in something before I hit retirement age? You were born into a life of privilege and are giving advice that CANNOT apply to middle and lower class people. Making money is easy when you have money. For those that need money, these "tips" are less than helpful.

Great point... Rather than waking up early, investing (whatever little money you have), taking more risks, exercising, being good at failing, and having bias towards action, you should recognize that you're poor and stop trying 🤣 honestly, this attitude is "less than helpful"

@@fatcat22able she's not from a wealthy background but solid middle class as she mentioned both her parents are teachers in the public school system. but she been on youtube since she was 12 and since we know youtube is not just what kind of content you put out but also looks related too as in real life good looking people have better results at anything compared to non good looking people so by the time she was in high school she was already making money comparable to someone working a real job in teh 50k a year range then by the time she was out of school she was making six figures from youtube. then she got sponsors, in other platforms and being as smart as she is she also inveted in rental property stocks funds cryptos etc so it's not hard to imagine her being a millionaire by age 30. if anything given as much money is rolling in her coffers it would be impossible not to be a millionaire by 30. she's got the money avalance thing going on here. she even said in 2022 or 2023 she was making $ 1million a year from youtube. ok like to regular people that is incomprehensible in terms of just how much money is flowing to her pockets. she's beyond 1%. the IRS said you make $600k you're in the 1% she's now in the elite fraction of a 1% club. her sister monica church being a real estate agent in the seattle washington area can amass a yearly income just selling houses making $500k a year... not including her own youtube income...
