A yacht that size should NEVER be able to slip in that neighborhood ,with protection of mangroves and was he too cheap to tak÷ it thru the locks just a few miles up to the east????
It's like why do we do this just because we destroyed 99 percent of everything else now this remnant is sacred. Dollars over the planet. I love plants but the mangroves will be fine, or not. What difference will itake in the world
The boat is TACKY AS FUCK. THE OCEANS ARE POLLUTED ENOUGH. The fishing industry is dying and you can’t eat bating suits you fucking narcissist so downsize or leave.
Umm, 65ft is not a megayacht. Not even double that is a megayacht these days. 45 meters or more (~150ft) is a megayacht. That being said, those shafts are probably bent.
Ah it's really not, 45 meters is considered "Super" these days, The mid range, in yacht owner terms 😂 Yacht meterage general sizing and it's changing with every new build. 0 meters : No Boat 01-09 meters : A Boat 10-23 meters : A Yacht 24-40 meters : Luxury Yacht 40-59 meters : Super Yacht 60-89 meters : Mega Yacht 90-179 meters : Giga Yacht 180+ meters : An actual Ship 😅😂
Something isn’t adding up. By yacht standards a 65ft Marquis isn’t insanely expensive and the amount of damage I see plus the removal cost is creeping into what the boat cost when it was new. I’ve seen insurance companies total more expensive boats with less damage during hurricanes.
@@pastathemechanic7536 that makes less sense. So he’s paying almost 7 figures out of pocket? A salvage company would probably give him $50K right now for the title probably 100K if the motors are salvageable , that’s about what the fiberglass work I can see in the video costs.
@@pastathemechanic7536 Or wind excluded because his storm plan to leave it in the water behind his house is a sucky storm plan. As a yacht insurance underwriter myself I'd decline to give him wind coverage with that storm plan.
Late summer of 1948, we visited my uncle and aunt in Boston. Sight seeing with them my uncle took us past what my uncle said was a 200 foot ship/yacht (???) that had been deposited more than 300 feet inland over the top of a major highway as reported in local news. I was only 12 and dont remember the name of the storm but I remember the vision of that boat sitting up high on the roadside way inland. 60 footer, pshaw.!
Problem is, a logical and easy way to a problem will be ruined over some eco crap about a plant or insect. Mangroves are fkn everywhere just like Manatees
they could bring a lift and re launch is 100 yards away at that ramp. o get an exception/permit from the state. practicality would over ride the mangrove protections
These are the kind of problems I should be dealing with. Oh no one of my 50 mega yachts landed in my friendly neighbors property with no one being injured in the process.
Just a idea 💡 why do people like ask for information 😅instead of just moving it thinking outside the box just rent some equipment to get the dirt removed and get it done put rollers under the boat dig out the dirt underneath it until the boat resting on top of them and get his friends to help him with towing it backwards remove the mangrove from the boat with and pull her out the only thing is make sure that it’s wasn’t damaged underneath 😅because it’s the best idea and do it at night 😊so it won’t draw attention from the wrong person 😅or contact the diesel brothers I watched a video of them pull a huge houseboat off the shoreline so if they were able to do that they would be able to as well as I hear them telling them how much it’s going to cost 💲 it ticks me off 😢because Mother Nature was responsible for that but city’s official won’t do it for that reason they claim it’s going to take half a million dollars and hurting the mangroves please just remember the next time something happens don’t say anything just do it yourself because it always comes to them making a money off the people who pay taxes and they didn’t have any choice 😢it was a hurricane that was responsible and they still want help them😢
The question I want to know is.... Will Hurricane Insurance cover this "$500,000" Operation to get the boat back in the water, due to the Hurricane? That cost might not be that much to the owner, since they have enough money for the home/Yacht, but I believe that insurance should have to pay for it.
Spot on Sir. In Vietnam they build steel barges twice the size and weight of that Motor yacht on river banks. Inflatable rollers are then placed under the keel and the barge is dragged into the water by a tug.
I think you are referring to the finders keeps losers weepers prescient. I think the Supreme Court stuck that down to only being applicable to sibling court.
As someone who doesn't know anything about Yachts, 65 feet is not a Megayacht! A megayacht is anything over 19 feet! That being said my 21 foot bay boa.... I mean megayacht, is sitting nicely in the slip right now.
Not a fun situation. It's something I have seen in different forms how it takes a problem for people that live so close to each other these days to actually meet and get to know each other.
That boat is NOT going back in the water. Did you not see the multiple hull breaches under the water line? That thing would float for maybe a minute. It's scrap. Pull the gear off and dismantle the hull. It would take a 4 man crew 3 days and a bulldozer rental. And I'm sure the mangroves will figure it out.
Mother Nature has been pretty angry this year. If she sends in hurricanes like she's done with snow, floods, fires, landslides, tornadoes, etc, then she may send the boat right out of its predicament. Or she may park it in one of the houses.
Damm, and they call this small yacht a mega yacht. It is obvious they have never seen a true mega yacht of the filthy rich. By the looks of it is sustained some serious damage and the cost of removing it from that property will be expensive.
For full price he could get it back. After a certain amount of days in my state, that would be considered abandoned and whoevers' property it is on are the new owners. Just think of the joy left behind by Ian. The hurricane left that family a million dollar gift.
I would look up how much storage is on a yacht this size and charge that per day! Has to be paid before removing and if not paid in a reasonable time frame I would repo and sell
Can they not dig out the mangroves - cut a path for a tug to pull the yacht on rollers back to the water - and re-plant them? And I would think insurance would cover this.
