My first designer piece was a Gucci bum bag from 1991- it was a gift for graduating school early. I never used it to keep it in good condition but still have it to this day. It would be over a decade later before I bought my own designer bag but I have never considered selling my first piece!

Lovely vintage pieces. My oldest is a small vintage Lambskin Chanel, 1998, with beautiful 24ct gold hardware. I bought it preloved and in beautiful condition 💕

I bought a vintage PA and took it to LV to have the strap replaced because it was splitting like yours. They actually told me they would replace it with the current style strap. Went to pick it up and it had the original style strap. After telling them about the original conversation they did give me the newer strap for $150.

I just picked up a vintage Ferragamo leather handbag in a cream color from an estate auction. I believe it’s from the 70s or earlier and in really good condition for $75. I am all about vintage and preloved, given today’s prices and, in some cases, decreasing quality.

I buy almost anything vintage when it comes to bags. The prices of designer bags have become so high that I don't bother buying new designer bags anymore. With all their price increases several times a year, I don't think it's worth it 🤔

Love this video. My oldest vintage luxury bags are my Chanel medium flap, purchased at a designer consignment store for $500, and my LV Speedy 30, purchased in Paris for $350 back in 2002.

Mel you took me on a trip down memory lane. We had so many of the same bags! I remember the frenzie for the Fendi Spy bag. Also, the Louis Vuitton bag was my first designer bag. I loved it so much. Every bag you've shown was an it bag. Nothing beats the late 90's, early 2000's. Fashion was amazing during that time. Fantastic video!

Hi Mel... super fun and interesting video. Love seeing your Oldies but Goodies. My oldest luxury for years, I thought, was my LV Monty, but it's a Cute small Vintage Blue/White Canvas GUCCI BAG. I believe I'd paid $50 for it. A HUGE Thank you, Mel. I'm going to pull it out and use it for an entire week, nonstop. It's not a neutral color, but I'll make it work.😊🤍
