Protective styles are great for natural hair length retention but only when they are installed and removed with patience and care. In this video, I share how I safely remove my six week old box braids without damaging my natural hair, allowing me to retain as much length as possible. I removed weeks of buildup, knots, tangles and shedding and you can too. Hope this helps!

Girl I got box braid during quarantine paid $200 so they definitely staying in for 3 months exactly unless my scalp starts to itch. It’s been a month and all is good. Thanks for sharing the your tips definitely going to use oil instead of wetting my hair like I normally do

I love this. I think there isn't a ton of good education on how to safely uninstall protective styles in a way to preserve the new growth. I also love how you plugged Curly Proverbz because sis has the Ayurvedic game on lock and I feel like she doesn't always get the credit she deserves. I always use a spray bottle with water and conditioner mixed. Never had any issues but next time I will try oil. You and your boo are cute!!

Man braids are hella expensive especially the ones without chemicals. My mom buys the braids and I put my own braids in but I say leave it in for atleast 2 months before takedown because you wanna get your money worth. Anyways, everyone hair is different so I guess 2 months for me will be like an eternity to her.

Do you think your aloe and fenugreek pre poo treatment would get the tangles out instead of using oil? I love that mixture 😍😍it’s been 2mons and I have to take my braids out and there’s lots of buildup.

Yeah I had box braids 4 times in my life and every time I got it I would always cut my hair not knowing and would forget my hair is longer than what I cut it do to so I ended up cutting 2 inches off my hair and my hair is in the middle of my back im 5'4 when I took it out its short and my hair is by my shoulders again so im angry and I will never get box braids again and I only had it in for 3 weeks.
