Ms. Gay, I hated to hear that about your chickens. I lost 3 of my best layers to a coyote! He's no problem anymore cause he's dead. Just like my beautiful hens, he won't be coming back. It's so good to see you again. I keep you in my prayers. It's been a rough road for you and a different kind of life's journey, but the Lord is faithful to get you through it. This cake looks delicous! It might be a pound cake, but after I eat it, I'll be 5 pounds heavier! Love you much, Ms. Gay. God bless you with all the goodness He offers us through His Son. 🙏❤
I’m so very sorry to hear about your chickens and yes I agree about getting a few things ahead as we never know what might be taking place here. I just love your channel and you are the sweetest lady. Thanks for sharing with your you-tube family. God bless you always. 🙂❤
Good morning! I sure was sad about my hens. They were like pets. Yes......get a few things ahead........we never know. Thank you for your sweet comment . I love sharing with y'all.... my Strings family!
We’re in a cold spell here. Will be like this till next week. You are so right doesn’t hurt to have something put up. Don’t have to run to the store at last minute. That pound cake looks good. Strawberries with it and a little whip cream. Yummy. Glad to see you Gay. Sorry about your chickens. Sending love and Prayers. Stay safe and well
Bless your heart, you truly brighten my day. Your beautiful smile, your cheerfulness. You are such a blessing to us all. Thank you for being you and for being here for us. I am truly sorry to hear about your chickens but I see you are looking on the bright side and planning your new flock. Now, may I please have a piece of that wonderful cake as you cut a piece for yourself. And yes, I would like some strawberries and whipped cream on mine, please. Sit down for a minute and rest and let’s enjoy the beauty around us. Wishing you a great week!
I'm so sorry about your chickens☹but happy to hear your future plans for them. The cake looked really good and strawberries would be perfect! It never hurts to stock up on extras which I have been doing for quite awhile now. Wise words. God bless and keep you, Gay.
Hey Gay! I'm so sorry to hear about your ladies! I have a neighbor that let's her dog and cats run loose. It makes me so mad. Your cake looks wonderful! You take care of yourself. Pam ❤
Ms Gay your Mama's cake recipe sounds soooo good and is beautiful. I'm so sorry your little ladies were attacked, you were blessed to have a friend there at that time to help you. Blessings to you Dear Sister.
That’s a cute idea with the cabinet door. Your cake looks delicious. I’m so sorry about your chickens. That aggravates me when people dote take care of their dogs and they have to run around killing to get food. You have a blessed day.❤
Oh man!! I hate to hear that about your“little ladies “. The cake looked wonderful!! Looking forward to your next video 😊. I am ready for warmer weather as well. Blessings to you and your family!
Glad to see you back. That pound cake looks good I wish you would have sliced it. So sorry to hear about your little ladies. Glad to see you Smile coming back.
I’m so sorry to hear about your little ladies. We love our chickens too. I love the idea you had for the cabinets I remember when you posted this recipe and I saved it and have made it several times. My family loves it. Be well and blessed my sweet friend. ❤
Thank you so much Gay for sharing. We love pound cake. I am so sorry to hear of your chickens getting killed. My daughter who lives in Brenham lost five the other night to raccoons. It’s real wooded a d they climb the trees and drop down and then dug under to get in the coop. She went out and hopefully reinforced everything. It’s a real shame. I know you posted this several months ago but I guess I just missed it. Thank you again for sharing. God bless you.❤️🤟✝️🙏🇺🇸
I read that if you buy coyotes dried urine (humans can’t smell it) The coons won’t come. They think they’ve marked their territory. And are afraid. I bought on Amazon. Gonna see if it works.
Thank you dear lady,im so very sorry about your dear garden girls 🐔, i feel very sad for you too,i also have some garden girls and they really are my dear sweet friends, each have names,.i m sending you a hug and my prayers 🙏.oh my the pound cake mmm!looks yum,,!.i shall make one.do take care, thankyou again, from me and my girls 🐔, Heather uk 🇬🇧 x
Hello over there!!!!!!! Yes, my little ladies are my pets.....so special to me. I am still so sad. You do need to try the cake. It is yummy! Freezes well....Have a blessed day!
