I'd add colouring books and colouring pencils to your list as they will definitely help to de stress anyone I found colouring very therapeutic and also helps to pass the time if your on your own say if others are out or working. Same can be said for jigsaw puzzles as maybe not everyone would want to play a board game or might just be busy etc. Lastly I'd add a journal. So you can write down any thoughts good or bad, ideas, recipes, shopping lists, foraging ideas, etc the list goes on and on. It Also helps to concentrate your mind getting stuff down on paper and if anything would help to remind you of important ideas or questions that you may otherwise forget. Add a fidget spinner or toy to your list as will also help give your mind something to concentrate on if in a stressful situation. I know you've covered this in a previous video Alan, but I'd also add a wind up/ solar radio just incase powers out and you need to keep up to date with local or world news , and if worse comes to the worst I'm sure the Archers will still be broadcasting lol😅 Great thought provoking video though mate, hope my suggestions might be useful to someone too. ATB mate Rob 👍

Music- I have a wind up victrola that is 100 years old this year, and 87s to play on it. I also have several musical instruments, and an MP3 player with large capacity I loaded with all of my music. I have a large battery with solar panel to charge my small devices like this and my kindle. On my kindle I have stored manuals for all kinds of things. I am an avid reader, so no problems there. I have so many books I had to switch to a kindle because I had run out of space. I have lots of hobbies, too, most picked up during our short lock down. And because Covid is still a huge thing and I avoid unnecessary contact with people, I have kept up with them. I have most everything you mentioned, but for some reason I don't have board games or even a decks of cards, so thanks for this tip. I will pick some up at the thrift stores. Puzzles would be another great activity.

Musical instruments, including simple ones for children; puzzle books for all ages; craft kits - they should be self-contained and include everything you need (should already have sewing preps), can be found cheaply in charity shops, e-bay etc; plenty of paper/scrap paper, pens, pencils, coloured pencils (remember sharpeners if you don't have them in stationary/fire lighting kits); wind up radios for music etc; song books; party games books for entertainment; packs of cards; photograph albums to look back on; scrap books, magazines, glue, scissors; just a few suggestions from experience.

I agree Alan, I think people often overlook all these things, especially if you have kids. Unfortunately, I think a lot of the younger people, and a few older ones, will start eating themselves within a short time period if the internet goes down, lol.

I remember having to find a public payphone to call my friends and the girlfriend. Oh how times have changed.

There is no "bugging in" it's shelter in place. Bugging out is Military slang for quick move. Just an fyi. Great vid though.

I've read the book. It's called Bugging In, but it's just works, almost as stupid as all the rest of the Preppers lingo 😂😂😂 Enjoy your day.

@@p2snetwork Well just a history lesson. Just because there's a book called "Bugging in" doesn't make it correct. It means a preptard ran with an incorrect term. Democrats do it all the time. What if someone called an an Army MASH unit a MOSH unit, still a term, but still incorrect.
