Yes! I think imposter syndrome also has to do with feeling like everyone else belongs in the room, everyone else is capable and earned their place, but you somehow “tricked” people into thinking you belong there…AND YOU ARE RIGHT ON THE VERGE OF BEING FOUND OUT! I don’t know that it ever goes away entirely. Or if it does, maybe that means we’re not stretching ourselves enough…getting into rooms that we are only BARELY convinced we deserve to be in! One thing that helps is remembering that everyone goes through imposter syndrome. EVERYONE. Living in LA for twenty years, a lot of my clients were celebrities. People you would think…oh, they must be on top of the world. Nope. Some of them were. Some of them were the coolest, nicest people you’d ever want to meet. But some of them were so consumed with insecurities and fear about what other people thought of them that you couldn’t pay me enough to trade places with them. It just goes to show - when it comes to happiness, it’s not wealth, power, or fame that ultimately determine that. It’s what goes on inside your mind. Anthropological studies have shown that as well! You are not happier the more money you have. There is a steep uptick in happiness thresholds when you have enough money to provide for your family’s safety regardless of circumstances - about the six figure level. And then, surprisingly to a lot of people, there is a steep downturn at about the 5 million level. But when researchers looked deeper into it, they realized that’s the level when it becomes harder to know that the people you form social connections with aren’t just using you. So, yeah. The external things that matter to us, it turns out, are safety and connection. Everything else is about what we choose to focus on!!!

Mmm such excellent insights as always, thank you for sharing that! That’s a great point about it maybe never going away because we WANT to stretch and grow. Which automatically makes it less scary in our minds. I think that’s so interesting about some celebrities. And the fear mindset behind the glamour, and little or no “mental wealth”

Baby steps are good. Rome wasn't built in a day. A small improvement every day, makes for a big improvement over the years. My imposter syndrome stems from my childhood... when I was told constantly that I wasn't good enough. When something is ingrained in you from childhood, it's with you for life, gnawing away at you. Attempting to rewire your brain as an adult is a worthwhile exercise. I have varying degrees of success with it, but I still keep trying. It's great to see Daisy being involved Cade... I'm so glad she realises you're not a serial killer 🤭🤫

Oof yeah that’s where a lot of it gets programmed and embedded 😞 Well you definitely are enough and have always been 🧡 and just from the years I have known you virtually, I know your kindness, hard work, humor, the love you give, and overall good nature. And same here (and for most I’m guessing) I have hard days with thoughts too and just being more aware and baby steps is what it’s all about. And yes! I’m trying to convince her to record with me more and as much as she can! 😁

@@choosing_loveHey Cade. Thanks for getting in touch. Gremlins are messing with my responses today!! Last message showed as an error. I've been good thanks, had a holiday, doing some research for a project I've wanted to do for ages, setting myself up in a small office and working extra hours in my jobs. I hope your channel's making progress, and you're finding fulfilment with it. I'm planning on doing a catch up with your content soon 👌🌻
