Miss Gay, the door is beautiful 🤩 I love the rich dark woods ❤️. Well, I’m glad I have been listening to your soap box moments and others. We had severe flooding here a couple weeks ago. We live in the country and lost water and no access to town or stores for several days, and I hadn’t gotten my weekly groceries yet either. Thank the Lord, I had food on hand to make meals and plenty of bottled water for drinking, cooking and even washing. My son, his wife and baby lived in town and had to evacuate and they will have to find a new place to live, but again, thank the Lord they are safe and sound. I’m praying for protection for you with Beryl on it’s way 🙏🏼♥️
Oh, Mary, I hope folks are listening. We just never know what we will face. I am sorry about your son's flood....but so thankful with you they are ok. I do love the door.....thank you for watching and always commenting.
I like cake and I don’t care what kind it is. That’s a big old basket of eggs, lucky you. When I went to my mother’s house today, she couldn’t wait to give me a slice of pound cake she had made, first time she ever made one, it was delicious. She has arthritis and she used the food processor, it’s easier for her, but it worked so well. Beautiful door, I love it. May the hurricane pass you by.
I think I like food. Period. It likes me too cause it stays with me!!!😂😂😂😂. Omgoodness. I hate hurricane season! You never know! Thank you on the door. I love it!!!
I have enjoyed your style of cooking. You are the only one I keep on subscription. Love your closeness to God and the way you remind us of His love. Thanks
This is my kind of cake! I'll be saving this one for when the weather cools down a bit! Your front door is beautiful! Love the little window to see without opening the door. Scott is done with his treatments! All Glory to God as the cancer is gone! It's been a long 2 1/2 years of treatments and then 6 months from the surgery beforehand. He has been through so very much but God brought him through it all! Now we have to work on his lungs and get them stronger as Covid got him twice and wrecked his lungs. I'll be praying that hurricane misses you!
@ApronstringsGayJordan keep us in prayer still Gay. His lungs are very very bad even with oxygen 24/7. We have felt the prayers! It's how we have gotten through all of this!
It is true. Watch...when you dig a post hole on the increase....you have dirt left over filling it...on the decrease....not enough to fill the hole around the post.
What an amazing recipe this is. Who would think to put cherries in an apple cake, but, I believe it would certainly enhance the flavor. I must make this. Your home is lovely and your new door is beautiful. I’m so glad you have it to enjoy. Stay well.
Hi there Gay, what a beautiful door and I love that you can have a little door to look out if someone is there without opening the door. Your apple cake sounds so good. I need a slice right now to eat with my coffee. We’re watching the gulf too. You never know what those storms will do. Praying you will be safe.❤️✝️🙏
Snuck this in i missed it play catch up though. Pray the weather does not get real bad for you all an God protects your tree.I have eat my share of raw dough .Still here. Love your porch an the door is perfect .your ho.e is lovely.❤
Howdy! Glad you got in on this one! It is a keeper! We are supposed to get much rain and some wind from Beryl....but not as bad as some in the past. Thankful!!!!! I am praying for my tree......it's old and has been thru a lot in its years!
Wow! I've got to try this version. Mine just calls for apples. Mine also has a caramel sauce for it. Actually my sister's version she got from her MIL called for boiling a can of sweetened condensed milk til caramelized and then spreading on the cake. The other recipe I got from a coworker had a caramel sauce. I don't think either one called for nuts. This one looks so good. I love cherries!
Girl, this is the best I have ever had. So moist....a real treat!!!! I cut both of them up and froze in pieces to bring out when I want something sweet for me or company! It is even better after it thaws....just moist and delicious!
Hold your breath while spraying oil in cake pan. Step away and breath again. Insides of one's body get coated with any spray. It is so handy I would like to forget this problem.
You know, I have warned folks about pam....but...totally forgot to mention it. I always hold my breath when I spray. I might have got to talking and forgot this time. Thanks for the reminder!!!!!!!
Your cake looks amazing. I love the cherries in it. I would have never thought to do that. I'm definitely going to try it. My mom would give me and my twin sister (RIP Donna. I love you) the beaters and give my little brother the bowl. We would get finished with the beaters and we'd sweet talk (more like threaten) David out of some of his. Great memories. We only have Kroger delivery where I live. I wish they would build a store close to me. I always here people talking about how good they are. However, I am thankful for the delivery service. I might not get all the deals others do but the ones I can get are really good. Do you still make your aprons my friend. I was going to show them to my Aunt but I can't find a link. Am I missing something?
