60-154 MR. TOAD'S WILD RIDE Board a motorcar for a rollicking adventure with J.Thaddeus Toad, Esq. and race through old Londontown to nowhere in particular, narrowly missing everything in sight. For this new mix I combined two music cues from the original soundtrack to create a prelude to the attraction as well as using bits of dialog from the film to flesh out the storytelling. Enjoy!

I would always ask for this music while at the park. Never available. Took me years to finally get a decent recording of it so I'm excited I found your mixes. I would let people pass just to listen to the music at Toad Hall.

They recently redid the Merrily song music, the new version Bing in this recording it's not bad. But the original song is the best, with the original vocalists and no bells. Although it being in stereo is greatly appreciated!

I believe this version has been in use since 1983. However, the bells were added with the Fantasyland Dark Ride Suite, which I think came out in 2005.

From what I've heard and understand, the people who designed the ride threw that in there to base it off already existing dark rides in places like Coney Island (Dante's Inferno- another dark ride that takes you to hell). Apparently the crashing into the train was a somewhat common gag in dark rides before 1955 as well. From what I surmise, they were just trying to stick with a formula that was already proven to be enjoyable/thrilling by the American public at the time.

I thought the same thing when I rode it as a kid. I never saw the film, but I definitely don’t remember the book ending in… you know… Hell.

i believe the character seen in the first room you drive into in this ride is mr. toad even though he is wearing glasses if it isn't him then that means you are supposed to be mr. toad crashing into buildings and stuff

How were you able to get the musical score without the sound effects in the background? May I request the actual ride music that plays in the queue here in Disneyland? Which is the merrily song instrumental and the movie score. I'd like to hear the music just by itself. I'd also like to hear the inferno without the laughing. Either way. You're amazing with these tracks.

+Jack Box I extracted the score years ago and thought I could use it here....thanks for your feedback....Check out my next mix DISNEYLAND 1958.... I used more of the Toad music as underscoring.

+rickydoodlebug wow thanks for replying! I'm looking forward to your next mix. I've ridden Mr. Toad 81 times in 1 day and never get bored of it. 50 without getting off the car. So I love it when anyone gives this ride some love and attention. I'll be checking out you next Toad tracks! For the score, I asked because I have the score but with the sound effects. It was well extracted but you can barely hear the sound effects. Im now very excited for your next mix! Can't wait! Cheers! I'll be subscribing.

I just discovered this. Thank you for posting. I modeled my home after Toad Hall at Disneyland and I have been trying to get a good recoding of the queue music and especially the announcements such as " Welcome to Toad Hall" ....and " And do try to drive more carefully than Toad" ...etc. Any idea where I could find that? The cast members let me in early once with nobody else inside and I got a recording without the crowd noise but it just came out poorly through the overhead speakers. Any ideas would be most welcome. And glad to meet some fellow Toad enthusiasts!
