Manners Bananers I didn’t say it was. Guessing that he was either brought in to help rescue & restore the property or else he has been working there and following the owners lead. Either way, a lesser person than Saskia would have found it challenging to not comment more negatively about the circumstances. She vented a bit of course but her overall tone and approach makes it easier for others who may see the vids and need help with an out of control piggy situation more likely to reach out.

Brats Pack It's okay to comment, but when you comment negatively too much you run a high risk of seeming unwelcoming, which shames people that have pigs in similar curcuntances into not rehoming. So it's better to keep your venting for after you leave. Besides, he was just the one that took care of the house and pigs, not the one that brought them there.

It's so sad the key deers raccoons, possums, there's barely any left. As for the key deers I don't know if we have any of those Left cuz they were smaller type of deer.

Agreed , reptiles need to eat as well and quite a few snakes won't mess with a meal they didn't " prepair" themselves. But there's absolutely a way to do it while limiting the food animals suffering

I absolutely agree! I farm my own beetles for my own mealworms/superworms and have my own roach colony for my beardies so that I know their living conditions are clean and that they are treated ethically!

Add in their disgusting environment filled with their own filth (and corpses), whatever they're being fed to is likely to get sick. Even if an animal is simply meant to be food, you give them basic necessities. You give them a clean living space of adequate size, sufficient food and water, stimulation, and care throughout its existence. Even animals practice food safety-- birds may ferment their food or dry it out to create a form of jerky; bees produce their own antibacterial secretions; squirrels will pick food stashes of certain temperatures, etc. This is even true when it comes to crops. Farmers carefully cultivate and maintain their fields, count and measure the amount of crops in an area, use fertilizer and pesticide, and further tend to the plant with weeding, trimming, or stemming as it grows.

Saskia is definately one brave, very strong woman! I often go to pieces watching direct rescues. Rescuers and fosters, volunteers, all very amazing people, fighting for those less fortunate ♥️

Yeah. And a big garden with plenty of space to grow stuff. And probably around LA. I live in sweden and love the summer months when theres loads of free guinea pig food.

Sprinkles and Wrinkles I live in Australia, and I can still get some of my piggies food from the garden. Legit just cloves that have grown on their own, cost me no money and I feed them with it.

Their purpose was to be fed to the pet snakes. Still no excuse, the Guinea pigs should be cared for properly so they are healthy. After all, the snakes would be healthier if they eat good quality food.

Small animals need animal volunteers and foster parents to care for them all across the world! You can help a local rescue that exists or help others in the community start one.

I think they’re terrible pet keepers. You want to feed good food to your pets, whatever they may be. Terrified, inbred guinea pigs that had barely anything to eat and were smelling like rotten corpses are definitely not premium snake food.

Exactly! I have a snake and my mice have mansions and toys and lots of premium food! I would never treat them badly simply because they're "food", plus I want my snake to have good quality food as well...

I absolutely agree. I breed rats for my snakes. My rats live and eat extremely well. I humanely euthanize them before they are food, as all my snakes eat frozen thawed.

I do not condone the terrible treatment of those guinea pigs, but some snakes will only eat live prey items. And snakes usually kill humanely IMO from my experience it's rare that a prey will survive more than 1 minutes after being constricted.

@@Sekhmet19aspie very true, I have no problem with feeding live as long as it's a must because that is the only way the snake will eat and if it is supervised so that the snake being fed isn't hurt while trying to feed :) I should have specified that I assume they probably fed live just because they didn't bother learning about the different types of feeding that are out there. You know? Like if they don't bother to research how to properly care for their feeder animals then I doubt that they would have bothered to learn proper care for their snake. I feel sorry for all the animals involved. I wish there were better laws about these sorts of things

Not all snake owners have such a disgusting disregard for small animals. I own a snake and literally walk 2 hours in order to access frozen feeder mice from a place ik ethically sourced them instead of going 5 minuites down the road to a place I don't really trust to treat and kill them humanely. I also own a hamster who I love alot. I always get annoyed when I see snake owners add to the bad reputation.

Exactly! Even if your animal is essentially ‘livestock’ you still have a basic duty of care to it. And can’t imagine it’s great for a snake to eat a sickly animal that’s been sitting in its own defecation
