Use shorter drill and lower speed and feed . Way less chatter . Much better cut . Only need about 10,000 rpm 10in a min .100 pecks. A rigged 1.5 csml works great in aluminum. Love what you do Roger ! Learned so much from you over the years. Just took delivery of my new forsun 4x8 vac table router two weeks ago . About got everything wired up and ready to test run . Have some issues getting NC studio on my Windows 7 PC . Hoping to have her moving later this evening 🙏

I bought some longer rails and will rebuild my machine. It is made from MDF wood and I was thinking of making the rebuild from the same material. Now I am thinking that if I want to do some aluminum cutting, I should make the new machine from aluminum. I will also design it somehow to contain the chips and coolant/lubricant from going everywhere. It does look like your machine now needs to go through the car wash. LOL.

Thank you for sharing Roger. Does art cam have features to maching Alluminium because i can get a pc with it on for next to nothing. When watching you drill with an extremely long drill bit i was gritting my teath. for the new person, use as short as possible drill bit and cutter o you reduce the flexing in the tool and so makes maching more rigid.

Sorry if you've already shown this in another video, but it seems like a fogger that blows air with a little bit of coolant to lubricate the tool and remove the chips would have been very helpful in this situation. I don't know if you've already shown that in another video, so sorry if I'm suggesting something you've already covered.

What feed and spindle speed were you using.

For a machine that size, I was expecting some better and much faster cuts. The Z axis seems really weak... Subscribed! 👍🏼

Hello Roger. I have subscribed to your patreon at the 4Axis tier for 1 year. I sent you a couple messages, but never got a reply. I know you have abandoned the SMC controller, but wanted to know if you had ever set it up for a Z axis zero setting pad.

@@rogerwebb9600 Sorry Roger. I forget that people see me only as TinkeringJohn on YT. On Patreon, I am John Walt. You replied to my comment about setting up a Z auto tool on the SMC. I also commented there that I am TinkeringJohn on YT. Looking forward to seeing you do that. Sorry about your flooding issues. Now I know why it took a while to respond to my Patreon message. Good luck and Cheers Roger.
