6 rotors SOUND BETTER than v12 pistons 

Wow, sounds quite different from everything else I've ever heard. I hope our 12-in-1 Header for the M120 V12 will fall into that same category of unheard sounds when it's done.

i am proud of nz when it comes to rotarys. eccentric shafts are so often made in nz. even rob dahms.

Awesome to see a 6 rotor project. Wonder what Dahm would think of it. They just did a 4 wheel hub dyno on their 4 rotor monster and got over 1200 Horsepower at around 8500 RPM

It sounds like a high-revving V12 with a rev multiplier of 3. It sounds like 6k at 2k and 18k at 6k. Combine that with how fast it revs/accelerates and you get this insanely distinct sound.

Remember, each cavity on the side of a rotor is a combustion chamber. Combustion chamber = Cylinders. So if each rotor has 3 combustion chambers, this is an 18 cylinder engine, and it sound like it too. very nice work.

Each rotor acts as three combustion chambers. So 4 rotors would have the same firing frequency as a 12 cylinder, two-stroke engine. But modern cars use a four-stroke engine, so the firing frequency of a 4 rotor engine would similar to that of a 24 cylinder four-stroke.

Would love to see a motor like this in an ultima. Very cool build here though

I just manual swapped my 95' Civic, well see how your 2 + 4 rotor stacks up against my 1.6l of POWA. I'd race for pinks, but I got too much invested in the ole Green Goblin. 😎 Edit: On a serious note, Rob had trouble with his injectors up that high, is there any plans to move them lower to the rotor housing or is there any issues with having them up that high? Super sick car and amazing job with all the work. 👍👍

Insane build

Fucken hell.. as a Chevy person I've always liked the little 307/327 the works 750 vacuum advance Holley, double hump fuelly steel heads with a lot of work on them, balanced, blueprinted, gtho centre 3:1.1, with a t400 with a 4k stall converter, twin electric fuel pumps to maintain pressure instead of surge tank. I had one of these little monsters in a L32 Lh torana and it would get to 260 kph pretty quick for an old 4 door Holden. Then it did a wheelie, launched over a raised pedestrian crossing in the middle of the night after realising in my burnout I had accidentally gone into 3rd, top gear when I thought I was in 2nd. I landed all fucked up and pedalled it hoping to break traction sideways and bring it back but it tankslapped the other direction and roaring again yet it went sideways for the third time only this time I hit something hard. I looked out the back window and it was gone. Fuck, I'd done it this time. I found a spot to pull into and sprung out leaving the drivers door open. It was took open and mostly back to bare metal on the drivers side. Fuck what did I hit, are they alright. I kicked the drivers door closed and ran back up the main street towards the carage. When I got there I was relieved to see I'd only hit a parked 65 thousand dollar Ford fairyland which was messed up, the drivers side front end was pushed up into the dash.. I ran back to the torana and saw I had bent the 9 inch diff like a banana. Lost my licence for 6 months for being a dickhead behind the wheel. I will build another one someday soon, piece by piece and bolt by bolt and maybe I can break the 10.02 standing quarter mile run my last one had. Well don't drive like a dickhead on public roads because you could get unlucky and hurt some poor bastard by accident, but it will still be your fault if you drive like a dickhead. Stay safe and if ya wanna rev get a Chevy ⚡🧲💪
