Just happens to me while doing 65 pulling 16’ full dump trailer I just replaced my icp censor 1 year ago with factory brand glad I bought one with warranty great video ooo I have 2001 7.3
Just a couple days ago, was driving my truck to see about replacing the camper shell back window that got broken out recently. I was on the highway.... Passed several cars and got back in right lane, then all of the sudden service engine soon light came on, and no power, started down shifting to a stop on the side of the road. I had no throttle fron the start of this till i pulled off the road. Then all of the sudden, the truck was idling fine and I had throttle... Service engine soon light is still on, but truck runs fine as of right now. Not sure what it could be. I hooked the Napa and O Reilly ob2 into the dash with no codes or anything. I do not know what to do at this point.
Did you figure it out? I am having the same issue as the vid. CEL came on when i lost power and its not coming back on. Could not get it to fire. Called tow truck and waited. After about 10 minutes of waiting i tried to start it and it fired right up with no issues. Been driving the truck the past few days and it runs and drives great.
I'd check the wiring to the IPR. Wires get brittle and insulation falls off then you end up with a short at the IPR that doesn't really show up anywhere on faults. Had it happen to mine, rewired the ipr with a $12 replacement pigtail from auto zone and all is good
Check your fuel filter housing to see if you have a fuel heater element in the housing. These are prone to short out to the housing causing a dead short on the fuse that powers the ECU. My 99 did it. I just unplugged it and it didn't pop the fuse anymore. I never replaced mine and the truck starts in sub zero weather as long as you plug it in for the block heater. The connector is on tge back of the filter bowl and looks like the plug that plugs in on tge top of the HPOP.
