Hi Melissa Good job well done by a lovely lady , mike should watch and learn from your splitting technique, you stacked similar sizes so not to keep moving splitting head , working smart not hard is the way to go , think mikes just lost his job at the splitter , get him out sawing and you do the splitting that is doubling production and halving the time till you have that pool , well done you and regards Davy P

@@johnmoyers3042 in my mind, I picture Mike sitting at his desk planning on his computer the layout for his pole barn / indoor pool , wood drying floor, wood Weiser platform, and attachment shop. With a heated floor up to and maybe including the Wood Mizer. With the boiler building Outback fired by a sawdust pellet burner. With the indoor pool closest to the house, but not attached for tax purposes. LOL how do you like that for living precariously through Mike.

Well done Melissa my only comment would be to keep your left hand on the round at about the middle a little further away from the splitter part this will insure your hand is far enough away while the round begins to split. This will really help if you forget to move your hand back you still have time to pull your hand away and be safe.

@earlhollar1906
@earlhollar1906 4 года назад
Do you not know or understand the reason for that platform before it falls onto the conveyor? It has slots in it to alow small splinters and bark to fall through and not clog up the conveyor. Also the platform is for retrieving pieces that didn't split completely the way you want them, so you can retrieve them and split them again. I hope this has relieved your anxiety a little?

That Lariat is pretty fancy! Plus, 3 tractors with every attachment, log splitter, conveyor, sawmill and anywhere from a few hundred to thousands a week in tools and knick knacks. Oh and an adult treehouse! I say go to the pool store and order you a pool. Mike can dig the hole with one of the tractors and save some money! lol

Melissa your twice as fast as Mike. One thing you don't worry about cleaning all the wood from the deck into the elevators. Evert split two two Mile moves it all out of the way. Your focus on what you want to do, and go at it. Now about that Pool. How much does it cost? Say $30,000 at $200 an hour splitting. Would be 160 hours splitting. Can Mike keep up the schedule? These are just estimates. Not including Mike tree cutting hauling times. Paid ad for Wolf Ridge hehehe

Mel, great job, but 2 things, love your hair, that color suits you Sooo much, but for safety please pull it back into a bun and up under you tabogan hat, one slight over look while bending over near moving parts can have your head pinned and in a bad position in seconds if you hair happens to get caught in something. Second, control the house cleaning mentality of straightening up things, in putting your hands down near the conveyor moving wood along, grab you a cut piece of wood and make a stick out of it to move that stiff along, just keep hands clear, moral of my comment, stay safe as I know you're trying to do... ☺... Keep this in mind,,the more you use that splitter the more likely you are to cut off a finger or 2. It happens all around the world every day. From experienced people that have been doing it for years. I have seen it first hand happen. It takes a blink of a eye and your fingers are lying on the ground. You might just make a minor mistake and be close but get away with it,,its probably already happened to you at least once. Them close calls are very close to the loss of fingers,closer than you might think. And trying to go fast ,getting tired or cold hands will make it even worse. Playing with big boy toys is dangerous. If you do cut off a finger,,dont worry,,it dont hurt at all. At least for first 10 minutes or so. Pick the finger up and take it with you in your pocket to the doctor. Maybe he can sew it back on or he will put it in a jar for you to keep on a shelf. It took me awhile to type all this with only 3 fingers!!! lol (JK)

Melissa used proper methods, including hearing protection. She also used the full capacity for multi-splitting large logs. I do not know how much off camera spitting she has done. She clearly stepped up to the plate in this video. She worked like stevedore, while looking like a swimwear model. She ran out of Firewood, but not out of energy. I hope she will learn to pace herself, when she has a larger load to split. There is a balance between speed and endurance I am sure she will find with more experience. She will not muscle up in response to the work, as a man would. Men bulk up like bears, their muscle cells multiply faster. Ladies do not have this shortcut to strength. They must work their muscles harder for the same output. It is bear versus gazelles. Melissa drives herself because she understands this instinctively. She is an experienced athlete, pushing herself hard as part of new challenge. Any athlete may overdo, working in a new area. Her drive is very impressive, it borders on scary, and we never see it all. God bless you All.

Since Melissa does the work of at least three people, maybe the revenue from the firewood should be multiplied by three and put directly into the swimming pool fund! Just a thought! 😂

Great job, efficient-fast and yet safe. Mike you might as well start getting a pool designer lined up as I see one in the Morgan's future. "Hey Hunter" from Western Nebraska. I miss your BK runs.
