Good vid. I think some caveats should've been made more clear though. Calling chrome Open Source deserved an asterisk since the parts of it that aren't open source (the google parts on top of chromium) are the parts that are a greater concern for privacy/security. I think it's also important to point out that firefox cad, and is often set up to not really be very private at all. Sure its a little more than chrome by default, but to really benefit from it, you've gotta do some tweaking, or use a resource like betterfox or arkenfox. On the other end though, Firefox CAN be hardened *significantly* on its own, and with responsible use of plugins.

Chrome is Not open source, its engine that it's built on 'Chromium' is open source, and it's actually a browser itself, just way more private than google chrome.

I had 22 years in I.T. from 1995 at 38 until retirement. My daily driver is Opera, but... I don't use the current Opera One. I use the last version before Opera One and have disabled the update module My Browser for banking and purchases is the Avast Secure Browser. Why don't you know about the Avast Secure Browser?

this video should be a little alarming with all the misses and incorrect info on some of the features ..Am I being to picky by thinking this video is not a great source for facts when it comes to making an educated personal decision ? I see you have year of IT work in your field and just curious if I'm being ridiculous and should over look all the little things many comments are pointing out .... especially bc I am new to all of this and I'm trying to educate myself on becoming more knowledgeable. with everything when it comes to using the internet and technology and the basics when it comes to are browsers that we use from the get-go... I just feel like this might be getting me off on the wrongs but even trying to gather some information before I start learning to code I mean I'm a brand brand new as in yesterday just picked up a book for beginners on coding and now I'm just kind of exploring different creators with content to where I could possibly start getting information that would help me learn more about the internet in about this topic as a whole

Странно, если вы были специалистом в сфере IT - вы должны были знать что Опера браузер абсолютно небезопасен с точки зрения собираемой и передаваемой информации пользователей. Опера уже не тот каким был раньше, теперь он принадлежит китайской компании, этот ещё пол беды, браузер Опера может передать вашу информацию по запросу силовых структур "ФСБ" а российские правоохранительные органы никогда не соблюдают закон о праве частной неприкосновенности.

They should not be offering advice unless they actually know what they are talking about because people could end up with big problems on their devices. I didn't like the fact that they don't offer info about how to safely uninstall the app currently in use and install the app they are recommending. I blocked them. Good luck!

Disagree with your security updates ranking for Brave and other Chromium-based browsers. They all have update cycles equal too or better than Google Chrome (remember that one's like Brave have to also update for enhanced features beyond those supplied by the Chromium base code especially enhanced Privacy).

The PC security channel put all of them to the test, in the end, Microsoft edge won. in a head - to - head competition against Google Chrome and Firefox, the challenge was to see how many malicious websites would each one of them block. In the end, Microsoft edge won, with a perfect 300.

@@micosstar If you get the Samsung web browser, there is a settings for ad blockers in the top right-hand corner menu. Initially you have to download them and then you just click on them to turn them on, there's 7 or 8 of them. After a while you might get an advertisement but just clear the cache of the web browser and go into the history and clear up all that stuff except for passwords

yes, although sometimes YT will refuse to play vids if Braves SHIELD function is turned on (which is what blocks ads). did it to me recently, the next day i was able to turn shields back on and still watch videos

Start using "startpage" fast and safe and Vivaldi is also based on Chromium project. Ask your self what do you do at home on your computer that needs you to hide from the rest of the world? Once you get your answer, it will determine what browser you use.😮

A little better than Chrome. Both are based on Chromium with proprietary bits stuck on. Vivaldi likely has some better defaults and practices when it comes to privacy though. 2 or 3 outta 5

Privacy =/ security. Firefox is good privacy wise, but security wise, chromium browsers are better. Chrome is not private but more secured than Firefox.

While Opera GX is a feature-rich browser mostly aimed towards gamers, both Opera and Opera GX don't have good privacy features and their "VPN" is one of the worst VPNs you could use on the internet, plus they are owned by a Chinese company.

Problem is duck duck go is not private as you think. Sill i use firefox, and i never change this. Best alweys. Apple suck... Not mater what he tell, chrom is disaster. Brave is better and Edge also better then chrome. And Libre Wolf you check same as FF and you tell FF 4/5 and Libre W... 5/5 this is not nice. Arch browser is on chromium then if i must choice google trash or chromium i take Arch or Chromium. But not Chrome. Chrome is not open source chrome is fork from Chromium who is open source then - 1 for this also.
