Just a quick update on the 69 Bay window. Have decided to remove the entire floor. I feel it's the only way to get to the frame. Also have painted the wheels and trying to get my work space organised.
Both your wheels and bumpers look great! It's funny because as far along in my restoration as I am, I still haven't refurbished my wheels and bumpers. But that is coming this Spring, so I'm glad I am following you.
Nooice! 😎 STOC...WOW! Super idea! Soo much easier to move and the wheels look fantastic! Not sure how much of the floor you will be removing, might need to weld in temporary braces to maintain shell /body alignment. Great progress my friend!
Pretty sweet PStreet. It’s always nice when you have money to buy new toys. I might have been against removing the floor cuz it’s so nice but I was also in favor of drilling out spot welds to remove cross members so it makes more me sense to just drill all the spot welds and cut the remainder to fully remove floor so you can do the job right. Get ‘er done 😆
Havent tried yet, but i saw someone use a centre drill used by machinists. Its double ended. Wheels look good! Use a good wire wheel, cheap ones arent balanced. Princess auto has a good grinding wheel dresser,T style. Works well.
The wheels look great! Do you have any teenage boys in the neighborhood who would drill out spot welds for $.50 each? It might end up costing you 100 bucks but it’ll sure save your knees and back. Let you work on the less monotonous things. This is such a cool vehicle!
Dude you are making some crazy progress. Let us know how that spot weld tool works. Tires are a bitch to find for 14. Literally only had 1 option that wasn’t a trailer tire in California.
