Why is it always the right video found AFTER I throw a punch of expensive fixes at it? Why cant I find your video first then go check that wire cluster to see if the wires rubbed and exposed. every wire on the bottom row of my cluster is rubbed off insulation all exposed and rusted! LOL wow! thank you sir
well Im thankful to have found you regardless yes! Problem solved thanks to you kind sir I truly appreciate you for that! Take Care !! @@prodieselrepair3218
Dude my 03 7.3 yesterday all of the sudden started running really rough and had no power at all and was dreading having to bring it into a shop so found your vid and probably saved me thousands.really appreciate it and keep up the great work.👍
Thanks for the great video just picked up a new to me 02 7.3 starts right up but definitely runs kinda rough going to check over my whole engine harness after I fix the preexisting issues 👍
Did your 7.3 cut off while driving with no engine lights coming on cuz I'm having the same problem with my truck I changed the sensors the iprs icps still cutting off
All my - lights flash whenever it would cut off and come back on I did what this guy showed and I just don't have any wires exposed but I cut a piece of garden hose and put around it anyway and it completely fixed the problem
I have a random issue with mine where it will run rough almost sounds camed but run like a vacuum issue I’m wondering is this may be my culprit. It’s strange because it affects my 3-4 shifts whenever it happens
Last week my 7.3 started overfueling herself while losing power and eventually dying altogether. Got a new cam position sensor on the way and was considering replacing the IPR but will definitely check that harness first thing tomorrow.!
I got a 2000 7.3 throwing a p0113 code. I googled the code and says it’s iat sensor but the air intake doesn’t have a maf or sensor connector? Any help? Thanks man.
HELP! My 2000 F250 7.3 Dash gauges stopped working the same time that my throttle quit working. I replaced the throttle assembly but it did not fix the problems. Are there any relays that could go bad? Any help on what to look at now?
Kind of late, but I just saw this, there is a fuse that controls this, happened to me. Truck stayed on but the dash didn't read anything, and the throttle didn't work. I just started checking fuses and sure enough there was a fuse burnt out. #19 interior fuse box, 2002 7.3 crew-cab for reference. Hope you solved it by now but if you didn't hope this helps.
2001 7.3 , 6 speed, got hpop off running truck with gauge hooked up, new ipr valve , new IAT, new icp sensor. Wires not rubbed through at main plug, new pig tails on both ipr and icp, runs decent then starts surging and high pressure goes from 1000psi to 3000psi, then drops down to 500 and below and diesel , but starts back perfectly. Really need help.
Check your fuel pressure at the fuel bowl. It's common to think that when the the engine dies and you see the oil pressure drop, the drop in hpop pressure is often blamed. When actually the engine could be running out of fuel and dying, hence, the hpop pressure drops because the engine is dying. Hope that makes sense. You also could have leaks in some injectors, but if you do see 3000 psi I wouldn't suspect that. I really think you have something else causing the engine to die and your low hpop pressure is a symptom of that. That's why I think you see 3000 psi first before it dies. The ipr is trying to raise the pressure while the engine is dying, trying to keep it running. Also with these types of problems you definitely have to have a mechanical gauge hooked up to test hpop pressure. That's the best way to figure out what's going on with the hpop pressure. It's rare, but I have had crazy phantom IPR pressure readings that have lead me in the wrong direction. I'm actually planning on making a video about a recent one I had.
@@prodieselrepair3218 we pulled a fuel pump off a running 7.3, and the pressures I listed are off a manual gauge. It'll hover at 480-500 before she goes nuts then dies. Injectors are also out of the running parts truck with new orings lol. I want ti burn the truck
@@kevinaweseom2866 yeah but do you know what the fuel pressure is? You can put a brand new pump on a still not have any pressure or flow. Especially if the pickup tube screens in the tank are clogged up which is definitely a common issue
I have a 97 PS that intermittently wont get over 2,000 rpm, I've replaced injectors & wiring harness, IDM, fuel pump, main computer, throttle pedal, glow plugs & harness, fuel pressure regulator, fuel bowl, fuel lines, fuel tank screens, cam position sensor, ICP and IPR sensors
I have not experienced that, but I won't say never. Anytime you crank an engine and it doesn't start you're missing something (fuel and high pressure oil most common). By the way yours seems to act I bet you have a high pressure oil issue
The 7.3l doesn't have a glow plug module. Thats controlled in the PCM. This problem usually only effects the wiring between the injectors and the Injector Driver Module (IDM).
I have an 01 7.3 270000 m. At about 2000 rpm’s on the 2-3 shift it sometimes has one loud spark knock with a black poof of smoke. Sometimes it just cuts off for a microsecond, like someone tapped a kill switch. I think the tach drops when it happens. I have tried several cps. Help!
@@2aguy144 I got a harness for my 2000 f350 from Riffraff. Email them your vin and they'll give you a link to the harness you need. It'll run you probably $6-800, depending.
I have a 2002 F250 7.3 with 367k miles and it starting running rough coming to a stop sign, then accelerating sporadically, then at idle it would die. then start up like nothing happened. The check engine light comes on but code reader says nothing. Then the check engine light turns off by itself. Just started doing this 2 days ago.
A common problem with those issues is a camshaft position sensor, it’s like a 30 dollar part from ford if that is your issue. Just something to look into.
Most people don't say why they're repairing. You say it usually cuts out and then you show us the direct section to look at that is clever. Everybody else never talks about why it's there. They just say code so. And so just say how it is if the truck aint running. Checklist, check that thank you.
Terrible advice especially on a future truck that you will never lay eyes on. ANYBODY dumb enough to put solder on old wires under their hood deserves to walk. Telling clueless people to rip apart a FICM harness and start soldering pieces of wire in there is derelict. Perhaps it would be wise to, you know, actually INSPECT those wires and maybe they don't need to be chopped up. If someone insists upon soldering wires under the hood, perhaps they can get a piece of wire from nana's broken table lamp.