Well. I don’t comment often and now here I am commenting several times. You have made my mouth water for strawberries and pound cake. I love to just get the fresh strawberries, cut them up and put some sugar and good vanilla, and let them macerate in the sugar and make a wonderful strawberry syrup. As for preparation as you speak. I live in a tiny one room garage apartment on my brother and sister in laws land. ( thank goodness for family. ). But we are prepping for a garden. And started plants a while back. Here in the panhandle we are still having some pretty chilly nights. Hard freeze night before last. So cannot yet put the garden out. But beautiful sunshine today. We live on family property, on rim of Palo dura canyon. Drought in progress so a lot of deer come up looking g for food. So high fences are necessary over garden area. My brother had to dig down deep and put in protection. A snake got one of our hens last year. And something, not sure what got Betty white. One of the other hens. We only have four hens left, several years old. So, new chicks will be arriving in about a week. Sister in law is getting g a place ready for them in the barn. And making it in a way to protect them from the mouser cat who lives in the barn. So…..spring is springing. And all the outside work that comes with it. 😊😊
I just love you comment. Lots of good visiting!!!!!!!!! I am so looking forward to Spring gardening! It is here, I think. YOu never know , though. We sometimes get a cool spell at Easter. I am being cautious....waiting a bit more. I did buy a few plants. Most I direct seed. I didnt get any started yet....I will do that for succession planting . The good Lord bless you!
Happy Valentines Day Dear Friend ❤, sending a big hug! I’ve been using our lemons, lemon bars, lemon cake, lemonade. I will definitely be making your mamas pound cake.
I'm getting caught up on videos! I am so sorry about your hens 😢. That's sad. Mine are starting to ramp up on their laying. I love it when the days get longer! The cake looks delicious! Take Care and God Bless ❤️
Yum, looks delish.....I'm so sorry to hear about your hens. I love my girls like you do. You can always let a hen go broody. She can hatch some eggs out for you. If you're looking for a dark maran egg, check out the French Black Tail Maran, they're my favorite. I emailed you in regards to an apron. No rush, I'm in no hurry whatsoever.
My three favorite cakes: pound (especially lemon), carrot and the fairly new coca cola cake. Gay, don't forget to claim the same promises of God that you share with your audience. I love pound cake with either milk or coffee. Thank you
Oh Gay, when you said 1,2,3,4 cake, I immediately thought of the Christian humorist Jeanne Robertson and her video 'Don't send a man to the grocery store'. It's well worth the watch at you tube. That sure is a purty cake!
Angie...thank you ...the cake is delicious. And, my poor little hens. They were blindsided. It has all been a terrible thing. workers are still here off and on....I will be so glad to get to normal. ( I deleted marco and forgot to tell you) I will call soon and visit. I've had friends to die, so much to deal with. Hugs n love to you!
I’m sorry about your loss… but I’m glad you got the dog. I lost 13 to a bob cat… I kept asking my hubby to get my gun but he hit it from me… it’s been over two years and he still won’t give me my gun back ( he did build me a very large secured coop. That pound cake looks amazing… definitely trying it on my next days off. ❤❤❤❤❤
Goodness! You make me just want to pull up stakes in Cypress and come be your neighbor in Cleveland! Then I could drop in for a slice! God bless, Miss Gay!
Hey Pretty Lady,I love watching your videos and I have used several of your recipes.I feel like I know you personally.😢Sorry about the loss of your sweet ladies.Thank you for the videos!
I don’t know what is happening. Some of the channels I have subscribed to, my subscriptions have totally been dropped. And I rarely get the notifications. So not sure what is happening. But as a fellow Texan. I want to watch each video. We miss ya when you are gone and busy and love it when you are on. But are totally with you. Life and all that comes with it comes first.
Awwww.....good ole Texans!!!!!! Thank you so much for being here .....and commenting. It is great to get to know my folks!!!! Have a blessed week......dream of Spring!
@@ApronstringsGayJordan I too live in the country and rescue animals that have been dumped. I make them into fur babies, they are always so grateful. I certainly understand about our girls. Coyotes got my geese. Fur babies live in my home and have a 6 ft chain link enclosure so they can't get anyone's girls. SHALOM
I gotta say I believe the full moon makes cakes higher, I looked at the difference between this one and the one you made years ago, they look totally different. I baked a banana bread yesterday and it was perfection, the weather changes a lot in baking also. I have to make this one, I have made the other one several times and this is next on my list, I love pound cake. Sorry you had to go through that with your girls, I know how much you love them, its a shame people don't control their animals making others suffer because they let them run wild, or dump them on the side of the road, blame the owners of those dogs. Some one was looking out for you with the friend showing up to help. Bet that pound cake was good, it looks delicious. $1.47 for strawberries, wish we had deals like that here.
