The "prank" camera videos are usually accessing unsecured cams. The very expensive security cameras that are used in businesses, that are secured, are a worse problem as some of the operating systems on them can be bypassed
Just be glad they played music... The ones that don't is the ones that normally want the information. Unless their just sickos, then shove em in jail for a bit.
No one is safe any more. My grandma used to say that people should never be afraid of the dead but should be very afraid of the living. Now I understand what she meant by that.
How absolutely horrifying for Katie to be held hostage, probably assuming she was going to die, to be robbed by someone she thought of as a friend - you would have serious trust issues after that
We’ve had issues with friends before, now we try to meet publicly rather than at home. If it’s at home which is rare, it’s always an outside thing. We also have a remote control gate. We’ve had to close the gate on people and they’ve camped out there for a couple hours. People are insane stay safe
I hope Katie's "friend" got the maximum sentence because she made the robbery possible and I hope they catch the scumbag that put Katie in a headlock!!! I wish nothing but the worst for those three pos criminals!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
8:45 - The guy is probably still in the house. There have been stories where people live secretly in the attic, other unknown areas of the house. etc, with the owners having no idea. This could explain why there was no sign of breakin. The guy never broke in, nor did he leave. Chills for you. You're Welcome.
There was a case about 10 years ago where a guy was living in a family’s AC vents. The son of the family claimed that he saw someone he didn’t recognise making a hot drink in the kitchen one night, but his family just dismissed it. Several months later, there was an awful smell in the house. They checked the vents to find the body of the deceased intruder.
Charles Manson's followers used to do it. They called creepy crawling, very accurate description. I bet some of these watchers go on to become violent.
I remember sneaking around while my parents were asleep and have done this before, my mind went into this weird loop of "are they actually asleep? how do I do stuff without waking them... but are they actually asleep?" as creepy as it looks if it's anything like that, they may be just having a panic attack and a large dose of adrenaline
Katie is extremely lucky that the perpetrators noticed the camera because it likely saved her life. Considering Katie knew the woman, and given the fact they were not wearing masks or disguises indicates they were likely going to kill her so as to not leave any witnesses. Once they realized there was no way to delete the footage, they knew they were all going down for the home invasion, but decided not to make things any worse than they already were. A few months ago I was walking behind a small strip mall when suddenly a car stopped next next to me and the two passengers got out and demanded I hand over my cell phone and wallet. I told them I didn't have a wallet or any money, and I flat out refused to give them my phone. One of the guys had ahold of me by my shirt so I wasn't able to run away. The passenger got out, and as he was walking around the front of the car toward me and the guy who was holding onto my shirt, I saw he had a gun in his hand so I immediately pointed to each end of the building and told them there were security cameras recording their every move so they better get the f*** out of there before they did something they were going to regret for the rest of their lives over a cell phone that would lead the cops right to them. The kid with the gun immediately turned around and got back in the car and they took off.
@@philiptownsend4026 I live in St. Louis, which has held the dubious distinction as being the most dangerous city in America for the past several years.
@@birdflipper That is a dubious distinction Sir (or Madam?). I originally came from London England which is pretty dangerous these days too with knife crime and gangs. I now live in Slovakia (next to Ukraine!) For a little more than four years and have never heard of a crime being committed let alone seeing or being a victim of one. Nonetheless, there are a lot of police about, all armed and I still can't get used to that as where I come from the police are not armed except for a few specialists called in when necessary. Take care and stay safe.
@@philiptownsend4026 It feels like gun crime in America is so pervasive that law abiding citizens will never be able to feel safe with or without guns. Gun prohibition will never work.. there are simply too many guns on the street that end up in the wrong hands, and as such most legal owners aren't going to willingly give up their guns without a fight. On top of that, there are cities like San Francisco, CA. that have made the idiotic decision to defund the police, with predictable results. 🤯 Honestly, even with everything going on in Ukraine, it's probably less dangerous to live there! Of course I'm (mostly) just joking, and I don't mean to sound like I'm minimizing the plight of the Ukrainians at all, but hearing multiple gunshots is a daily thing here in St. Louis- not much difference than being in a warzone. I envy the peace of mind and security you must feel.
