That's great work mark I will be purchasing a FGx XR8 or XR6t once I decide witch one I will give you a call mate I've watched a lot of your videos Ford and Holden my last car was a ss an wanting something different this time thanks mate appreciate your videos .
Hi MarkAll your videos are fantastic and very knowledgeable. I have a FG X Falcon with 430 kilowatts. Going to buy a Mustang with a Wippell supercharger could you post more videos.Cheers
@@bus5683 because the sports shift 6 speed ZF with paddle-shift options gives you the best of both worlds, plus the auto will kill it on the quarter (they shift far quicker than you can in a manual). You can program a launch control in the computer. When you want to go manual you either use the paddle-shift or just throw it into manual mode and it is a simple sequential shift flick of the wrist, no need to worry about a clutch. Then around town leave it normal auto mode and it is a fantastic daily driver. Manuals are dead and eventually you won't be able to get a car in a manual.
@@bus5683 honestly where can you take advantage of a manual day-to-day without losing your licence? Plus as I said the sports shift auto gives you options, you can easily go manual mode if you desire. Plus if you need constant stimulation to stay focused while driving then you shouldn't have a fucking licence.
hey guys, with the power increase would you suggest undercarriage upgrades for the fgx as testing of the falcon fgx sprints hasn’t exactly been glowing?
streetfighter replaces the tail shaft with a carbon fiber unit. XR-6 turbo builds can pump 1400hp through the zf 6spds with the right upgrades (stage 4 rebuilds) and Truetrac diffs offer a direct replacement for the diffs. If I were going with a manual I would convert to a Toploader 4spd and gear vendors under/overdrive and have a bulletproof 8 spd manual.
hi, i have a FGX XR8...i put it in for a service, now, the engine fault light comes on and the tester says it's the boost controller sensor and car is loosing power. how do i fix this? the car has only 7k on it. was running fine before the service with Ford. They said they did not touch it ...it was just a coincidence that this happened they said
RATs62 I heard that the Ford dealers are detuning the V8 Falcons and Mustangs when they come in for a service to be more eco friendly. It’s a little silly and it Probably is there fault. I don’t know if this is fixable or it could possibly be a sensor that’s been unplugged. I’d suggest ud get someone u know well to service the car next time.
I bought mine as a demo with 3K on it in 2016. I havent been back to the dealer yet, and probably never will. The car was fairly slow when I bought it, compared to my std XR6 turbo, but as it gets more miles its loosening up. I have 9000km on it and I have already done 2 oil changes. I dont trust dealers. I have heard Sooo many bad stories, just like yours. They seem to care little for customers cars. I use Castrol 5/30, not the 5/20 "Recommended" which is only for fuel consumption regs, and is like water. The car runs EXCELLENT and is Very fast.....faster than this car in the video. It revs like a beast, But you have to know how to drive them....mine is an auto. Currently stock. no need for any so called "Improvements". It is a 12 second car std. The biggest holdback to the acceleration is the 2.73 rear gear, not the engine. Just the same gear as a Mustang (3.5 or 3.7 I think), and it would run 11s std. I have had runs with HSVs and an C63 , beat the Hsvs easy, run neck and neck with the Merc. (he jumped me, I didnt think he would run)...and yes Im old school....61 this year.
Very nice..hi mark have a quick question for you...i want to do something different and came up with a crazy idea (dont know if its been done) thinking is it possible to run a compound boost setup consisting of a supercharger with twin turbos for a LS engine..can my wacky dream be achieved or will it be something ill have to keep dreaming about. Cheers
Marks .Workshop thanks for the advice mark now that thats changed my mind my other option was a procharged system so i just have one last annoying follow up question for you hahaha is it possible to setup a centrifugal superchargers boost levels to go up while going up the gears like with a turbo system...i love the power of a centrifugal supercharger but i love the spool and build up of boost with the turbo..
All depends on the details, if we where doing job I would go through in detail what would and wouldn't work. Find the people you intend to use and have a yak with them.
Well, he used a Herrod inter cooler... Also, moot point wanting to know whether manual or auto is better, because there are no more new manual FGX XR8's available.
Manual is more fun for me....autos dont do it....but in saying that not everyone likes a manual...it can be more fatiguing in traffic etc and not everyone likes changing gears in manual
Speaking of that I was actually thinking of coming to you for the full build i have planned..ive had a bad experience with a performance shop (they will remain un-named for legal reasons-fucking cowboys not mechanics) on a previous build and ive heard things i dont like about some of the other v8 powerhouse builders in perth through the car scene as im a perth local..i want someone who knows what their doing not someone whos just gonna tell me what i want to hear and take my money..
cdangelo86 Look forward to hearing from you, we can go through in detail what you need for what power you want, with all the choices to make it yours in a one off build to suit you. Cheers all the best.
