Today I did the 50 hours initial service on the Kubota L2501. Changed hydraulic filter, transmission filter, Engine oil and filter. Also be sure to grease, adjust the clutch and check the engine start system.
These oil change and service videos are always a hit. There are so many new tractor buyers out here that it may be their first time ever doing a service on a tractor. t can be very intimidating at first but the learning curve can easily be mastered. Thanks for sharing this Ritchie. You did an outstanding job. You explained everything very well and you had a good rhythm to your work. Outstanding! Full watch and a thumbs up. See you for the next one.
I really appreciate your feedback on this one Gary. I hope this video can help someone out there. The maintenance really is an easy task that the average person can do and is good to help get to know the tractor.
Just found your video. Nice job explaining the process. I bought the L2510 yesterday and am chomping at the bit for delivery next week. When you were showing the hydro fluid sight glass, I noticed a torx head screw wedged in between the tunnel cover and the floorboard. Hope you noticed it too before it worked its way out and ending up in a tire. Thanks again!
Nice job Richie 👍 I like doing my own maintenance too. Like you said gives you a chance to see if anything is going on that needs attention. Have a great Sunday 🚜💨💡😁👍
Hi Richie! This was a nice and informative video for L2501 owners - and curious B2601 owners like me! So the 50 hour service on both tractors is pretty similar but it looks like your filters are way easier to get to. When I did my 50 hour service, I tried to quickly replace the hydraulic filter but I lost about as much fluid into the catch pan as you did. Good thing I had a 2 gallon supply on hand. Thanks for sharing!
Different models and brands have a suction screen inside the transmission where main pickup tube bolts . Probably one of the biggest mistakes I have seen in servicing a tractor . When your hydraulics are jumpy or have a cavitation sound or start too wine it’s usally the suction hydraulic filter or the suction screen inside plugged . New tractor owners or used buyers need too know these things . Can be a really bad costly mistake if not serviced properly . Good service demonstration 👍👍
Great video! I recently purchased a L2501. While speaking to the service manager about service tips he said to use a shop vac and pull a vacuum at the hydraulic fill port and that will reduce hydraulic fluid loss diring filter change.
Some people do that, losing a gallon didn’t break the bank. Some people use a clean pan and dump it back in as well. Be sure to check your front axle fluid !!
Ritchie this was such a great video. I now feel confident servicing my L2501 myself. Thank you for the great tips too ie; air blow and brake clean before removing filters. As well as the 30 psi air filter blow out.
Im really happy i was able to help Donna! I will have a new video up soon about checking the fluid in the front axle as i have seen that many kubotas have came low on fluid from the factory!
@@HillsideAcres when my Kubota L2501 was delivered from the dealer I found so many details that I needed to address. One important one was a coolant line that wasn't pushed on and clipped properly. Thank you for your knowledge.
Bonsoir mon ami 😉👌 So it is all in metric systems 👍😉 Nice in deed to have a magnet for oil filter 👍😉🧐 You did an OUTSTANDING MAINTENANCE VIDEO mon ami 😉👍 Have a safe week to both of you Cheers 🙏😇👍😉
How's she goin'? It great to be able to do your own maintenance and oil changes. And it sure helps with the operation of the tractor to get these checks done. One nice thing about tractors is they are a lot easier to work on than a car. Most of the maintenance parts and drain plugs are easy access. Nice job and some good tips on doing the maintenance. Have a great week!!
It wasn’t that hard! The worst for me was cracking the seals on everything since I’m an old(ish) lady and not very strong. I didn’t do the hydro filter yet since I have a backhoe and it looks like the hose for that may be in the way. But anyway thanks again!
You can buy an internal fine dust filter for inside of the regular air filter. They are blue colored and run around 15-20$. I was surprised to see the factory didnt add one. They only need to be changed every 200 hours or so.
Nice video. Few notes: I had no problems conducting the service with the loader on. Manual suggests that you do not drive it immediately. You should run it for a few on a medium speed and check the hydraulic fluid.
Great video!! Just purchased a 2018 L2501 with only 58 hrs on it. I’m doing fluid check and will be doing the 50 hr service. I’m not mechanical at all so warning, dumb question coming…. The glass sight on the hydronic fluid level, if it’s a solid white color, does that meant it’s low on fluid?
@@HillsideAcres ok. I’ll make sure to do that and see if anything changes. So if the tractor stays parked and not used for a few days, the peak glass will give a reading of not enough fluid? But if you use the hydraulics and then check the fluid, that’s the accurate reading?
Great video on the first service. Quick question little off subject. Is that a 7ft garage door on your garage? Just double checking that the 01s will fit in a standard 7 ft. door with ROPS down. Thanks!
That’s at my house I think the garage is actually shorter than7’ I did the service at the house because I didn’t have the slab over at the shop yet but you should have no prob with standard door just don’t forget to fold down the rops and good habit to have them up when operating even if you don’t think you will need it
This is the first time I've changed oil in my l2501 and I put fluid in it looking at the dipstick there's oil on it but there's a small. Or hole up above the tip is that where it's supposed to be not like a car engine where it says hot cold and little check marks can you help thanks
Both good manufacturers. It makes me feel good buying the stuff with the orange label lol. I would also only use the kubota brand filters so its nice to get it all in a one stop shop!
Best way to get filters would be through local dealer or online deal. Provide them with your serial # to ensure correct fitment. Aftermarket filters will wit but won’t offer the same performance