First one is freaking terrifying because a person who is unafraid of being caught is completely unstable. And the fact that he stood at the bedside quietly watching them sleep instead of getting the hell out of there is heart stopping. Only a psychopath would walk past you in your own home and afterwards calmly suggest you need to keep your door locked.
@@LadyAstarionAncuninI wouldn't say that. A thief and someone who violates a person are not the same per say. Not every thief is looking to r/murder a person. I detest thieves as well but the logic that theives become, r'ers become homicidal isn't completely accurate. I think psychopaths (true/no empathy) individuals only steal after they've gotten what they wanted, there is something to say about someone whose brazen enough to enter a house knowing people are inside vs entering a house planning on no one being in side. People steal for a lot of reasons the rush being one of the biggest I don't think everyone who does is automatically a murderer.. I don't think the two are directly correlated as you implied
@@AH-ov1pe it depends what they're stealing. That's the key. If you're stealing for money, I'd say there's a huge gap between those people and people who R others... I think you might be confusing B&E with stealing for monetary reasons. The 2 diff types are people who break and enter for money and people who break and enter for items. The guy who b&e and takes a pair of panties I'd say is 99% more likely to commit a physical crime. The people b&e for crap to pawn a lot less likely. There is a big difference between the two sociopaths. (Which they both are).... is there a correlation between people who do b&e's and violent offenders? Yes. Is there a correlation between people who b&e and steal valuables? I'd venture to guess it's starkly different. Most of the future r....ists usually are taking personal possessions and doing it in a way that makes it not obvious. While the other side is trashing and stealing... I hope that makes sense? There's a big diff from the guy who plunders and destroys vs the guy who ninjas in and steals a couple pairs of undies. Most r'ist are not looking to get caught, they don't want anyone to know they've been there.
Having your camera hacked is creepy as hell. However, having a camera in your kids bedroom is wrong. Children need the security of knowing they can have privacy. I'm not talking about babies and toddlers. I'm speaking of adolescents and teens. It's not right.
You’ve clearly never had to take care of a teen with a severe handicap or mental disability. You can’t be with them 24/7 so having a camera/monitor in their room is almost always the only thing you can do. They are still able to be independent but you are able to hear if they need help, especially if they are non verbal.
@@mombiethezombie7536 I wasn NOT referring to that teen. They showed another one. Plus, I know of a couple who had a camera set up in there teen daughter's room and she felt so uncomfortable. Of course I understand why there was a camera in the room with the disabled child. It wouldn't make sense not to have one
Yep. Or they hack your computer and pretend to be your friend to gain information. Who needs enemies when you have family like that :) Couldn't understand why my dad was always angry and finding things out (like me wanting to work at my moms for the summer, and being kicked out for wanting to do that...and not, understanding why it happened..) - then I learned he had all these diplomas for computer science.
The guy who was filmed crouching in the baby's room is scary, but what's even scarier is that he took the dogs shock collar remote. To me, that makes it sound like he could have been planning to come back.... there's no good reason to take that other than wanting to prevent the dog from barking... (the part @8:52 btw)
Or they just lost the remote and couldn't find it, so they assumed he took it. We have seen that you can hack into this devices. Sending a photo shopped picture to the owner showing a person sitting by the child is just as easy. The police found no hints how the person got in the house, or any traces he was there. She saw the photo and ran straight to her daughter and nobody was in the room. That all suggest he was never there.
I hate to even say it because I hate when people throw it around for everything, but I wouldn't be surprised if she was jealous of her friend and planned to do worse.
The man in the nursery is one of my BIGGEST fears. When we bought a house, we got a security camera and door alarms immediately. I still have to check my daughter all the time. We also have dogs though, so they would wake us up too.
I found this channel randomly and it's now among my favourite channels. It is really a channel that produces quality content. Thanks for all the hard work. Take care ❤️
What a shitty friend. To go and rob your own friend who also has kids..I hope that factor, of her taking advantage like that and using her friendship as a tool to gain trust, adds to her sentence. What a rotten thing to do.
