Maybe this does introduce plot holes, it doesn’t prevent fictional characters from being light speed though. Heck, with several of the other nature defying aspects of devil fruit powers, I think that being able to get to light speed is one of the more trivial points.

People will be like “Do you think Oda thinks they can move that fast?” Well in an SBS, he said himself that to dodge Enel’s lightning you would need to “duck at light speed” which he has made Luffy and co do. So yh, Oda thinks that they can react/move that fast.

I don't want to be high-balling the germa, especially if it's unnecessary, but in some other versions of the manga (other languages) Niji's attack is actually named tachyon blade instead of lightspeed sword (which would make him even faster than light)

I would say that almost every new world character is ftl and hear me out. Of cause the irrelevant side characters might not be, but the main villains, pirates ext. is. In the thriller bark arc Kuma states that his attack is light speed. A near death Zoro then proceeds to dodge hundreds of set attack. Doesn’t that make pretty much any character faster than Thriller bark Zoro ftl? I might be wrong so just corrected me if I missed something:))

Great video, I agreed with the Kuma, Ichiji, and black beard points. However, the Niji one seems like a bit of a reach given that his power is lightning and that the translation is like electro something(forgot the same but it has electro) So I'd say thats 1/3 of light rather than ftl
Tbh it doesn’t really matter that much. The direct translation is still “electromotive *light* sword”, which is essentially a light speed sword powered by electricity. Plus it isn’t really a stretch that he’s light speed, considering that both Sanji and Ichiji scale to him, and both of them have had direct light speed statements and feats.

When something is electromotive it’s essentially powered by electricity to be able to move at a certain speed, and seeing as the word “light” is used to both name the sword and gage that speed it’s pretty clear that’s what they were going for.

Light speed in one piece verse is just confirmed irregular. We all know that nobody these is actually moving at our version of light speed. If other verses where characters move light speed joined one piece’s verse they’d appear slower and if one piece characters joined a verse where light speed is faster, they would appear faster.

How in the world did you convince yourself that blackbeard casually pulls people in at light speed? You are spouting out all these numbers but not explaining them. Did you somehow extract random numbers from the word “infinite”? When he says even light can’t escape, he is referring to how, once inside a black hole, light can’t escape. This says nothing about how fast he pulls people. Kuma could just be repelling a minute amount of air particles at light speed, which would naturally create shockwaves. Law shooting radiation doesn’t make him himself move at light speed. Calling a sword “light speed sword” doesn’t make it light speed. It could definitely be exaggerated, especially when his entire theming is electricity, not light. Ichiji shot vague projectiles and then moved past them. Idk why you just assume these are lasers and not just any other material or maser.
It's as if a rail cannon repelling a projectile at Mach 6 isn't actually Mach 6. Sure, Kuma's Air Paw Cannons may not be LS but at the very least relativistic as they can slow down but due to the small distance between him and Zoro, it's LS. Don't assume shit also. And the first time he does dodge a shockwave he dodges well after Kuma’s pushed it while it’s still traveling. Beyond that there are indicators that Kuma doesn’t even need to move his arms to use that pads pushing power, like when he deflected Zoro’s slashes or when he tagged Franky.

Laser beams are light, therefore they travel at a speed of light at a bare minimum. In fact, Laser beams can go faster than light and theres even one that goes 300x faster than light (in real life, not one piece)

They don’t understand that Kizaru is just lucky in that he doesn’t have to train to be light speed, whereas other people do. That and he’s the only one that can travel long distances at that speed, everyone else is limited to just being that fast (or faster) during combat.

Actual lasers made from light doesn't work the way Kizaru's beams do, so their is no reason to assume they actually move at the speed of light. If the characters could move the speed of light, why the hell would they need boats? They could run across the water so fast that they could reach the next island in less than a second.
Travel and fighting speed are completely different, also, there are many characters that dont use boat, take ace for example, he uses his fire to boost him with that thing, idk what its called, aokiji,he just,idk, fucking uses a bike to travel the world

It's also strange how Kizaru never turns into light when fighting High/Top Teirs but he uses light attacks when he's not trying (against the Supernova). He could be FTL in base . It's like if anyone from Enies Lobby onwards are Enel's fruit. They would be faster than lightning but it would still be a useful fruit. It's also possible that he can move FTL with light. Of Logoas could only go at the same speed as their fruits, then Akainu should be nearly stationary. Also, future sight exists. Since both Akainu and Aokiji have shown signs fo it, it's not too crazy to assume that he has it too. He could have the best future sight in the verse.

