I want to take this 1963 Corvair body down to a shell so it can be stripped of all its paint, rust, and everything else sticking to it. So I'm taking off all the bits and pieces a little at a time. In this video I'll remove the tail lights, disassemble the engine bay a bit, dig into a little more rust, remove the headlights and some trim, and take out the door glass, vent windows, and quarter windows.

Great job on your video editing! I feel like I'm standing there next to you holding the light! You explain everything so well and I really appreciate the original paint when you discover it. Looking forward to more tap, tap, tap from you hammer!

Great to have you back. How will you remember where all those screws belong?? Love the quality of your videos.😊

Thank you, I appreciate your support! Not shown: much bagging and tagging of the various fasteners. I've got so many ziplock bags with screws in them... just hope I can keep them all straight for the reassembly lol.

Yup, another great bit of entertainment, I might have to find myself a Corvair...I have been looking...try a heat gun on the old bondo and it will peel off with a wide wood chisel. The leftovers grind off without too much mess.

I hadn't thought of heating the old bondo. I'll give that a try. Ultimately I want to dip the car and have it blasted. It might help to take off as much bondo as I can before that. Good luck finding a Corvair, I'm having fun with mine. Thanks for watching!

What ever you are going to do with the car I wish you allot of luck! I guess you really love the car? What are your future plans?

To be honest I haven't thought that far ahead lol. I'm just fixing it up one step at a time and seeing where that takes me. Do I really love the car? I'd say it's a bit of a love/hate relationship, and it probably goes both ways haha. Thanks for watching!

@@lostwrenchgarage so keep in mind that there always something better to find for a better existing Corvair. I think you took on to much on the car. There is to much work and there needs to be allot of patience and talent to start a job like this. This is a restoration project $$$. Find a better suited car..

All in all this car is pretty solid, I've seen them rusted way worse. Still got a long road ahead but it'll be worth it.

It's pretty bad but I agree, there are cars that started out worse and still got done. I'll keep at it. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for following along. I just looked at your minibike channel. How cool! When I was a kid that's all I wanted. Never did get one. Maybe it's not too late...

Parts that have been together for over 60 years sure don't like to come apart. Good progress.

Thanks! I try not to talk too much and just let the sights and sounds come through as much as possible. I personally think it's more interesting to watch that way.

Great to see another video from you. Taking them apart is a pain, the fun comes in putting them back together when everything is clean and loads easier to work with. Been there. : ) I hope to see more videos soon. As always I liked and shared. All my very best.

Good to hear from you again and thank you for your continued support! The disassembly is challenging, but there is something fun and fascinating about the process, as the inner secrets of the car are gradually revealed. All the best to you as well!

You were justified in sitting and taking a breather after that really stubborn window bolt. Lots of good disassembly today. It'll be so nice going back all cleaned, straightened, polished or painted or even some new parts and gaskets and new seam sealer everywhere. It's just one foot in front of the other right now...if you can, roll your car outside to grind off that putty. You are right, you'd have a BIG mess in the shop! Maybe you could heat it and scrape it off inside if you really don't want to move the car out right now.

If you were located anywhere near me, I’ve got the shell of a ‘64 that id love to get rid of. I’ve taken most of the parts off it for my main project, but the fenders are at least in decent shape.

A person in your situation might have to get a donner car but it’s a learning experience for everyone.

Not many would recommend fixing this car, and I still might end up with a donor body. But you're right, I'm using it as a learning project.
