Would have loved to see a healthy meal segment without the meal delivery service. Those are not budget friendly in the least 😏

Rachel, I have always been the same as you as far as working out goes...all in for a few months, then burn myself out and do nothing for a while. Until...I discovered Robin Long's The Balanced Life pilates RU-vid videos. They are seriously the best thing ever for a busy mom. The workouts are generally 10 to 15 min or less. I can easily do a workout daily and see great results and since they are so short, it keeps me coming back for more. I actually ENJOY it. :-)

But Rachell, home chef is so expensive! I’ve tried it and loved the food, but it was destroying my budget so I had to stop.

I'm really disappointed you recommended an expensive meal service in this "budget" episode. I'm usually a huge fan, but that felt dirty.

Home Chef is in no way a budget friendly idea!! Meals are 9.95 PER SERVING!! Thats like eating out every day! I can't believe the Ramseys are allowing sponsorship (and getting revenue when you click the homechef/racheal link!) from a program that is not at all in line with people cooking on a budget. Then we get a plug for "you own the look" - where you pay $20 to get some outfit ideas emailed to you?? with links you can click on to buy? Seriously? Encouraging more spending on clothes? How about just encouraging people to look for free on Pinterest. How about re-styling whats in your own closet? Or buying on sale or at a thrift store? I mean, if you're doing well, and this is a small percent of your income (like Rachael Cruze) by all means enjoy - but this is NOT a good option for most families needing to save or get out of debt. I can not believe Dave Ramsey would support this!

So many "self-help" things out there but I love that Rachel always ties in the practical, money management components! Not a lot of young women out there doing the money component of healthy, balanced living. Thank you Rachel! I LOVE to listen and watch!

As much as I love the idea of meal kits, the amount of packaging waste is terrible. This day in age should be about less to zero waste, not adding more to the landfills. The Idea is great but the carbon footprint is too much. As little time as i have to meal prep, i rather just go to the supermarket to get all my stuff. that's what weekends are for, to meal prep for the work week.

Can I budget for giving by buying food for people in needs instead of money
@TM-lp9jv
@TM-lp9jv 5 лет назад
It’s up to you. I know not everyone who watches or are on the Ramsey plan belong to a church or even attend church. I know some people who donate their giving % to a charity or who even keep it in an envelope and give it away whenever they’re living day to day: like helping the person behind them pay their grocery bill at the grocery store, buying a panhandler or homeless person a meal and/or whatever they need, etc.

I lobe your show, however I’m not sure how those meals are saving anyone money. I guess if the alternative is eating out, it may save a bit. Also, push-ups and planks are not safe for women who have abdominal separation, which many women do.

I get a kick out of looking at your recommended budget percentages. Something about it being a generalized typical example of a budget but if you go by it without consideration of whatever it is I can’t name it right now, your not exactly spending money in the most efficient manner. Just think of it. If you are making say $60,000 take home pay after taxes, 10-15% for food might make sense for, say a family of 4 but not for a single person. Likewise, if you are on a very modest income and you try take out health insurance, I betcha it can take as much as 50% out of your income. The same with housing. You can’t go by a generalized view.

Honestly, life insurance is NOT affordable for those of us in our 70's. When it costs two senior citizens $60,000 a year in the Midwest to live (with out of pocket medical costs, all dental costs and exams and eye glases)... life insurance only earns us $100.000 and that is gone in a year and a half or less. Less if you plan for a funeral and a burial. I feel TOTALLY inadequate when it comes to life insurance...

I love the Ramseys financial advice but here's the same thing that gets under my skin about your father's books. "Women are like this, men are like that" there are billions of women in the world and we are individuals. The same is true of men.
@brendamoon2660
@brendamoon2660 5 лет назад
I got an email that someone replied "normal" people celebrate the difference between men and women and they further supported the men are factual, women are emotional stance. I don't see the reply any more but let me say I have several male friends who talk openly about their emotions. I am very fact based myself. I was brought up that being emotional was childish. "Putting away childish things" was my Moms favorite thing to quote me from the Bible. Embracing these stereotypes prevents you from getting to know people. Im not a feeler, I'm a thinker. That doesnt make me less normal and it doesn't make me less of a feminine woman.