I was thinking the same thing. Someone in the comments said that they didn't believe that she was intended to survive the robbery. Under normal circumstances, she would have ID'd the "friend". When these idiots realized that it would only make their situation worse, they started saying "I don't rob people", etc. (just pathetic)🤥🙄. I think that the camera saved her life because there was nothing they could do to get rid of the footage. This "friend" had kids. I hope that there was some kind of child protective service that came with her sentence/probation, for what it's worth.
“Yeah I don’t rob people.” Sure you don’t, buddy. Maybe he was coerced into it by that stupid C U Next Tuesday but lol, too late, already opened your mouth 🤣
Same! especially as a parent. Only thing I caught on my baby monitor was my daughter do a loud fart when she was a few months old 😂 Funniest thing ever and I'm glad it wasn't a scary moment like the one in the video.
We had a neighbor who is now in prison for something non related to this, who had been breaking into our home and stealing items we most likely wouldn't miss. Most disturbing was the fact he'd talk to my daughter when she was a toddler and told us of this, but said it was dreams. We found out a few years lator when changing providers, and had to install a new router, when I noticed a device that should have been in the garage a few years, requested connection. Looked in garage to find a lot of old electronics gone, and gps tracking showed so many trips to and from our home, it was frightening to know someone was getting in. Police only willing to do a civil standby, since we couldn't give a date when items were stolen. The neighbor who lived behind us would use the device to get new network passwords using the saved router password to get the new info. It explained the argument I had with my old provider, on copyright infringement warnings, as we kept saying it wasn't us, even checked one title that was all Spanish. Took a few more years to find out how he was getting in, but that day came. We adopted several cats, mine bonded to my daughter and would sneak off to be with her at night. Something I will never prevent him doing. One night, we found out how he got in. He would pull a window air conditioner flap to the side, reach in and unlock my daughter's outer door and walk in. That night, he stuck his arm in, and got one hell of a surprise. My cat Snowy, launched himself from her bunkbed and tore into the guys outstretched arm. Hall camera caught part of the battle as I rushed in as he got thrown. Neighbor got a lot of stitches, and the mess was quite scary as my cat obviously hit an artery on the guys arm. My wife quickly removed our kids. Wasn't allowed to clean a thing for a week till investigation was done. I removed all window ACs and got central air/heat installed. Years lator, found out the guys only in prison, because he robbed another neighbor of some pot plants when he took off, and stupidly got arrested in another state because the plants were blowing out his side van window, in a state where it's still illegal lol.
Probably just commenting up above about how my dogs have the mind and my kids life period animals are the best security systems that ever have period if you notice in all these videos not one of them have a dog or even a cat for that matter period
“IP Camera trolling” you mean literal stalking like a bunch of creeps🤨Call it for what it is, watching people while they don’t know they’re being watched is not normal and if you have a desire to do that, seek help. Do us all a favor please.
It's like how people don't look at d pics for what they are. They're flashers. Only worse because the image doesn't go away. They're not any different from the town creep that drives around and swings his d in front of uninterested strangers.
@@Lobsterwithinternet i mean it's still the intruders fault. 100% of the time. even if a victim did something dumb or left a door open people can very much choose not to enter.
@@petra2123 And how often has that worked out? I take it not well since people are still trying to break into houses and cars since I last checked. The same reason you change the locks when you lose your keys is the same reason you should change your passwords regularly. What they did was the equivalent of leaving their doors unlocked or not changing their locks when their keys go missing. Don't be surprised if someone decides to intrude.
I don't get the idea of "LOL LET'S HACK CAMERA FEEDS" as "pranks". It's privacy invasion. Clear as day. [edit]: the amount of people defending camera hacking scares me.
It is the ones that don't let you know they're watching you...those oe's are unnerving. If they say something, or play a song it is likely a prank, but a helpful one. They've let you know that the cameracan be hacked. So thanks for that.

