Mr. X climbing the ladder or jumping down the ladder are my favorite things to see people react to. No one is ever ready for Mr. X to move on the Y axis.
Mister X is a terrifying enemy for many reasons. He shows up at a point where the player has already explored and familiarized themselves with most of the RPD's rooms, hallways and general layout. They have become comfortable with the RPD, because they have come to understand it's rules and inner workings. Then all of a sudden this completely random new enemy shows up. An enemy that relentlessly hunts you down, cannot be killed only momentarily stunned and follows and patrols the ENTIRE building looking for you. Remember the safety of the main hall where enemies couldn't enter? Not anymore. That hope is immediatly shattered the moment you see him follow you in there or run into him already being in that hall. Every room, every hallway you enter feels like there's an invisible timer above you, screaming at you that he's coming any second, that you need to get out of there as fast as you can. But DON'T RUN! What if he's already around the corner? What if he's in that room you're trying to get to? What if he comes walking through that door you're running towards? You could hide in a safe room, but you'll just prolong the inevitable by cornering yourself in one of those rooms. Waiting for an enemy that you have no idea which hallway or direction it could be coming. Trapped inside this maze of a building that you once travelled through like it was nothing, having suddenly become a prison with the only other inmate patrolling the rooms and hallways with a single goal... seeing you dead...
This is the only horror game that has ever gotten me to scream out loud. I was in the library, running away from Mr. X, and started climbing up a ladder to get away from him. Once I got to the top, I turned around and looked down to see how close he was. Somehow, he was already next to me on the same level and his fist came in from off screen and hit me. I'm still not sure how he got that close to me that fast.
Oh the joys of watching people react to Mr. X for the first time. It truly is a thing that makes him one of my favorite stalker-type enemies in gaming.
Pastra playing horror games is the most entertaining thing ever mainly because it's genuinely relatable, like when he has a genuine scared/terrified reaction I just think "I'd probably be reacting the same way"
yeah true, but now that I think about it sometimes I'm actually really quiet when scared lol... when my mom and I had a minor car accident and I was completely silent even tho there was broken glass on my lap
I can just imagine Clyde, the literal demon/alien thing of a Veldigun that he is just shitting bricks over Mr X. Like, he's an unknown monster with completely abnormal and strange powers but his weakness is just a man with a parasite inside of him. And angel booba, but that's not entirely related here.
You’ know a game that causes fear depending were your at is Lisa the painful, and it’s sequel, and literally almost every major fan game. Especially Lisa the hopeful. It’s less fear, and more dread with the feeling of uncomfortably. I highly recommend these games.
I don't know why but imagining Pastra, this squiggly long armed monster, being terrified of MrX is a hilarious thing. Even your terror and exasperation are pure joy.
Pastra's like "There's nothing to fear but fear itself" But when he feels a little bit of fear it quickly cascades into more fear because he's afraid of fear checkmate eldritch abominations lol
What scares Pastra more? A psychological horror monster that tortures you by showing you your worst fears, or a really big man that's going to punch you in the face?
We all gather here today to pay our respects to Pastra. He was a kind man and an inspiration to many. We shall wish him farewell. 😔 *PASTRA 2018-2023* *DIED BY SOME SILLY HORROR GAME*
I really want to see you play through the whole game, as well as resident evil 4 remake. Re4r has amazing pacing between the action, horror, and downtime, and it is awesome. I'd love to see you play through it!
I thought this was another arg of some sort due to the thumbnail where Pastra would get tormented again, but then I looked at the looming man more. Top hat? Check. Trenchcoat? Check. Check the video? RE2 Remake. It's Mr. X.
Finally played this game and I love it, actually one of the scariest experiences I've had in a while. Scariest part of mr x has got to be when you incorrectly guess his position from sound or when you think you're far away from him and he teleports over
Mr.X especially in Leon's story is the never ending threat that appears (scripted or not) the worst time possible, even in other gamemodes like the 4th survivor and gives re2 that extra tense atmosphere.
Resident Evil seven's atmosphere scared me the most out of all the games. The Resident Evil 2 remake's gameplay scared me so bad I couldn't even finish this comparis--.....
I like both of the Mr. X chase themes from the Remake and the Original. They both give the feeling that something big and very bad are coming after you and you need to run like hell.
oh man, i remember learning the hard way that he climbs ladders like an absolute beast, except he was right on my tail, and his stomping around on the floor above you scares me so much more thanks to trauma. that said this makes me want to replay re2make now
Yo pastra, recently this movie came out on youtube called emesis blue and i think youd like it Its a source filmmaker movie using the tf2 lore as a basis and its very scary, it clearly loves the horror genre So yeah hope u find the time to watch it!
Might I recommend a thing to review, it is not horror games like you usually do. But an SFM. Emisis blue: it is a physiological horror based on the tf2 cast. I was genuinely terrified for most of the film and I loved it a lot. I would love to see your opinion on it as well
I played through the game myself this week, I HAD heard about the Tyrant but I really just thought that he’d be more of a minor annoyance than anything. My god I couldn’t have been more wrong. You make ANY sort of noise and he IMMEDIATELY knows your location, the guy is EVERYWHERE, LITERALLY EVERYWHERE. There’s this altercation right outside of the safe room where you use the film rolls to reveal photos, that you can run up the staircase to go to the 2nd or 3rd floor, or run back the licker hallway to get back to the main hall. I wanted to go to the library because I had to proceed to the clock room, and Mr fucking X was right outside the safe room. And I swear that not only he’s everywhere, motherfucker is also sentient. WHENEVER I TOLD MYSELF I WAS GONNA GO UP, HE WAS HALFWAY THROUGH THE STAIRS, IF I WANTED TO GO TO THE LOBBY, HE WAS ALSO THERE, HE KNEW WHERE I WAS GOING ALL THE TIME. I love him so much but CHRIST he’s horrifying.
Every time i see pastra playing a game in one of his videos i wish more and more that there was somewhere i could watch content from him just in general
I'm a massive wuss when it comes to scary stuff and especially scary games, so I'll take Pastra's reaction as a hint to never touch a Resident Evil game ever. 😅
