My name is Stephan, I'm a car enthusiast. I love all cars old, new, exotics, classics and beaters. I have owned over 20 cars. I am currently rebuilding a 1962 Mercury Comet S22. I also own a 2003 Mercury Marauder, a 1990 C4 Corvette convertible as well as a 2012 Mustang. I also putter around with my kids cars. A 500 dollar Honda Civic And a troublesome 2013 Chev Cruze. My current daily driver is a 2016 Tacoma.
Did that paint on my rims, I didn't do a clear coat and should have. I got it so smooth and did not think it needed a ckear coat. Was I wrong. This paint for some reason does not stand up well against strong chemicals like some of their other paints do. I would recommend that you do a good 2 to 3 layer clear coat over this aint if you do not want it to spoil for the slightest reason. Without a clear coat it scuffs to a dark matt color and come chemicals like benzene just eats the crap out of it even though their matt black could withstand benzene. But if you want a smooth silver finish this is the paint and going to redo mine with clear coat soon.
Hey they make a paint from revell model paint chrome.. its expensive but im telling you its veryyyyy chrome like..... looks very good.. just like chrome you should try that
Yeah that clear gave it a matte look. Still looks good though. I think center caps would make it look nicer but I bet finding them would be difficult. Good job overall keep up the good work!
You and I need a good anval. There is a Chinese man that makes all his own molded metal. When I find it. I'll forward it to you. I can tell you were a good leader in your previous job
That filter ( strainer ) location & camera angles makes it look easier than it is, not well represented, it's a big pain in the ass to get it put back together
Stephen from what I can c from my house, 👀 The work you did is pretty dang good. They didn't spend that much time in the factory making sure all that is sealed off and coated. This bus is going to be around for many years to come. 👍
Try WD-40 to get the overspray off. Better than goof-off HOW DO YOU KNOW? Working near your CAT I see Nooooo on the clearcoat. If they are aluminum.... it would have been better to spend the two hours a tire and use a metal polisher tool. WALK AWAY . I'm waiting for the M.O.T.
