I totally share your thoughts about slow living. Nowadays one can fall into the trap thinking that a fast paced lifestyle is more productive even though it isn’t. I dare say it prevents us from thinking about the deeper meaning of things in life which in the long term can cause a loss of purpose
My 11yr old has adopted you as her role model- couldn’t ask for a better one! We drink tea together, she has re-discovered her love of reading (emptying the dishwasher is a work in progress), thank you Ruby!
@@RubyGranger8 of course, she will be over the moon! She is currently sitting outside, book in hand with a cup of herbal tea. Looking forward to your next video
I love how she says “it’s starting to get warm” while she proceeds to put on like 3 sweaters, a coat and scarf, and fills up a hot water bottle 😂 England tingz
i feel like im in a rush every day, you gave me a whole new perspective on living. i always thought productivity=do as much as you can in every minute of your life and i just realized its so not
So need a slow life to be able to replenish their spoons 🥄. Look up spoon theory. Many on the spectrum run out so fast, and that’s when the almost need to completely stop to begin recharging to be able to face the world once again, I know I sure do.
*Don't compare your 2. Chapter to someome elses 20. Chapter. Compare yourself to just your yesterday. And if you constantly see an improvement that means you are on the right track.* I hope you have an amazing day. 🖤
this video was lovely! I would definitely love to see more slow-living content from you, I find it’s such good motivation to focus on happiness and being content rather than trying to be busy and fill your life with meaningless tasks.
Everyday i come to Ruby’s channel at around 3am, binge about 5 of them, become very inspired and start reading 5 books. Then plan what im going to do the next day and end up waking up at 12 and doing zero homework! love that for me 😭😭
It is better to follow one's own path imperfectly than to follow someone else's path perfectly.... for to follow someone else's path is dangerous- The Bhagvad Gita
Yes for slow living content! Especially slow living as a university student, because I am one as well, and it’d be so helpful and interesting to see!🤗🤗
"The winners in life treat their body as if it were a magnificent spacecraft that gives them the finest transportation and endurance for their lives." (Denis Waitley)
Whenever you go on a walk on your videos, it reminds me of this quote from David Copperfield "To hear the wind getting up out at sea, to know that the fog was creeping over the desolate flat outside, and to look at the fire, and to think that there was no other house near but this one, and this one a boat was like enchantment." (Also Drone shots were 🤩🤩)
Haven't watched yet, just going on the title, but I'll be glad to see you embracing a slower pace as you get older, rather than studying all day every day and getting caught in that productivity lifestyle.
Oh, please do share more slow living routines/videos. It's so relaxing and inspiring. Makes me realize I can be productive whilst being calm and enjoying life more slowly, and not stress myself all the time (which is why my anxiety is, unfortunately, always at very high levels......). So, please do more videos like these.... They really help me and they're wonderful to watch as well
This is so lovely, Ruby! Makes me feel so cosy and motivate me to actually enjoy every little moment of my life and spend my time mindfully 😊. I would love more slow life videos!!
Hey, I was in the same spot an year ago, believe me doing the most trivial tasks will empower you to work on the most daunting ones. Just get up (I know it's hard), and start on something, anything. Also, it will get better, keep on loving yourself, you're AMAZING!!!♥✨
take it slow, step by step, you will see yourself doing more and more things as long as you don't pressure yourself! it is a long way to get to ruby's level of productivity :)
You might not like the answer (I sure didn’t) but it’s really just lowering the bar to the ground and start building it back up little by little and learning to accept having to lower it back up again and restarting the building process. Find out your own boundaries, what feels like pushing it and what makes you feel instantly overwhelmed to figure out how low the bar should be. When I started trying to get out of depression -3 years ago, my bar was waking up, and it quickly became making it to school. Now, my bar is doing at least two "productive" things a day and seeing the things I have to do as projects rather than just one time things on a to-do list. My next goal will probably be learning to do things without external pressure being my driving force, so I can do things for myself! Last but not least, learning to not compare yourself to others is so hard but so important in the long run. It’s really worth focusing on and trying to get help for :)
i'm not that early but hi :) I just wanted to say that your videos are probably the only thing that keeps me motivated these days. Sense i'm not from an english-speaking country, you helped me so much with improving my english. it's still not brilliant but we're on our way :) All the love from Bosnia and Herzegovina
I love these kind of videos! I have always lived in big cities (born and raised in Paris, now live in London) and my mornings have always been quick quick quick! In secondary school, I would wake up at 7:45 to catch the 8AM bus. After finding you through one of your morning routines, I’ve been inspired to take my mornings to not be in a rush for once! Lately, since it’s been quite warm and sunny, I’ve really enjoyed walking right out of the house when waking up 6:30 to do all of the lovely morning in a London park. I bring my yoga mat, I exercise and meditate, sometimes I even bring my breakfast. I just have a generally good time :) Thank you for these kind of slow living videos, I really, really like them and would be happy to see more of these videos from you!!
Hi Ruby!! I first found out about your channel when I was searching something up about a “BookTuber Morning Routine” and yours looked fantastic, so I watched it! Now I am completely gripped to your channel... it’s SO SO SO good! In fact, as I’m typing this comment, both my sister and I are both watching your channel in bed!! I’m a BookTuber too, and (yesterday) was even motivated by you to do some tidying of the attic! (From your decluttering video) I really hope that you see this comment, and have a really awesome day! From Ivo 😀
@@sentienttapioca5409 That's just the morning cleaning and moisturizing routine. Not the whole skincare (which are more likely to come in the evening and at night before going to bed). She also didn't show what kind of sunscreen she used either. I hope she wore SPFs eventhough the days are cloudy. Bcz the UVA is present always in natural light.
