That mill must be pounding out the flour. That's a lot of cars and they make this run pretty often. I saw a lot of lumber cars, too. It's nice to see a lot of businesses taking advantage of the rail service that's available.
Nice to see the D&L still going strong! Wish I could find some ALCOs. I'm in Southside Virginia. CSX Norfolk and Southern and some short lines. Always run EMDs or GEs. Grew up at the CSX main line; used to see toasted GEs all the time.
Considering how long the service lives on these old alcos have been I see no reason why resources and materials should be wasted making new locomotives every year.
Great video! Need the surround cranked for this one... Was it just my eyes or did the 4 lead units on DL3 not have their MU cables connected? The helpers did... hmmm.
I’m surprised that the unit in the first shot has a P2 because it actually sounds decent. Here out west the P2s sound like absolute garbage, but on the other hand, at least they do their jobs well, being annoying and all.
I have been trying to ask people and nobody seems to answer me. What are these unit's? These locomotives are very strange I don't know what they are. And I usually can tell what every locomotive Usually is. I'm curious about the Six axle locomotives and the two axle locomotives painted in that white color scheme I know the other units are alcos but what are these other ones? I don't know what they are and it's starting to really bother me. Does anybody know?
Are other folks having issues with this video? I have tried watching it on mobile, DSL, and now a higher cable modem connection, and it starts buffering at the 1:36 mark.
