That's my favorite cookie for my profile photo. Cookie and cake decorator from way back. Used buttercream and royal icing plenty! Fondant ... ick! Never been a fan. I never thought of doing cutouts with cold buttercream though I sure did pictures colored with butter cream and then flipped over on to the cake. Hmmm how did I do that? It's been a while. My favorite thing to do was make designs out of royal icing ... nobody was doing that. Little dogs, little animals, little flowers, the kids LOVED these edibles on top of their cupcakes! Great video!! New subbie!

Aww,thanks for sharing. For the buttercream shapes(dinosaurs), can this be done during summer when the weather is hot, will it still hold shape as it becomes soft?

If your buttercream frosting on the cake can withstand the temperature, the shapes will too. I’d recommend spreading the buttercream for the shapes as thin as possible so that they’re a minimal weight on the frosting

Thanks for the tips. When you keep cakes in the freezer for about an hour does it not sweat after decorating?

Thanks. But buttercream do sweat. I have experienced it. Couple of times when I forget the cake in the freezer.

Yes it will sweat if it stays too long... I tink 15mins should be the maximum time
