600HP BIG BUD NUT vs LEG ARMS|He will WIN!!!

The drawbar is what takes all the energy that is produced from the tractor and delivers it to the implement. The weakest point is where the drawbar attaches and pivots. This joint encounters a tremendous amount of force and if not lubricated properly will fail. 41 years is a good life for a part like that so hopefully we will get another 40+ when fixed! Let's watch Leg Arms (Scott Welker) work his magic and make big iron great again!

Leg Arms you and your family all inspire me! I’m 37 and have been a chef for 22 years and have been really unhappy. Honestly watching this channel I decided to pursue something I’ve been thinking about for years and that’s a career in welding. So I’m currently of January 2 of this year going back to school for welding and also working full time at my current job. But no gains are ever made without sacrifice. And I can honestly say you all were a huge push to do this. So thank you 🙏🏻 so very much! I appreciate y’all and keep up the great content! 👊💪

Regarding the portion where a hole needs to be drilled into the old main seal. Dip the drill bit in grease, then drill. Grease can capture some of the chips. Helps minimize chips going into the engine. As for the big nut in the beginning of the episode, suspect a hydraulic wrench was used to achieve the desired torque setting. Something very few people are even aware of, let alone have access to. During the course of working a part time job, had to remove several 6-1/2" nuts. Used either a 1-1/2" or 2" impact. Used a crane to lift the impact. Required two large bore air hoses and two men to operate. VERY powerful tool.

Thank you Scott for mentioning a path, (how do others perceive us), that I have thought of often. I know I have not done enough but am trying. I have a habit of losing my temper when frustrated and out comes the🤬. Mother said it was because my vocabulary wasn’t good enough so That I could say something else and fortunately I married a woman that says the same thing. That is a part of my life I have projected that I’m not proud of but have worked all of my life to control it. I am seeing so many on the social media platforms that I wish I had not seen and especially our younger generation. I am very proud of you and Nick and the persona you put forth on your videos. Scott, when you have to split the Big Bud swap the hydraulic hoses on the steering cylinders. you can use them to push the two halves of the tractor apart under control. The Big Tractor techs at our shop do this all the time to change out the Uni-Ball bearings on articulated tractors. Good luck with the project. really appreciated your "message" to society. less selfishness and more selflessness would do the world a lot of good. You guys are an inspiration to watch and we’re all so lucky to be allowed just a small view into your lives. Your kids and wives are truly lucky to have such great fathers and husbands to lead them such as you did growing up. It’s evident your parents were amazing parents and have raised good godly men to in turn do the same for their families. God bless and keep up the great content!

Replaced the center pins and bushings on the Steiger, the bushing ball assembly was is welded into the drawbar at the factory, torched out and welded in the new one, then had to split the tractor to change the other two pivot assemblies. Got the parts from Big Tractor Parts in MN. Be careful!!!

It’s called a Seal Driver. You could of dimpled the speedy sleeve with a ball peen hammer and hit the sleeve a few times around it. That will expand it a bit and it should come off.

Why didn't you heat the nut with the torch to get it to expand a little before trying to loosen it? It was outside on the frozen tundra for a while.

Are you going to split the tractor? You've solved the biggest part of fixing my own stuff ... have enough stuff that what you're fixing can sit until the parts come in! :) Nice work again Upper LegArms.