The first guy: I’m not above robbing your ass but I wouldn’t want the wrong person finding out your door is unlocked. There’s some bad people out there.
Sometimes they stand and watch sleeping victims to make sure they're asleep enough you can steal from them without waking them. Ok, so the "friend" (Cheyenne?) that came to rob Katie (I think her name was), was dumb AF. Even without the camera, which she should've known was there anyway, the victim knows whom you are and can give your name to the police. Probably also your address and place of work for that matter. Which means, of the 3, the "friend" is the most likely to go down. Seriously, how stupid. 🤦🏻♀
I had read another comment stating that since none of them had masks and Katie knew who they were, that they probably weren’t planning on keeping Katie alive.
Hi Leila, thanks for the Mr.Nightmares mention, I just went & found & subbed. I am always interested in True Story "stuff" and I am fairly new to YT altogether so thanks for the new addition of Channels I am interested in :)
Lazy Masqurade is really good after all these years. Another guy who doesn't upload anymore sadly is Skinned Locust but his stories are really good and audio use is well placed.
This channel is better than those "juggernauts". They are mainstream and boring. Most of the crap they upload is just narrative. By the time the actual action even comes in, I have already lost interest and moved onto something else. YAAWN
It's strange, but watching vids like this actually makes me MORE leery about putting up security cams around my home. I'd be scared of what they might catch.
Some one once told me that if " If intruders come in the day, they just want your stuff, but when they come at night, they want YOU!" Which is mostly accurate. Creepy still.
I really don't think the staring the intruders do in the first and last video can be assumed to be indicative of more sinister motives, like this narrator implies. It looks like they are trying to ascertain if the people are in a level of deep sleep that would allow the robber to move about without waking them up...
I feel like that last burglar was completely unprepared to find someone sleeping on the couch & was probably standing there trying to figure out what to do next since things just got way more complicated.
I'm inclined to agree. If he was there to rob the house, I think he just kind of was stuck between leaving or staying to rob the place. That being said, it could also be that he broke in just to do it. Manson's followers used to do it so if he's read anything about that, if he wanted to see if he could get in/out unnoticed, if it's behaviour that will escalate... who knows?
Or contemplating an attack. A LOT of robbers move up to r,ape and then m,urder. It's statistical fact that robbers/home invaders work their way up to SA and then taking people's lives.
Vampires exists though. Mosquitos, bat's, even butterflies...,🤣 Besides, one must be really arrogant to claim to know enough about the World to claim "supernatural" beings aren't real. Still, I agree. Us humans are the actual monsters.
Accessing web cams is easier than you think, there are now services out there that let you view any available webcam that is online for free, some even let you input coord's and pull up all available cams in that area that are transmitting live online.
If somebody breaks into the house of their own friend with the intent of robbing them not wearing masks their intentions was to kill her until they realize the camera was there and they couldn't do anything about the footage
@@TheOneGuy1111 tbh Cheyenne was the biggest idiot there 😹 she couldn’t bother to look for cameras before robbing n was completely dumbfounded when there was , people are so stupid sometimes you can’t even be surprised🤦🏻♀️
@@TheOneGuy1111 >"why not start with that" 1. Because they may need her to answer questions about where stuff is 2. Because you leave fewer tracks if anything "bloody" is done after the burglary, not before
I'll never understand why people would want security cameras recording them inside their house. Like, I get having a camera turned on when youre not home, but just having it running all the time is super creepy Edit. To clerify, I think that having cameras in the entrances of your house/your yard/your driveway running 24/7 is a good idea, but having them just in your living room is weird
I’d rather not need it and have it, than to need it and not have it. I get why it seems odd. But imagine getting burglarized ,or worse ,and not having video of it as evidence.
I had a camera watching over my patient I was taking care of 24/7 at home. The reason for it was to protect me and to protect him in case abuse was happening or being claimed.
@@dustinsindledecker154 LMAO I don’t like some republican viewpoints either, but tbh it would be some socialist if they’re thinking “what’s yours is mine”
In story 6, this goes to show you can’t trust anyone, not even your friends. Happy that Katie was unhurt and that her so-called “friend” was caught and arrested.