@@София-д3р7д idk about other people but my skincare routine is just cleanser and moisturiser (and I've recently started exfoliating more). I don't think any more is that essential.
I like slow living content ! its been one of my intention for this new year (to live more slowly) and I would really appreciate to see how you implement slow living in your daily life
I loved the moment when Ruby went outside running around and enjoy nature and yes I do love having a slow living especially in the morning because I've been a lot of pressure when it comes to studying. Sadly at my area doesn't any specific, quiet neither safe place to walk around to get some peaceful mind.
My parents are always in such a rush. Everything needs to go fast for them, they can never truly stop to enjoy a moment. I'm trying to live more slowly myself, as I enjoy life a lot more that way. Thank you Ruby for giving me ideas on how to do so and reminding me that I don't need other people to live my best life! : )
Hi Ruby, You live in such a magical place... I dream to own a cottage in the middle of fields like this someday ;). I have recently been a French au pair in England and I miss this country a lot, it's a pleasure to hear you speaking English with this typical accent I love so much. I discovered your channel while seeking for some ways to virtually escape from the city, and when I found you I also gained some helpful motivation tips to go on working on my Highway Code test. So, thank you for sharing the beauty that surrounds you and your soothing, clever personality, I wish you and all your kind community the most beautiful of Sundays !!!!
Hello Ruby! Lovely video as always. I just wanted to quickly share a word of caution regarding your hair now that it is so long. I have danced ballet all my life and have therefore spent a considerable amount of time with my hair up in a bun. The repetitive strain on my hair and scalp resulted in permanent traction alopecia around my temples and ears. I now only ever wear my hair down or in loose styles such as relaxed braids, which has helped prevent further breakage and thinning of my hair. Of course, you are entitled to wear your hair however you want, but when it is as long and thick as yours is, wearing it in buns for a few hours every day can result in serious, permanent damage. Just wanted to share my advice so that you don't end up going through what I did! All the best!
Yes, yes, yes to more slow living content please! Love watching your channel in the morning as I find it highly inspiring and a beautiful way to begin my day ❤
1. Wake up and turn off alarm 2. Hydrate 3. Stretch 4. Brush hair 5. Open up curtains 6. Yoga (5-10 minutes) 7. Wash face with cold water to wake up 8. Apply face cleanser 9. Brush teeth and read 10. Make bed 11. Apply makeup 12. Put on headphones to listen to music 13. Fill up bottle with water and ice 14. Empty dishwasher 15. Make breakfast 16. Make tea 17. Fill up hot water bottle (i guess this is what the English do) 18. Wrap up tight in blanket and eat breakfast at desk in bedroom (while reading of course) 19. Light a candle 20. Plan out day (she used her academic planner and the digital app, notion) 21. Studying, most daunting tasks first 22. Get ready for morning walk and grab a book, which she likes to put in her pocket 23. Drink wheatgrass shot 24. Get a steaming glass of tea 25. Go back up to bedroom 26. Go back to studying Hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I’m always wondering about the safety of walking alone in a deserted contryside area while watching Ruby’s vlogs. it freaks me as a big city person out
I used to love her videos when I was in high school preparing for graduation exams. I still enjoy them, but I already graduated from university and got married. And Ruby didn't even change at all in a good way :)
I love this vlog particularly, routines are my favorite. I think it's the slow living part, I would love to see more of that! I love the walks that you film, they are amazing to watch. Thank you for your videos and have a nice weekend!
your part of the world is truly stunning - i hope to live in the english countryside someday ✨ love how you incorporate slow living and productivity at the same time!
So calming and relaxing.. I'm watching it for the fifth time.. before night time because is so peaceful... great music too.. loved it!! Btw, I'm 33, mom and wife. I'd go back in time to be more like her..Someone out there can relate?
Hi Ruby! I love your videos and plan on watching them consistently this fall 🥰 I was wondering where you got your hot water bottle and of course the owl plushie? As a girl stuck with Generalized Anxiety Disorder I always have cramps and it would make my life better! Thanks ☺
Ahh I really do mean this as kindly as possible but I find it so strange that your pre-covid and covid videos are near identical. Much as the productivity and positivity is incredible, I wonder how realistic this is and how much is a reflection of your own perfectionism. Many people are struggling a lot in the U.K. Mental health for our particular peer group in the U.K. is at an all time low, with services stretched to bursting. I realise your channel is for study encouragement, and it absolutely achieves this beautifully, perfectly, even! I guess you do not owe anyone anything, but I wonder how you’re coping so wonderfully if this is a reflection of your life. Being so positive is amazing but i think it would be interesting and positive to hear how you manage your off days.
living in the english countryside must be so interesting because it's filled with so much history! i would spend just hours on end walking in the fields, thinking of the people who used to live and work there...
Yes, more slow-living videos please! It seems as if you're so much more at peace now days. Perhaps it's because you're getting a proper amount of quality sleep at night. One of the things that I saw with other Tubers' "I got up at 5 a.m." videos of the past is that the person was burning the candle at both ends in order to do so. Proper sleep is so important with both physical and mental health.
the countryside reminds me of those descriptions written in storybooks.. So simple yet calming.. I live in the city, so I don't really know if there are any such open grounds nearby, but i guess that is what is so special about the country.. How many of you agree with me?
I don’t know if they’re available somewhere already but can you share your Notion spreads? I love how simple but efficient yours all seem but I’m bad at laying mine out! Love that you incorporate yoga and other peaceful activities into your mornings now before more intensive work 🧡
I am in my mid 30s and I am an old English woman at heart: I want to have a quiet home and wash my face using water from a ceramic bowl with flowers in /on it. Thank you!