Did you use all purpose or self rising flour? This cake looks delicious!! Saved it to make next week thank you for sharing. So sorry to hear about your chickens
Thanks for the tip about baking on the full moon or as it's rising. Those old tips are invaluable! Great idea about the chalkboard paint on the inside of the cabinet! I'm so sorry about your little ladies! You should always carry whenever you step outside of your door Gay. It may be inconvienient at times but step out that door, have your friend with you! I've had you on my mind about always carrying it with you! Keep your eyes on The Lord at all times! We are his children and he will protect us! Keep in his Word also no matter what changes and challenges we will be facing in the very near future. Stock up what you can whenever you can. It has really seen us through this past year or two with everything that's been thrown our way. I must can this year as we are running low on most of the things i can up! Hopefully food will still be available and affordable at my farmers markets. I can't grow what all i need to can up! Don't have the room so i really depend on local farmers! Your cake looks scrumptious as everything you make does!
I am hoping to buy some peas and green beans to can. I can't grow enough in the raised beds.....you are right about my friend....I will make that a priority.
I didn't know that about the full moon and baking cakes. I have eaten my words at times too. My Momma used to say the Gov't was listening to use through the TV and Daddy said one day we will be able to see who we are talking to on the phone. I said to them both that's crazy how can that happen and now we have smart TVs and I have heard about listening devices in them I am not so sure about that though but who knows but the telephone we have video call now. Sorry about your chickens. I wonder if they were someone's dogs and they got out of their yard. Your cake looks nice.
Those dogs are wild abandoned dogs. We live out in the country on a dead end road. There are folks that will just dump dogs off.... It's sad for the dogs and a terrible problem for us.
Ooh 😮. I’m so thankful at least one of the dogs are gone. You shouldn’t have to build a fortress around your house in order to have peace. I’m with you, I love birds and if I lived in the country I’d have me some chickens. I love them. I do have pet birds. An african grey parrot and a mustache parakeet. I’ve had them for 29 years. I’m getting old and tired and don’t want any more pets but I love what I have. This cake is so much easier than some I’ve seen. I will buy some extra butter and make me one..will add some strawberries for a topping. Bless your heart Gay. Your voice is so soothing and comforting. You’re like Lori on Whipporwill Hollow. And you’re both wiser than 20 of todays women put together. Everyone lives for today without a care or worry about what’s going on in this world. I choose to be prepared and thank you for trying to open the eyes of the less informed. I love you sweet lady.. God bless you . ❤🙏🏻
Oh...I love parrots. I have had several. I found out I cant have them due to the "dust" from their sweet selves. That dander gets my allergies all messed up. I had an african gray, double yellowhead, smaller gray. I loved them. I would have one right now if I could.
@@ApronstringsGayJordan I understand, the greys are extremely dusty . Not as bad as a cockatoo but bad enough. I keep my grey misted daily. He loves it. He’s a good talker too. You have a blessed Valentine’s Day. ❤️
Glad to hear some one say good enough to bake with not drink. May make this for my birthday . THE Bible say a sign for all things or some thing to that affect.Ecclesiastes 3:2-8 King James Version 2 A time to be born, So sorry about your chicken.
It's sad that 6 chickens and one dog had to die because of irresponsible pet owners. I fight the same battle where I live, I've lost two of my best layers to someone's livestock guardian dog that they just let run all over the countryside. It makes me so mad.
It is a constant battle out here ...outside the city limits. Dogs are dumped regularly. I thought my wooden fence kept them out. I guess where there is a will....there is a way!
I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your precious chickens. My daughter has 6 hens that she loves and takes such good care of them, and shares her eggs with her son and me,they are delicious and I can't hardly eat store bought eggs now. Lol she has spoiled me! But I do hope you have no more trouble with keeping your chickens safe. Your pound cake looks so good,I have some strawberries, I would love to bring my berries and share with you!!! I enjoy your videos, I feel like I know you,and I wish you were my neighbor!!!❤😊 May God bless you and be with you everyday!!!
