I think the one with the spikes was actually less destructive. The Huge spikes on the tire dug into the dirt, and slowed it down.

i think it was actually a case of them not revving it much, out of fear for the spikes comming off... also since the fridge was so close, it didnt have any time to convert the angular momentum into forward momentum. bending metal is easier than shredding it to bits
