Well this show came out in Canada in 2004, so maybe that's what being a teenager would be like at the time. Back in 2004, teenager couldn't go on iPhones and iPods because those devices didn't exist at the time. Also, Internet and computers were much slower in 2004.

It's funny because I was 10 or 11 when I started watching the series and when I got to my teenage years (I'm 20 now) I really went through some of the things featured in this show I watched as a kid.
