It seems the only way to take a selfie will be with the lower resolution front camera or did you try using the active track for selfie video/pictures using the rear cameras?
Thank you! I'm glad you like this video. And we are also very happy with our car :) About taking a selfie: so far I have only been able to do this with the front facing camera. If I want to be in the picture with the other cameras, I use gesture control. That works fine if you are close enough. You can also use the standard iPhone camera and control it remotely with an apple watch.
These are such great tips, thank you! I just got my DJI OM 5 today and have been playing around with it. I do POV walking videos and wanted something to help minimize the bounce, and I think this does the trick AND comes with some of those really handy tutorials! This is my first gimbal so I'm sure those will end up being pretty useful :)
I bought it two weeks ago and am still struggling with it. It doesn't feel natural yet, I'm having real problems with aiming and following things. It feels like it hardly ever does what I want it to do, I am an absolute beginner with gimbals, but very experienced in photo and video shooting. So I am not feeling the click quite yet, but this video already helped me a bit, thanks Josh!

"Helpful for shooting low angle scenarios" does this mean I can shoot top down video with it? I want to point the camera 90degrees downward for shooting my drawings
I have one and sometimes shoot top-down videos with it. It doesn't tilt down far enough to shoot overheads if the handle is vertical (he does mention this in the video) but will if you mount the handle horizontally. If your *primary* use is shooting overheads, though, it might make more sense to spend the money on something like the Slik creator's kit (basically a vertical arm that clamps to a table plus a horizontal arm for positioning the camera over your drawing area) or a Manfrotto gooseneck (flexible arm that does the same thing.)
Great video! Have you tried using this with filters on your iPhone? I also have the 13 Pro Max and wanted to know if it can handle the weight of an added polarized filter on the phone.
I returned mine today. Could not get it to balance with my iPhone 14 Pro Max. Auto calibrated and it still was off balance. I purchased for vlogging with my amazing phone. Too challenging trying to manage this gimbal , wouldn’t lock, track me while walking. Maybe it was defective? It kept doing its own thing.
Taxing the motors certainly can’t be “good” for the motors can it. When they will fail who knows but the fact is clear that the Pro Max phones exceed DJI’s maximum payload rating and the closer you get to it the worse the gimbal performs.

Perhaps the gimbal will suffer more in the long run, since the iPhone 13 Pro Max is heavier. In my opinion DJI should have advertised this more clearly.
Hi Bernard, thank you for your feedback. I'll keep an eye out for it next time and I'll give the duck walk a try too. I made this video under normal circumstances, so the jittery could also occur more often for normal users in those circumstances. I will come back to it!
iPhone 13’s are not officially supported as per DJI. Also, both 12 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max tax the motors or may exceed the 290 gram max payload of the gimbal as per DJI. Neither which bodes well for stabilization capabilities or life of gimbals motors.

Great video! Question: When using the OM5 app, it makes a brand new folder on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I have hundreds of empty folders! It is a pain to delete them one at a time! Is there any way to make this thing put my videos in one folder? Thanks in advance!
Your walk is wrong, thats wy your videos have a up and down movement. Try bending your knees when you walk you ahve a better stable video. Look p other videos about this. Keep up the good work and have fun. (Nice Tesla)
sorry but this looks awful. its jumpy, its not what I need a gamble for. every stupid GoPro from 4 yrs ago does a better stabilizing job that this rubbish thing.

I returned my OM5 piece of crap as well and keep using my OM4. This guy as well as many of the RU-vid shills are not really keen on discussing or highlighting the negatives.
Hi Clifton, the DJI Mobile Phone Compatibility List says that you can use the OM 5 with different Galaxy phones, such as the Note 9 or S21! Have a nice day!

Hoi Dutch Globetrotters, met de iPhone 11 en 13 (beide pro max) had ik geen problemen met de OM5 en een silicon en leren case. De selfie stick van de OM5 is handig, maar ik hoor dat de OM4 SE verder kan ronddraaien. Die afweging moet je even maken!
Thank you for your feedback Abhishek Jagtap. I just used the DJI OM5 casually. If you walk more slowly, the videos will undoubtedly remain a bit more stable.

When this came....I had absolutely no idea how to use it. I found your video and all frustration was over!! Thank you 😊 The only thing I didn't like is that it won't fit over my phone case which means constantly taking it off and on!
I'm curios about what phone are you using? I have a pixel 6 and it worked with the case on, I also saw in another video that you can remove the side foam from the magnetic phone clip and it helps to improved the fit for bigger phones, I hope this helps

Do you know that DJI said on the amazon page, OM 5 dosen not compatible with iPhone 13 pro, Do you experience some problem of lost iPhone 13 camera features beside of Cinematic mode? Where is video file in stored while you using Mimo app ? Do you try Mimo manual mode for 4k /24 frames with ISO 100 and 50sec ? How do you set this for wright expersoure since iPhone 13 can not install ND filter. Do you feel lost resolution after applying MIMO app ? Thanks
Hi Li C, when I bought it, I didn't know that the DJI OM5 is not compatible with the iPhone 13 Pro Max, but a number of viewers have already pointed it out to me. I don't have any problems with it, everything just works. I usually use the Mimo app and have not tried the cinematic mode yet. Videos automatically come into my photo album on iPhone. Only so far can I answer your questions :)

I wanted this soo bad but I heard some.bad stuff so I went for the rhiyun smooth 5 instead. It's my 1st gimbal so I wanted to make sure I chose right. That extra length makes this so attractive though!!! I so wanted it to be good and I hear good things but also alot of problems with bigger phones and the motors
Well so I'm seriously the type to not open something like that until I have a case or somewhere to store it but the one I ordered is gonna be a whole month so I'm gonna open it up Tom om the channel and test it out there. I'll Def lyk Tom tho or just check my channel for the video

Thanks for this detailed review. Looking to get one to capture snowboarding video… nervous about the strength of the magnet, especially if I got the new iphone. Snowboarding is pretty smooth but I worry about filming jumps… you think your phone would stay attached if you recorded while jumping down a 5 fot ledge?
