Johnny, I am 77,have been shooting & reloading since 1965, have heard that your are too old to learn cause I learned a couple of things from your outstanding video. You do have nicer equipment than I do, which great. Keep up your skill, Thanks.....J.J. HURO,1SG. USA RET.
I could not put it any BETTER!!! David. Johnny is an absolute treasure when it comes to reloading and saving US ALL A lot of time!! THANK YOU JOHNNY!!!
@JohnnysReloadingBench He's the reason I got into reloading and became addicted to it and precision shooting with the ar platform and starting my own channel just mainly to vlog my process and figured it doesn't hurt to share my journey. I'm sad he got burnt out cause rewatching his videos over and over just ain't the same. Hope youre doing well Johnny
I watched the twitch stream a couple weeks ago and again recently. The amount of time spent just on a hour video for the Tubes U, has to be overwhelming and is absolutely a big commitment.. Lots of us appreciate what you do and love the channel. We Hope to keep seeing you in New videos. 2 Cents from a random Hillbilly, nobody asked for! Please, keep it fun and interesting FOR YOU!!! Don't worry about what everyone else wants to see, wants you to do, blah, blah, blah..... It has to be exhausting and draining, and incredibly frustrating, trying to make everyone happy.... I watch all the videos. Not for every caliber, chamber, barrel length, or the hundred different topics you explore. Work on what makes you happy and excited! We are lucky enough to follow you on your journey. To be honest, I enjoy the channel and am really trying to encourage you to keep making videos. Avoid the fatigue and burnout. Do what you do, and when you look back, I think you will find us all right there watching. Nobody cares what caliber, platform, magneto, lab, suppressed finally blows your face off? Your fans will be there to see it.... Hope to see you again soon. Team JRB !!!!!
Thanks, Paul...I really appreciate it. There's nothing worse than listening to a youtuber whine and cry about how much work goes into videos, so I try to avoid bitching too much. It really is a lot of work, though. It's nice to see that a lot of folks recognize it.
Didn't catch the twitch stream, but I did enjoy the whole video. I echo Paul's comments. Keep it fun for you. You'll have your die hard fans and detractors, just have fun with it.
Yeah i agree. Like I said during the live stream, as long as It's about reloading and guns the caliber, equipmemt etc does not matter. Big thank you that you're back at it again Johnny, your videos are by far the best! Btw I'm waiting for some VV tinstar to show up so that I can try and load up some bedroom window subs 😎 /The north Swede.
Johnny's Reloading Bench That is why only a few people have the commitment to make this kind of videos interesting and entertaining. That doesn’t keep me from being a greedy bastard and want a video every day though 😁
Yeah me too. Not that we doubt you JRB. But it just doesn’t have that real feel without the actual impacts. I don’t believe shot marker 😂 Where is the petition to sign to bring back the real targets
I love it when you get impressed .... I get the same way at the range and my wife (who is a excellent shooter) thinks i'm a geek because I get excited. She's my tester/shooter, so I am vindicated . she had to sit down and watch your video. I'm not the only one who get's it...... Thanks Johnny!!! Keep going
As a big 6.5 Grendel guy (and someone who's learned a LOT and had a lot of help with load development for _your channel_ ) I'm looking forward to this one and I'm interested in the round.
The amount of meticulous detail that you go into with these reloading videos is frekin awesome. I just started reloading 223 over this rona break and watched about every one you had.
@@texpatriot8462 properly has some before this all started. See lot of guys on mewe reloading forums selling them off in on from house sale finds or they got wrong ones.
Yes!! JRB is back and working on a 6mmARC like I am!! I’m using an 18” Proof Carbon Fiber barrel for mine. Make sure you use an adjustable gas block! I’ve had great luck with Reloder-16, IMR4451, and H4350 using the 100gr+ bullets.
@@anthonymurphy2540 that’s one of the few plus sides to being a dealer, I get to buy stuff for wholesale. Still not a cheap barrel, but I wouldn’t buy a cheap barrel anyways when looking for accuracy.
