Hello Folks,
In this video I have finished switching the ways on my mini lathe. It is now a 7 x 16 giving me the extra length I need for working longer material. For a first project I rebuilt the parking brake handle. I have to say I'm a little frustrated, ok more than that, at how part acquisition is going these days. There is some light at the end of the tunnel though.

I’m with you. Fixing what you have is a better decision. If you are as capable as you it’s the way to go.

(catching up on videos finally) I may be having him rebuild mine or buy parts from him for mine. He really knows his stuff . I found my box was from a 64.5 and is the quick ratio and doesn't feel bad but hard to tell on the bench. I may also do the electric powersteering as well and those decisions aren't too far off.

Even a mild-mannered person, like myself, would be frustrated, upset and outraged to be put in this situation. Unbelievable too, that in addition, you had to pay return shipping for their mistakes! Fortunately, you have the knowledge, equipment and initiative to be able to correct the problem yourself. Robert's referral information was a really big help too. Maybe you should put him on your Christmas list? It pays to know someone

I held off doing this video until the final result was in and I had calmed down. It's good the camera is not always running...😉 Also, my local auto parts stores have started the same policy. If they have to order something, I have to pay up front (cost + shipping) and it is non refundable. WTF? With a policy like, that the internet parts houses will crush them. There is no longer an advantage to shopping local.

No other place to source the part? Great vids by the way! Thanks Don. I'm always glad to see Masters sharing their wisdom to the masses. So much knowledge has been lost because not everyone could (or wanted to) write books or had someone to hand down the knowledge to directly. With modern technology it has become much easier. Now as long as Google doesn't lose their datacenters we'll be ok ;)

Hey Josh, as you can imagine “good” parts for some things are hard to get. I’m just really tired of paying for promises that aren’t true. So I forge ahead.
