Exactly they don’t make a lot of sense. The first part of the article that I got before. The video said 2023s 10 best and yet only one of them the Medea was energy star compliant with the EER of 15. All the rest were not. There are plenty of inverter technology ACs available now for the last couple three years and yet they only show one of them the Midea you. So the other night or not the most efficient or the quietest or the best just may be the cheapest

Frigidaire Gallery 6,000 BTU MODEL: GHWW063WB1 is said to be 41 dB on low. Its the quietest Ive seen currently on the market? do you own the midea U ac? Im deciding between the 2.

@@patiencej.7963 I understand there is high pitch whine from the compressor when it’s engaged, but you have to be close to it to hear it. It’s not a loud noise but high pitch sounds are irritating. But only when near, I intend to sit about 4 feet away. Have you heard it?

@@robertp7209 My 12,000 BTU midea is very quiet, but there is a high pitched whine that’s fairly constant - one thing you’ll note about this AC is that the sound is constant and doesn’t have periods where it gets super loud like most AC units. The high pitched whine - really more of a whirring sound - can be heard from more than 4 feet away, at least with the 12,000 BTU size, but as soon as there is any other noise in the room (like from a TV or conversation) that drowns out the sound of this AC.

I have 2 different MIDEA units and they are both silent. I will never buy another brand ever again. My first Midea is about 6 years old and you can't even hear the compressor when it kicks in, it's so quiet. Now I also have the u-shape one and it's just as quiet. They make impressive units.

@@robertmakela86 idk how I got two duds. I returned my first midea unit because of the high pitched noise the compressor would make. It even mentions in the manual that the sound is normal. My second unit just came in yesterday and it has the same issue. Is it too much to ask for a quiet AC that cools well and doesn't intrude on me watching movies 😭

@@loveforever8661 most of the time the noise comes from the air blowing into the room, not the compressor. If they had any common sense they would how lower fan setting once the room is cooled off. There is no reason for any A/C to be blowing at full force into a cool room. Automatic shutoff is the worst feature especially combined with a loud fan. Its hard to relax when your A/c is constantly going on and off. The best A/C I ever had had temperature control. it never shut off but kept the room at my preset temperature just by a very low fan speed.

@@loveforever8661 even the lowest setting is loud on most A/C in my experience. That's my point.

Nah, I've had two midea units and both had this high pitched whine to them coming from the compressor. Sure the fan was quiet but that whine is driving me insane. I'm not even gonna bother returning it again and just give it to someone else. Maybe they won't be bothered by that noise

I have owned several LGs and they have all been better than the Frigidaires and Fredrich I have owned!

@@koreymayo8884 You never get a second chance to make a first impression. My First experience with LG, the worst clothes washer I've ever owned, was so miserable that there will never be a second.