The man hearing the song playing... you don't even need to "hack" into someone's camera. Many people don't password lock them, so you can just click right into them and run them. EDIT: There's even websites that promote unlocked cams in homes, businesses, etc. with free access into them 24/7. You don't need to register with the website or anything. However, a person can email these companies to have them taken off the list of cams.
There’s nothing more horrific getting up and hearing a sound. As you stand staring out your door down the hallway, trying to stay silent. So you can hear if they’re getting the house, or already in the house.
😳😳😳😳😳 Everybody said I was being too paranoid, when I wouldn't allow cameras or smart tv's into my house!! I told everybody this could happen, while everyone was jumping on the bandwagon putting these devices in every room of the house and logging their smart devices on, I was being made fun of And now look!! I was right! Nope! I'm good with leaving my house just the way it is 👍
I can see it at night or when you're away, but no way wat would I have cameras on while family is home & certainly never in bedroom or bathroom. Bet the security company can get in there anytime they want as well. Big nope. Like my privacy.
If you don't put it on a public network where other people can access it, I don't see the danger. You just have to make sure your personal network cannot be accessed and you can effectively convince a potential intruder that the footage has already been uploaded to a cloud.
Recently in my country there was a bit of a scandal with a security company that provides cameras, door security systems and are on call to send security people if an alarm goes off or a panic button is pressed or something. The people working for the security company were caught watching live feed or recordings of security cameras from people's homes in to see people disrobing in the evening and that kind of stuff.
This is why I will always have at least one large and capable dog in my home while I sleep. Sure cameras help, but only after the fact. If some of these creeps had other intentions besides robbery, the people sleeping would've been helpless to stop them. My dogs will wake up the neighborhood if someone actually got in my house in the middle of the night, while they play tug of war with that person's limbs.
Same. I have two German shepherd and a Dutch shepherd that sleep inside. I can replace things outside, but god forbid someone comes in. I also have a gun and taser next to the bed
In another video of his, there was an intruder who sneaked past 2 sleeping dogs. Any living thing that has the ability to sleep should never be the only means of security in a house.
Thieves are some of the worst lowlife. Going into someone's home especially when they are there is just messed up. I absolutely h*te thieves. I wish I was their judge and jury. Chilling scares everytime you drop a video I drop everything else to watch it! You never disappoint and your voice is so creepy and unique , I love it😵
trolling can be fun in games or just on twitter etc. but when you start invading someones privacy and hacking their cameras and scaring them thats a step way too far
I think alot of those clips where the theif is "staring" at people sleeping has more to do with verifying they aren't going to wake up vs. any actual creep factor...that said they ARE total creeps that's for sure!

I used to have one of those old fashioned monitors when my son was a baby. (24 yrs ago). It had been given to me. I'm not sure how it worked technology-wise but it had channels. At the time, I was staying over at my sister's house. One day while my son was napping, I heard a man's voice coming from my receiving end. I was so freaked out that I woke up my son, put him in his pram and went to where my sister was. She was in a tavern with her friends. I didn't care. Probably a trucker talking into his CB radio. Freaky times, even back then.
My nextdoor neighbors were active duty US marines and would keep the garage door and house doors open at night with the house completely dark. The 3 of them rented the house and they told me that they would love to have someone try to come in and burglarize the house. Each room had its own hidden arsenal of weapons and I think if anyone would have been foolish enough to come in uninvited, I seriously think they would've locked him in. Welcome to America.
@@viktorbraginski Kinda depends on the state. I'm thinking of that case where two teenagers had repeatedly burgled this guy's house and he rushed home when he saw them drive by and lied in wait to shoot them when they came down the stairs. The police said if that was all he probably would've been clear. However he set up a recording and executed them when they were lying on the ground and didn't report it until the next day. This was in Minnesota where they have a "reasonable threat" doctrine and he was given a life sentence because he killed them after they were no longer considered a reasonable threat. In a castle doctrine state, he might have been acquitted entirely.