Yes, it's possible in Battle Shounen otherwise you are implying that Goku and Naruto aren't moving than speed of light. Nami's coincidentally is using lightning, yet even Kalifa the weakest amongst CP9 dodged it with ease, most High tier reacted to Kizaru's light speed. Furthermore, Luffy is FTL, but that only applies to his combat and reaction speed, and not his travel speed. A boxer can punch faster than a human's eyes but they can't outrun a Car, simple.
If they dodged lasers it would be a reaction and reactions are always the fastest, when someone talks about speed it’s usually combat speed, so unless these people specifically said not the SoL at all, then I think you read their comments wrong, luffy had SoL reactions in gear 2 and his base strength as strong as gear two if not stronger in post timeskip, I’d say base reaction is 1-1.5 times and his combat is relativistic-relativistic+, with new gear two being 2-3 Times ftl, the other forms don’t have muktipliers and don’t increase speed much either so probably 3-4 reactions with SoL combat speed in snake man

@@Pinamodada well that's wrong... Since we know that ichiji is minimum light speed and katakuri destroyed him while not trying... And luffy in base and 2nd gear was able to compete and keep up with katakuri with speed which means after whole cake island luffy is minimum 5-8x light speed in base.... This is also a BIG lowball... Since we know that gear 2 is more then 5x multiplier and same with gear 4th... Because both times he transformed his opponents were unable to react or see luffy (because you need to be much more then 5x faster to not be able to react or see)... But gear 4th should be minimum 10x multiplier since doflamingo couldn't react even with observation haki... Luffy with his worst observation haki can react to light speed like it's nothing...

Its fun jokes and all but gotta remember that anything that has mass if moved from point A to point B at light speed or close to light speed, might cause a destruction similar to an atomic bomb. So statements should be taken with a grain of salt.
Saying gamma knife is lightspeed due to its name having gamma is like saying Vegeta's big bang attack has all the combined energy of a big bang or that one punch man can literally one shot everyone due to his name
The knife itself doesn't necessarily move at light speed unless the user can swing it that fast which Law has been shown to be capable of. Similar to Ichiji you can see the light trailing behind the blade. That said the effect of the attack spreads at light speed because it is actually light and Doffy was fast enough to counter it with his strings.

It depends on the distance you traveled to dodge it; Luffy covered a comparable distance to the laser that was fired at him in chapter 508, and by Idea Shock’s pixel scaling he would have needed to move slightly FTL.
Yeah he said air is repelled at light speed which means his paws had to be moving at light speed aswell for the air to be getting repelled at the same speed
Dodging "lasers" doesn't make one ftl. First some of the examples you use don't meet the criteria for them to be considered light speed attacks, also most are aim dodging similar to the way batman dodges bullets, but is nowhere near bullet speed, you would have to be relative to light but not light speed.

Luffy has several laser dodging feats/scaling before he gets his Haki. Even if he can’t go that fast over long distances, he can react and combat at those speeds.
He still needs to be faster than light to dodge a constant LS Beam, even if he has the reaction time to do it. It's like with Sasuke's Sharingan when he was a kid against Rock Lee, he was able to react to it but his body can't keep up with him due to being slower than him.

While it would be more realistic for Blackbeard’s gravity to swallow stuff indiscriminately, the in story rules for Teach’s devil fruit indicate otherwise. This would invite the question of, “if Teach’s darkness can differ from black holes in these ways, wouldn’t that mean that it could also have weaker gravity than actual black holes?” I wouldn’t fault anyone for answering yes to this, especially since much of the stuff Teach captures and regurgitates from his darkness isn’t damaged anywhere near what it should be, but given that his fruit has allowed him to attract/capture characters with relativistic to FTL scaling, I wouldn’t rule out the comparison to actual black holes.

Lasers in fiction are not always lightspeed. After all, kid Goku was dodging lasers since the very beginning of OG Dragonball but wasn't fast enough to dodge lightning bolts until WAY later in the series. He wasn't, of course, faster than light back then. That would be completely nonsensical. You can clearly see Goku showing relativistic feats when scaling him to Raditz or when he blitzed from one side of Namek to the other in an instant. Back to One Piece. Kizaru surely IS lightspeed - bare minimum. But arguments can be made even against Pacifistas since that would mean that EVERY HUMAN in One Piece is lightspeed. Making EVERY SINGLE statement about how impressive Kizaru is... worthless. (And making everyone a dick for not blitzing on the battlefield when people need them, but slowly running all the way there at a human-like speed)
