I have a '16 SS. I've had it for 5 years now. I still love it as much as the day I bought it. That honeymoon phase never ended for me. If I do trade it, it will be for a Nightfall Grey ZL1, just like my SS. And, it MUST have a manual transmission like the SS as well.
Have owned my 2021 ZLE for just over 3 weeks now. Hands down best car ever. The suspension is quite stiff though. I would stay with the mag ride unless you plan on tracking it.
Completely understand spending time in the garage just to stare at you car. I have a 2021 LT1 redine edition and do the same thing. You have a bautiful ZL1.
we have the exact car as you, we live in Canada and got the 1st 2017 ZL1 shipped to Canada. We also love our car, and like you there is nothing more that I enjoy as grabbing a beer and sitting in my garage and stair at our NASTYZL1. We have done quite a few mods and drag the car a fair bit, but just admiring the car is what I enjoy the most. Have fun with your new car and I am looking at what you do to it>
wouldn't trade my 2018 ZL1 for anything .....i got the auto 10 because i drove manual transmission for 25 years....enough of that crap. no way i'd go back to manual after feeling the auto 10 speed. the quickness is just amazing. i have the nightfall gray metallic. love it long time!

I paid $56,000 for mines and it had 1800 miles with sunroof option in 2018. The prices now are crazy on them! All that said the best purchase I’ve ever made car wise!
I really like your Camaro ZL1. I ordered a 2017 ZL1 nightfall grey 10 speed. I had problems with the transmission. I traded it and ordered a C8 Corvette Z51 which I received in January 2021. I kick myself for doing that. I miss the Camaro. Thinking on selling the VETTE and looking for a Camaro ZL1.
I was one of the guys that hated the 6th gen camaros but my dad basically converted me to liking them because he had a 19 ZL1 1LE in black so I actually dig the ZL1's I currently own a 14 GT500 car looks amazing man
Here is a review on my 17' SS Camaro 6 speed, blk on blk on blk rims with Matt blk racing stripes. Bought new in 17'. Daily driven for 4 years. 47k miles. Change fluids, 1 set of new tires about to ad 3rd set on rear, and gas it up! Love this car.😁
I agree...I have the 2019 (all black) ZL1....it looks so mean and beautiful at the same time. Love this year because of the clear tail lights and the camera rear view mirror. LOVE MY 6 SPEED!!! Then there is the sound..........
me again, try ZL1 Ad Ons, for your rock chip/tire problem, we have them and they are very subtle and do a fantastic job. We have Michelin 3350 30 R 20s on the rear 305s on the front and no stone chips, An alternative to going with 1Le suspension (very expensive) is a programable body control module. There is a very good company that makes one (can not remember the name) and the owner is a road trace enthusiast, his module will allow you to adjust the mag-ride to be as good as the 1LE's. I think GM charges Zl1 owners for 2 engines just in case they have to replace it. They probably figured out the customers could be their test dummies for the engines instead of in house testing and make the client pay the bill.
Thank you for this, literally all I needed to make my decision. Even went with a 17 because of the rear bumper (did get a sunroof though). Got my dream car!

👍Great vid. Beautiful car. Negative on the 1LE conversion. Just trade up for an actual 1LE and build that. I had a 2017 ZL1 auto in nightfall grey. Loved it, but had to sell it. I did a Corsa double x-pipe, which deletes the second pair of cats and it was an excellent mod. Just the right amount of increased db's without sacrificing the adjustable exhaust. I'd highly recommend. Also some smoked out led side marker lights with the 1LE taillights and 3rd brake light would look good. I did a ported throttle body which helped with the soft tip in on the gas pedal. Don't know if you have E85 in your area, but that would be the best/easiest bang for the buck in adding some horses. Should have gotten the 10 speed. It's faster and the combination of the engine and the transmission is what makes it special. Congrats anyway though. I love mine and will never sell it.
The 10 speeds are wicked fast yea, but driving a manual is a feeling like no other and it’s boring just holding the steering wheel letting the car do everything
@@cvestrand2259 couldn’t agree more. Recently drove the manual, as well as the automatic and while the auto is slightly faster, the car feels numb in comparison. Also the technology in the manual, with rev match and flat foot shifting from the factory why wouldn’t you take the manual?!
@@mr3xklusiv is not slightly faster unless you are a pro driver. Let's not even get into the fail of launching the 6 speed. Hey, if you want to get beaten by a mustang gt with the 10 speed, then more power to you. If you're still skeptical, I suggest you go and watch the nurburgring lap set. The rpms litterly stay in the max power range gears 2 to 6. That's simply not the case with the 6 speed.
One last thing I forgot to mention. You get remote start with the 10 speed. I use it everyday to hear my car start from the outside. I like seeing the reactions of people.
The taillights and rear end on your year ZL1 is much better than the new ones. Honestly, I don't know what they were thinking with that change. It's like they went in reverse,...the 2017-2018 rear-end looks updated, more modern and overall better than the new ones.

I've done it! One of the Best and Worst Decisions 😂 It's awesome at the moment. But then you realize how much money you would have saved if you didn't have $800/ month car payments

Had a friend with a turbo Cobalt that had no-lift (honestly, I probably wouldn’t have tried it in my own car haha). That was probably 15 years ago. That little turd was faster than a Firebird formula (LT1 auto). Performance has come a long way since then... hope you both enjoy your new ZL1!!
Subbed. I have 19 Riverside blue M6 ZL1. Regarding the 1LE conversion….personally I would do just the body components. I would not give up the mag ride. With the body mods, BMR cradle lock out and Eibach lowering springs you can run with the 1LEs and still have your mag ride
I love my ZL1 especially when I got it at the age of 21yrs old now I’m 22 going onto 23 but I do feel myself eventually moving towards the 1LE version or ZR1 later on I’m also in Texas and I might take it to LMR to get build idk yet
I want the 2022 ZL1, but I’d like the 1LE dive planes, splitter, and tire size without the brick suspension of the 1LE. So I’ll most likely get the ZL1 and put the back tires up front and buy 325s for the rear and get the splitter/planes. Not sure about the rear wing.

Hello just watched this video and love this car. I plan on ordering a brand new 2023 Camaro ZL1 this June. I have been going back and forth about adding the 1LE package because I love the way the ZL1 1LE looks. I just think I will regret having the stiff suspension. I do live in Florida where most of the roads are very nice, however. So I would like to see you do a conversion to make your ZL1 look like a 1LE. Where would you buy the items to do the conversion?
You see a nice car and it is but I don't see the Pontiac Trans-Am because GM sabotaged the brand so I see that Camaro is a donor to make the car I really want complete with T-tops and rear visibility without the need of reversing cameras and double the performance at least because too much Horsepower is just enough
Camaro the best in my book I bought new in 2016 ss loaded convertible color was called caught red handed just got picked up for speeding twice in 2 months and that was the end of the innocent I'm 72 can't afford paying the high price of insurance of a race car 🙃 with 525 horse power to the fear wheels I had turned up to leave 😅 my competitors in the dust and did the Good for 3½years of fun and now my daughter got it in the state of NEW YORK AND I'M FROM WISCONSIN AND SHE LOVES IT AND CALLS IT RED AND SHE ENJOYS EVERY MINUTE WITH IT GOING FAST IT WORKED OUT GREAT FOR HER 50TH BIRTHDAY GOD BLESS AMEN BE SAFE
The v6 / 1ss is more the enthusiasts funbox the 2ss is for guys with $ and the zl1 is for the guys with $ and too lazy/old to work on the 1ss themselves 😂
