You can make fried rice with just soy sauce and egg. If you have carrots/onions/spinach you can add them too. Or anchovies. Leftover fried fish (shredded)? Sausage too. Be creative
Me: (read the title) Bless my asian ass now I know what to do with those awkward left over rocky rice on the edge of my rice cooker (clicks) Me: (watching video) (move back slowly) (whispering to my fellow asians) abort mission! move move move!
Yes! There are people who owns cafe and restaurants but nevertheless I wouldn't keep rice for that long, I cooked just enough 😃! If not just make something out from here by the next few days. Remember, it's all about Freezing. You won't lost the nutrients if you do it correctly
Hmmm, well I guess that's great for y'all. But as an asian who gets scolded by my mother for even leaving a single grain of rice on my plate or cooking rice that's too many or considered wasteful, I can't really see it. But, thanks for the comments ☺
Great recipes! I don't think I'd make these with "leftover rice" I wouldn't have enough (maybe change the title so there aren't so many negative comments MonkaS) but I'd definitely make fresh rice to try them out.
Filipinos after a big family party, lol. We always have at least 4 10-cup rice cookers of cooked rice. But since most of our meals are eaten with rice, we have no problem getting through leftovers.
I love these recipes that this group puts up! Living with a large family is tough, so these rice recipes sound like good ideas to me; it's the picky eaters in the family that won't want to try them.
The reason they re-use recipes under different titles is so people searching for "use leftover rice" or "game night recipes" will find that specific compilation. It's very clever.
You guys commenting about the last one have clearly never tried 'kheer' (rice/tapioca pudding) before, it's far from disgusting lol XD one of the best sweet dishes to make, honestly.
Kongee is also good to make with leftover rice. Basically, you just boil the cooked rice in broth until it becomes mush, then add pepper and spring onion. It's similar to making the rice pudding, just savory.
So many people think that Asians never have any leftover rice cause we're ASIANS. Wow. Racist much? Cause I'm Asian, and the way my family cooks fried rice is using leftover rice. Cause leftover rice is more dried than fresh, and that dried means no sticky rice. Duh. I actually thought these recipes are pretty clever. I'm not saying that's what all Asians think, I get that some don't have or believe in leftovers. Also the rice pudding.👍👍👍
Hey Tasty! I just got back from cooking the first recipe!! It was so easy!! The best thing ever!!! Everyone loved it!! Don't look at the hate comments! Keep up with the good work!! You're the best food channel!
Julia IKR. I have to laugh at the people saying it's not called rice pudding but arroz con leche. IF you're in a Spanish speaking country, yes, but not here.
Tracy Tracy where is here? If you're referring to America, there is no official language in this country. Watch how you phrase things. Your ignorance is showing.
My grandmother when I was growing up would make us grandkids a dessert rice it's basically butter sugar and cinnamon. Its soo good definitely give it a try. It's best when you do it after dinner when it has cooled down in the pot but still a little warm we would usually eat it after we cleaned the kitchen up. 😊😊🥰🥰 good memories.
As an asian who makes 4 cups of rice for my fam err'day I needed something like this badly. I'm so tired of eating the food I eat for almost literally my entire life.
"I'm only making dinner for 2 people, but I'm gonna cook 17 pounds of rice. That way, I have enough to make random stuff with it for the next few weeks." Or, you can just not make a crap-ton of rice. You don't need to be a rocket surgeon to figure that out.
Rocket surgeon😂😂when you try to be smart but that shit backfires. Also, when i make rice i make a lot because i can use the leftovers any time for a different meal. How do you know it's dinner for 2 people? families are a thing lmaooo
Thank you for the lovely recipes! And to whoever made this stock music: nice to hear some heartfelt Elektric-Band-inspired smooth jazz on RU-vid. Thank you. :)
Throw in some creme of coconut, ginger, and cloves into the last one and substitute the milk and egg with evaporated milk, and you'll get arroz con dulce! 😋😋😋
Anyone who is planning on making fried rice, for a start. Anyone who was cooking for 4+ and made too much... that'd be any family that eats together (there's a novelty, huh?).
In South Africa we have this thing called breyani. You just put leftover lentil soup, rice, potatoes, beans etc together and it makes breyani. It might sound weird but people love it. (But we don't use leftover rice: people specifically make rice and all those things to make breyani, even though initially it was to finish leftovers.)