It's on my list! I've got some fresh Lapua 220 Russian cases that I need to form into a new batch of brass for that rifle. It's going to be an interesting and challenging process. If I can get back into the swing of things and start putting out videos regularly, that is on my short list of projects.
Well hello stranger.. good to see your all well and have some new motivation for a new caliber to help all of us learn... your a great teacher of this craft.. I bought a 264LBC barrel the day Hornady released this 6ARC.. So had to put this on hold for a little... I'll be buying a barrel soon.. then all the components to reload.. the bullets will be easy for me as I also bought a 6 creed.. k, I'm rambling... talk soon.
So after watching your 6 ARC video , I thought wow what a lot of stuff to keep in mind. So the next day I take my newest rifle (6.5 Grendel) to the range. It's an AR platform nothing new here ,because I have a bolt gun in 6.5 Grendel. So I took so of the ammo that was loaded for the bolt gun and a box if factory ammo, to check gun function and to sight in that all went OK . All the problems you were having , was similar to the problems I was having. After morting a few rounds to get the fired case out I pulling the bullet out of one that wouldn't go into battery, I called it a day. I found a video you did about different chamber dimensions of the Grendel. So I guess I'm going to have to go thru a process to get the right size case and bullet setting depth. So thank you for your videos they are very helpful, I don't feel like I'm the only one that has screw-ups.
One of my Favorite videos ! When he gets that 108 ELDM .35 5 shot group at the end you could feel his joy! FWIW, Besides Hornady's expensive 1 Shot Case Lube , Lees case sizing lube also dries to the touch and is a great sizing lube. I put a finger swipe into a ziplock bag and shake the cases in it and they all are coated easily with a very small amount and NONE is wasted spraying all over the loading block etc. I have had the same Ziplock 1 Gallon freezer bag and used it for years now. 😊
The hard work and data Johnny's reloading bench has done for the entire reloading community is invaluable. I always refer to his videos over the years and wish I could thank him personally. Alas I am not wealthy and this is the best I can do. I hope he knows how much he is appreciated.
This was such an amazing video. I am just starting with both reloading and with 6mm. This gives me such a great starting point! Thanks so much. I really appericate the depth you explained everything! Can't wait to see more on the 6mm!
I’ve probably watched over 100 of your videos and I’ve never heard you more tickled than that 108 ELD-M/CFE223 group. It’s awesome to see someone so excited with their hobby; keep up the great work!
I'm not planning on reloading this cartridge, but I figured there may be stuff to learn. You certainly delivered. Thank you for your detailed explanation of what's going on with the FL sizing die depending on how it is set.
Glad you're back brother! I'm sort of a newer subscriber. I just haven't been here for years. But man I love your videos. And they have helped me out in my reloading, tremendously! I'd much rather watch your videos, than the other big named channel, UR. You've got me hooked on reloading and load development. Haha can't wait to see more videos man.
that was a great video! i would not have dedicated that much time to a single video typically, but that was great info and well-presented! I'm currently working on getting my 6 arc finished and found the reloading processes and results very interesting! keep it up!
Grafs had brass yesterday and Mid-south shipped 100 to me yesterday, I’ve been sitting on this project for a couple of months, I’ve got the Odin works 21 inch barrel, I ‘ve got brass actually in the mail now and another 80 rounds of the Hornady Match coming from Palmetto. So almost good to go, picked up the Hornady dies early.
So glad your doing this episode. I have been looking at doing this from the min it first started getting talked about but been allot of people had no clue what I was talking about
I've assembled my 20" 6 ARC but haven't had a chance to shoot it just yet. Waiting for the Hornady Precision Hunter ammo to become available. I have a buddy that is with the DOD group that helped develop the 6 ARC and he told me that his group is loving the new 6 ARC. Oh well love your videos keep up the good work.
After watching this video yesterday I’m officially beginning to build my own 6mm ARC. Purchased the upper and forend and once the Odin 18” barrel comes in stock I’ll be placing an order with Odin.
