Larry, my paramotor isn't reliable enough to fly over terrain without at least one emergency landing sight available at any given time. Is your engine reliable enough that you don't need to worry about this as much?
There is pretty much no comparison in reliability from a PPG motor to a 582. However there is also just as big of a difference from the 582 to the Rotax 912 in terms of ultimate reliability. So it is a big step up, but I would not recommend flying anything over non landable terrain or do it as seldom as possible.
You can navigate with an iPad or iPhone or GPS. A sectional is difficult to use in an open cockpit, but not impossible. Using any method has little to do with having a license or not. However This machine does require a license.
