I was one of the people who bought the Mten3 on Marty's recommendation. As advertised it's been really, really fun. And at that price point it's "wife proof..." (Some married riders know what I mean....) ;•) Coming from the Nikola Plus, mounting the Mten3 is hilarious. It's like trying to step on a weasel that's adept at avoiding you! Then moving from the Mten3 back to the Nikola is like wearing someone else's legs. This makes me appreciate skilled riders that much more - they can transfer from one wheel to another effortlessly. It's good to have goals - and I'd like to be able to do that in a couple of months. And as a bonus, looks like I'll have a lot of time to practice... ;•) Great video, Marty...thank you!
Mine arrived on the doorstep this morning as I was watch ing this video! Wasn’t expecting it for another couple of days so pretty happy 😊 So easy to ride on one foot!
Hey Marty. I picked up the 67v version last week after watching your video. Love the wheel. I'm 6ft.2.. 240...wheel has no problem. Been riding it exclusively for a week. Got on my msx 100v yesterday. It took a few minutes to get used to the msx after riding such a small wheel for a week. The weight of the msx slowed everything down. Love my mten3. Thanks for recommending it.
I'm back on the msx again. Also bought a monster. Wow what a wheel. Its heavy but once you get going its pretty nimble. Monster is the perfect wheel for me it's very comfortable taking turns.
Same thing happened to me....ankle adjustment for sure. Did my Mten3 for a week and when I jumped on my 16x I was wobbling all over. Took me about 5 minutes to readjust
Love the channel. Just did some real quick math for you. If you factor the difference between a pretty out-there high (1,030 hPa) and a unusually deep low (980 hPa), you still only get 0.7 PSI difference in pressure. In practice, the weather pressure swing wouldn't have been that great, so the difference would be even less.
I bought this version of the Mten3 as my first EUC. for $600 its a bargain! I owned a Onewheel Pint when I bought the Mten. I couldn't believe that for almost $400 less than a Pint I was getting pretty much the same speed and range as a Onewheel XR. I found it to be an excellent training wheel. A week and a half later and I bought a Kingsong 16X for group rides but will never part with my Mten. You have stated it perfectly before, the Mten doesn't have the best speed or the most range but it is the most fun EUC you can own.
Thanks for the range test on this one. Being new to EUC's this looks like one to consider as a starter and then as a second eventually. The wobbles look they may be too much for a new rider, though.
I think my legs were a bit tired that day, regards the wobbles. Honestly, I've been hearing lots of feedback that the Mten3 is a fantastic wheel to learn on. It's a very affordable way to enter the EUC world with a powerful wheel.
😉 well i was hoping you have some rain and snow for change also feeling my canadian pain😂 paying my credit card and will get this little beauty! well done video Marty! thank you for making this possible👌🏻
Great li'l power house you got there Marty, very impressed to see that the M10-3 made the journey, great li'l wheel to keep by your side, or in your car for those sudden urges...lol And for some strange reason the M10-3 makes you appear taller Marty. 😜👍 ..good one!
I bet you can feel a difference in a EUC tire regarding changes in atmospheric pressure - that connection is so sensitive, wouldn't surprise me at all. I lived in Medicine Hat Alberta for a while - in the winter they get chinook winds that involve dramatic shifts in atmospheric pressure over short periods of time. I never payed attention to my tire pressure (just riding a bike), but I would physically feel odd during these shifts. doing some research, I discovered that the human body changes volume during these shifts, expands and contracts - that would effect how one feels.
This is a very good review because I may go for this wheel myself. I am 53 not looking for extended range and speed. On my electric skateboard, I normally do 12mph anyway. I was stupidly planning on buy an 1,800.00 One Wheel with push back nose dives and perhaps a busted up face? No thanks
@@ElectricUnicycles Thanks for the reply....may I ask you about the reliability by chance? On my other channel you recommend me to join a open forum on a EUC website which I promptly did😀👍can you tell me the Mten3 reliability over a year or two. Is It glitchy electronic fallout later on things that wont be my own negligence? What can you tell me that is prone to that wheel?
What is the difference between the 512wh 84v vs 67v model in terms of range and top speed? Is the 512 wh worth the $1000 vs the $599 in your opinion? For someone who commutes 6-7 miles to work with some 20 degree steep hills?
I just noticed the price of gas at 38:00. Dang, I just drove up the East coast, and I saw gas as low as $1.95/gal. Good thing most of your vehicles don't use gas.
Can this wheel charge with a rapid charger? I've read conflicting things concerning this. How long does the provided charger take? Thanks much, new sub here thats really enjoying your vids
There are many types of fast chargers. I probably would limit myself to 3-amps. The thing is, it doesn't really take that long to fully charge an Mten3 because it has a relatively small battery. I've never needed to fast charger my Mten3's.
I bought an 84volt 312 watt hour Mten3 about 3 weeks ago. Its my 1st wheel so the learning curve was steep. Riding 10 to 12 mph I get about 10 miles with around 20% battery left. I am experiencing a lot of wheel wobble around 16 to 18 mph, it seems pretty sensitive to tire pressure & foot placement.
Congrat's. Yeah, due to the nature of it being a fat 10-inch wheel, wobbles can be extreme. It's a super agile (sensitive) wheel, which is part of its appeal. But a cruiser it's not. For that you'll want a much bigger wheel.
@@ElectricUnicycles I figured out the wheel wobble, it was me bending/kneeling & not keeping my legs straight at the knee. I have put over 100 miles on it and really enjoying it :) I love cruising so going to spring for a Tesla next.
In the video I had the wheel misconfigured early so I was getting some speed related beeps (1st & 2nd alarm). Like all Gotway wheels, the first two alarms, if active, will sound when you exceed predetermined speeds. The 3rd alarm will sound when you exceed a set speed for a given battery limit. You can use Google to find what those values are.
I think Gotway is now only producing this one model. Unfortunately it's more expensive than the 67-volt version but this new 84-volt model is still great.
Hi sir, should be getting Mten3 in the next week or so. Can you tell me what apps I need to get started immediately? Also, what group/app are all the cool kids on to find like minds and posts ride experiences? If this goes well I'm aiming for the KS 16X in a couple of months. As always thanks for your help!!
I’m looking into this for my first EUC. I weight 145 lbs. I’m trying to find something that goes around 20 miles. Does this seem like a good first starter EUC ?
IMO this is a great inexpensive entry into the world of EUC's and a wheel that most people would always want to keep because of its fun factor. It cannot to 20-miles however. If you watched this video you know how far it can go. Even the bigger battery 84-volt version can only barely achieve 20-miles. Even at your weight I doubt this could achieve 20-miles.
I know you are not using MTen3 for speed, but have you measured the max speed of 67V version? I know my 84V Mten3 could go 36kmh and I am hoping 67V/420Wh can go at least 30kmh, just for the safety margin (by the way, I overheated it while learning to ride backwards and now consider switching to 67V instead of replacing the battery).
what camera are you using sir? I know its a 360degree cam but just wonder how can it take a view that looks like you are having the camera that is not attached to you
Yes. The red one is my original 84-volt model. I got the new 67-volt model so that I could compare the two and see if the $600 version is basically just as good (it is).
I'm not sure because I don't test the upper speeds of my wheels. But I didn't "feel" comfortable going faster than ~16-mph. I've been told by others that they can ride it to ~19-mph.