I don't know if anybody else has said it in the comments you can make your own gauge from your fired case. I don't remember the particular size but I do know it's 36 TPI. I have the tap to do that if you want to send me a case I can make you one. Glad to see you back !
Johnny this was an outstanding video! I watched it 3 times and I took detailed notes. I learned a lot and I have been reloading since 1996. Many thanks! I have missed your content but I understand that it is not easy! Captain USN (Ret)
So glad to see you back. I have no interest in ARs but I’m (as usual) leaning concepts that apply to my interest in precision long range shooting. It’s like watching a video on breakfast but improving your dinner preparation.
Glad you’re back Johnny! My own reloading has diminished since you’ve been on a break. 6ARC has me intrigued, since I’m looking for a soft shooting hunting cartridge for my 8 yr old.
Glad to see you back reloading! I've learned a lot from watching your videos. I just finished a first cut on some 6.5 Grendel reloads following your load ladder process. I had pretty good results, best was 0.75" with several others under 1". I have high hopes for the 6mm ARC, but I doubt I'll switch at this time
Lucked out and got a die set, stripped upper , 18” proof barrel, bolt and now looking for brass. Hope it shoots as well as my 6.5 creedmore. Really enjoy your videos, keep up the great work!!!
I reload thousands and thousands of rounds for a litany of pistol calibers which I shoot a lot of every week, but I never get the motivation to do rifle load development and serious accuracy testing until I watch your videos. It's nice to see new content, I was worried you just quit entirely. I've barely done any since you went away so I'm very glad you're back, now I have inspiration to keep questing for the smallest groups. Your video also sparked my interest in this cartridge a bit. I can't hunt big game with a semi auto rifle in my state, and I have no access to any range longer than 200 yards, so I don't really have a need for an AR15 in a 6mm or 6.5mm chambering but maybe I'll build one just because its capable of supreme accuracy.
You are costing me a fortune, first was the 300 BO and three lowers and five uppers later I have three set up for different applications. Wow a lot of reloading and a few years later....I have now decided to check out this 6mm ARC. Here you are, so here we go again. Keep up your great videos. I live in central Montana and have numerous large mountain chains along with the Missouri River Breaks country "CMR", Charles M. Russel Reserve to hunt/shoot. Sage brush, deep canyons, juniper canyons and thick timber. This take at least two or three rifles of each caliber to fit the application. Lots of Johnny's videos and rounds later I will find what works with the 6mm ARC. Let the journey begin.
I love the case and bolt head differences explanation. Yes we're here for reloading stuff but that was a really good breakdown that most people including myself don't know thank you
Great video, glad you're back! I'm very interested in seeing the 6mm ARC work-ups, also really like the idea of gel testing the 103gr ELDx and some of the popular hunting bullets ( 85gr GK, 90gr AB and 95gr BT) at ARC speeds.
Good to see you back!! I just started loading 3 weeks ago. And let me tell you how much your channel has helped me with 300 blk and 223!!!!! I am having so much fun learning this shit. Thanks again man!!!!!!
I use Hornady one shot, but I got tired of it building up all over my reloading trays. I got this trick from Panhandle Precision's channel, and he will stand up the cases on a sacrificial baking sheet and spray them that way. I've also used paper plates. I also have gotten better results spraying from a more vertical angle. It helps reduce the amount of case stretch for me when sizing.
Isn't it a great feeling? My first load with a new bullet shot a half inch group too! I was extatic! Unlike you, I don't shoot that small a group often with my 7mm-08. It sure is fun. Glad to see you back enjoying yourself.
It’s good to see yo back Johnny! I’ll stick with the Grendel for now, but I don’t care what your working on, I’m watching regardless of whether it’s a cartridge I have interest in. Hope you are doing well and staying safe!
Man I’m glade your back brother!! I have really missed me some JRB time Great vid! 6ARC showing some promise but I think where it’s really goin to shine in a bolt gun Keep up the great work brother
