There is something just therapeutic about splitting wood. You get in a groove and can do it for hours. Glad to see you are getting the splitter under cover as I hated to see it sit outside. That utility barn is a much needed item to cover all your equipment. Hey Hunter! ✋🏻👴🏻

You should visit Fryeburg fair in Fryeburg Maine. It’s from Sunday October 4th to the 11th.The first Monday is Woodsmen day and the place is packed. Definitely worth it!

Wow that's quite a setup. I go all over my aria getting firewood through the summer. 2 or 3 cords will keep the fire place going all winter. saves me about 1000 $ a year. Hand split it with the help of my little grandson. Lots of fun. Never been work to me.

Greetings from No. VT - Mike, I feel your pain on the weather. On Sunday the temp started out at -15 degrees with 18" of new snow from Saturday. Today (Monday) we started at 25 degrees and spiked up to 35 or so which is beating down the snow and soaking the ground again. Suggestion for all that hemlock and red pine - build a year round enclosure for Melissa's pool so she can use it both summer and winter! Those are both really good in high humidity settings.

Awesome video, Morgans. I’ve been pretty quiet, had a heart cath two week ago tomorrow, at my age it takes time to bounce back. We finally got about 2 inches of snow Saturday but it was gone pretty quick: been raining since and at least two more days, you don’t happen to have a small Ark plan, huh? Melissa Morgan , I’m doing ok, just slow. I didn’t have a heart attack, just was having pains when I strained picking up something fairly heavy, so drove me and my wife about 30 miles to the ER. They ran a bunch of test and almost didn’t keep me but my BP went a little crazy, so anyway, finally on a heart Cath and I had 95% blockage. I had one 22 years ago so if this one last that long, I’ll be good to go haha. Thank so much for asking. ❤️ to all.

Talking of how do you live without things Mike how about a basic trailer? We live in SW France where everyone, it seems, has a trailer. In Uk I never had one and here I don't know how I could get by without one. Collecting wood, going to the recycling yard and many other things. A trailer is just so useful.

Have you folks considered powering the conveyor from the hydro system on the splitter? Although it may not be practical for everyone, for a setup like Mike has here, it would eliminate an extra motor to attend to. Maybe you already have it, just thinking aloud. Thanks!

We are unable to do that on a small machine like Mike's set up. Conventional 2 stage pumps do not work well with hydraulic motors for conveyors. Thanks!

Perfect timing on this video, Mike! Had a very busy morning, and would not have caught the 8 o'clock show as usual. Dreary rainy day here in Southeastern Pennsylvania, and basically a mud bath! Going to be a work in the garage afternoon, and the Morgans to keep me company! When will it ever dry out? If this keeps up, you guys will spend half your day cleaning up Ruger and Piper!!!!🐕😂

9" of fresh snow in Mukwonago, WI. Doesn't the snow and rain rust the conveyor or splitter. I have a big box Chinesse splitter and it hurts any time it get wet. It stored till April since I have enough wood cut & split to last the rest of the season. The only thing I leave out all year round is the smoker, use it 3 to 4 times a week Hi to the family

Mike, That wolf ridge is a beast. I was wondering if they have an option for the valve that operates the ram to keep retracting on it's open once you initiate the retracting? It would allow you to have the ram return to home on it's own without having to keep your hand on the lever. You could be loading more logs while it's returning.

Do you add any thing to your gas tank on the splitter to absorb water as the fuel cap is covered in snow. Yes the caps are good to prevent that but in the off chance. I know on my snowblower and my atv I put some in the tanks periodically during the winter months. Condensation may also be a source of water.

How many cords do you burn in a season? Out here in the sunny SoCal mountains, from mid- October to May, we will go through 1-2 cords of black oak and coastal live oak in our airtight stove. Started splitting with a 10 lb sledge, maul and wedges in the ‘60’s. I now have a custom built 80 ton splitter. Not very fast, but I have yet to find a log that it won’t split. And I do get my exercise in lifting the rounds.

West is the best.We love Yellowstone. RECOMMEND FLYING AND RENTING A CAR/TRUCK Unless you have time Its a LONG drive but beautiful. Mid September to late October is the Fall festival at Silver Dollar city Bronson Mo. Its pretty good. We could get together if you do that. Mike, just wondering if the splitter could be adjusted so each time you run the cylinder to split a round it would actually split it all the way or at least closer than it does now? It seems to me that every other one or even more you have to pull it apart especially when you are splitting the larger rounds. Just wondering not criticizing.
