7/7 This Day or Infamous Day in Baseball July 7 1987 Andre Dawson Beanbrawls Game, After hitting a HR off Eric Show a few innings later Show Drills Dawson in the face, and all hell broke loose, So this is the Story of this incident through cards, and Sport Illustrated magazine, the story of Dawson leading up to this MVP season, and the MLB collusion against him, What could of been, and how it impacted his HOF voting., RIP to Eric Show even though we hated him then and why but still RIP,. I’m a big fan of the Hawk. Remember that season well thanks to WGN. Nice recanting of the story. You’re right, George Foster in 77 Hit 52- other than that no one in that era hit over 50. Very interesting and if the strike didn’t happen in ‘94 the Expos may have one the World Series. Thanks for sharing and Good Collecting! 👍❤️

I agree! Just the 80's & 90's strikes and losing those games in 87, how close could he have been to 500 or more. I know poor Expos in 94. Thanks for chiming in.

Man, I just remember Andre just crushing my Mets that year. He was a force. 'the year of the home run' they called it. As it was the record for most home runs in total up until that time and until 96. There were discussions that the ball was juiced even...Almost quaint compared to the total hr numbers you see now. was 4400ish that year and like 6100 in 2019 hah.

He sure was, he got up and wanted to k!ll him Eric. Yeah, if Classic cards were good for anything it was putting out stuff like this image, and they were quick for the time putting out stuff like this. They felt like Topps Now way before. TY

@@OldStyleClassicsBaseball-cd3tm Jesus I could only imagine how much it would be probly 10 times or more but I'm glad u got to go I was 8 in 87 and have lived in Baltimore all my life so u know how frustrated of a fan I am but we are getting better I think one of the most beautiful stadiums in the MLB.
